DOWNTOWN Kitchen + Cocktails
I love Downtown Kitchen. It’s always a good time.
Excellent food and drink. Highly recommended. Although the noise level was high eventually it becam tolerable.
Attentive waitstaff, great cocktails, excellent food, very creative. Overall a wonderful experience.
I had heard of this restaurant at home in Colorado and looked forward to a meal there since we’d made our vacation plans. The menu is very creative and delicious. The experience exceeded my expectations
Our friends, who are “foodies” from Manhattan Beach, loved it. They recognized that Janos is “the real deal.” My husband described the flavors as “an explosion in your mouth,” as you get such a variety of sensations with every bite.
We had a good meal at Downtown Kitchen on 15 Feb. it was very highly recommended, so we were fairly disappointed when we discovered that they’d run out of duck by only 7pm. We made other choices and enjoyed them anyway. My friend chose the salmon—it was served with some broccoli, which didnt quite mesh with the polenta, but the fish was cooked very well and she enjoyed it. I had the porchetta—it was served with an interesting bean mash and the sauce was earthy and full flavored, but there was a lot of fat and gristle in the center which was disappointing. But overall we both enjoyed the food. The dining room is pretty noisy, so we couldn’t really engage in a conversation during our meal. We were also disappointed with the lack of handicap parking. But this is an interesting place nd the food is creative and tasty. We’ll come back next time we’re in Tucson.
Food was spectacular. All the dishes were flavorful and innovative.
Service was excellent and the recommendations by our waitress were all excellent.
Valentines menu. Never disappoints! Amazing food! We will be back!
Love the bar, the food, and the service!
Every server we have ever had at Kitchen and Cocktails has been unique, bright, knowledgeable and very present!!!
We love the glorious calamari, the bread appetizer...can’t remember its name, but it is divine.
The creative Cocktails are always an adventure.
We think the side dishes and the desserts do not live up to the high standards of everything else. This time the Brussels sprouts were not at all special...but everything else truly was.
Can’t wait to come back!!!
Loved everything about our dinner here - great food, wine, service. We use to eat at J Bar when in Tucson but it closed a few ago. Took us a while to realize that Chef Janos Wilder opened a new place downtown. We'll definitely be back next time we get to Tucson!
Our group commented that we appreciated being able to talk and not be drowned out by noise! Great food and wait staff. Definitely returning
We loved this place! Great food. Great Service. Great Ambiance.
Amazing dinner. We were 6 and we all raved about our dinner. Lots of duck eaters, and they raved about it, the boeuf bourguignon was delicious, perfect for a cold evening. I can't wait to go back.
Restaurant was far too noisy. Difficult to hear conversation
Janos never disappoints. His food is creative and delicious. The only complaint is that the service seemed rushed. Our dessert came without any notice quickly after we finished the entree. It was brought by someone other than the waiter. (We had ordered the three course meal) it would have been nice to finish our wine and order coffee to go with dessert. Instead it just appeared. As there was ice cream on it we couldn’t just wait to eat it.
The ambiance feels very much like downtown fun. The restaurant was quite full with those just off work, those meeting friends, and those starting a downtown evening. Lots of chatter. Our waitress seemed rather unenthused about her work but the kitchen and the management were visibly working very hard to keep happy customers. The food dishes have some curious names, but they are full of flavor and portion. We plan to return in warmer weather to enjoy their outdoor patio.
The food never seems to be as good as it was a few years ago. Calamari were pale, and while the sauce on my pork was delicious, the meat itself was dry and tasteless. Donuts with fillings were outstanding.
A Tucson favorite for us with its changing menu, & proximity to theaters.
Great experience will definitely be back!!!
Downtown Kitchen + Coctails has a really interesting, creative menu. The food and service was excellent. And the atmosphere is fun and vibrant. Highly recommend.
Excellent service. My wife had a cocktail that we never heard of that had tequila as the base but it had a chili powder maybe in it , a little hot kick anyhow and it was delicious. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about all the different entree’s and drinks. Oh, food was great! What can I say, we will be back!
Amazing food and service
Yanos always a pleasure to dine and see you, food and service outstanding like is usual.
Looking forward to see you again soon
my boss and his team loved it, thanks!! they said it was outstanding.
Best meal I’ve had in months
Great food. I wish the wine choices were more expansive with better wines
The menu had a good variety of options. The dishes were very flavorful, presentation was great. Portions were an appropriate size and entree prices were quite reasonable.
This was our first time here and we were not disappointed! Came for a very special birthday celebration. The food was artfully prepared and plated. You can feel Chef Wilder skill and love of food in every bite. Can't wait to come back❤️ I also look forward to participating in one of Chef Wilders cooking classes in the near future😃
We have been here several times but this time we brought visiting friends, knowing that they would enjoy the unique food options and beverages. They were not disappointed!
A little pricey. Noise level barely tolerable Dishes are creative and portions about right
Get an outside table if warm enough, noise level much lower.
We have dined at Downtown Kitchen several times before. We like the fact that the menu changes so it's always a new experience to dine there. The food is always excellent, using fresh ingredients and nice flavors. The service is attentive and responsive, and reasonably quick. The only drawback is that the tables are crowded quite closely together in order to offer service to more people but this crowding also increases the noise level.
Went to this restaurant pre-theater with two other women. Each of us had a different cocktail. Cocktails were creative, pretty and amazingly tasty. Each of us had a different meal. Chicken, duck and vegetarian options were all excellently prepared and full of unique flavor.
We will all be back!
Creative dishes. Attentive servers. Great atmosphere.
Very good as always. Very dependable. Always enjoy going there.
The service was excellent as well as the food!
Terrific as usual. One of the best restaurants in Tucson ... great craft cocktails and food.
Janos Wilder never disappoints his guests! His creative menu is a delight to choose from.
