About Downtown Kitchen
Welcome to the Downtown Kitchen. We have one goal in mind when we open our doors every day - "To do whatever it takes to create the best dining experience possible.' That means buying certified Angus beef, Ashley Farms chicken, New Zealand Spring lamb, dayboat fish and fresh local produce. We change our menus daily according to market and season availability. Our style of cooking is defined as simplicity at its best. We built the restaurant to elevate the guests' level of comfort. The bar, tables, and booths were custom-made by a local wood worker. And we searched the nation for unique works of Art to deck our walls. Music of Blues and Rock greats fill the air. Service is as important as the food. Our staff is sincere, knowledgeable and friendly. They hustle to deliver the best service around, yet take the time to remember your name and how you like your drink.

Downtown Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
Well, after many visits this was the first time we ever ate upstairs so maybe that was the reason but, this was not our best dinner at Downtown Kitchen. Three of our four steaks were cooked wrong. Service was super slow...I think we had 4 people waiting on us and it was still slow. I felt like we sat and waited a lot. Also, on my reservation I put down we were celebrating two birthdays and I am guessing you don’t do anything for birthdays so I don’t think we will be back to celebrate again. Waiters were nice...that’s about it.
Excellent option in a beautiful little town. We were in town and (thankfully) got this recommendation from a local. We were looking for a non-chain place for a business dinner that provided a good bite. The menu has a good variety of options, the staff was spot-on helpful and the food was perfect.
This was my 1st time here. Great restaurant, service and perfect for a date night and being able to talk and catch up with my husband. My martini was perfect and delicious and the appetizer was amazing as was our meal. We decided to order the specials which was the filet medallions (surf and turf) and mahi-mahi...they were delicious and the steak cut like butter. I ordered a side of the Succotash, which was so good! Highly recommend trying this restaurant. I failed to get our servers name, but she was awesome and so helpful and fun to talk too.
We were very disappointed in our meals. After dining at their other restaurant we anticipated that the experience would be the same. The steak was very disappointing and basically not worth the price. Comparatively the meal was over-priced to what we had at Goin' Coastal.
Downtown Kitchen is a hole in the wall in Downtown Canton. My boyfriend and I come here for our special occasion dates (valentine's day, anniversary, etc...) and always get the hangar steak. If that was all they sold I am very sure they would stay in business. They turn this tough piece of meat into the most tender piece of steak I have ever tasted and with flavor I am still trying to replicate at home. DK caters to seasonal tastes, so expect sides and specials reflective of that. Most recently they had a parmesan risotto and a lamb chop with spaghetti squash dish featured.
My only complaint is the change to the crab cake app. They used to be served with a green goddess dressing, but are now served with a roasted corn and red pepper vinaigrette. It definitely feels out of season for the cold months, but also does not fit the crab cake taste nearly as well.
This was our second visit in a short period of time. Our waiter was Robert and he was our server previously. He does an excellent job of describing the nightly specials, wine list, and menu staples. He is attentive, courteous and an excellent representative for Downtown Kitchen.
By the way, the food is great, too!
Downtown Kitchen is one of our absolute favorite places in the Atlanta area. While it's a bit of a hike if you're closer to the city, we can't recommend it enough to friends and family. For the price, you won't find a better steak or overall meal. The ambiance isn't overly pretentious with a lively atmosphere downstairs, while the upstairs dining room is perfect for a quieter meal for a date or group of friends. The service has always been spectacular. Stephanie in particular has been our server many times and is absolutely fantastic. Downtown Kitchen has become one of our primary go-to's even though we're 25+ minutes away.
Wow, just wow. My boyfriend and I went to DK for a date night. I had been once before and loved it, but due to living in a different state, we don’t get to go often. We were served by Robert D I believe, and having him as a server completely made this experience! He was extremely attentive and was so helpful when we were indecisive on which entree to choose. The food was impeccable as always, no doubt worth the price. Also, their dessert is absolutely amazing! After our amazing food and extraordinary service by Robert, we have decided to become regulars.
We just moved to Canton in 2017 and Downtown Kitchen was recommended to us by neighbors.
I have to say we were disappointed with the quality of the food as well as the service. My husband had the short ribs that tasted like dried pot roast. The website had rainbow trout as one of their specialty item which I was looking forward to ordering however it was not on the menu Sunday night.
Great food! Our favorite date night spot. Highly recommend the fried green tomatoes app, blue cheese vinegarette dressing for salad, hanger steak entree and peanut butter pie dessert. Hanger steak is always perfect. The service is wonderful. You won’t be disappointed.
We had dinner with friends at Downtown Kitchen as they are new to Canton and had not been to the restaurant. Our waiter was great in explaining the menu and particularly the specials. The pork chop, steak and fish specials were chosen and we were glad for our decisions. Each was excellent!
We arrived 10 minutes early for reservation and was told that our reservation had been given away to somebody who thought they made a reservation at that facility but instead made a reservation at another facility. We were told to sit at the bar and then we were told to move to let another couple sit beside us at the bar . 40 minutes after our reservation we had to take a table at the bar which was loud and not the atmosphere that we came for for. Once the food came out my husband and I received ours and then my sons plate did not arrive for about 10 minutes due to the chicken supposedly be overcooked. The food was good, the waitress was good but the organization was poor.
Family get together. Food was great. The waitress handling our table was exceptional, (attentive) and we had small children which she was great interacting with them.
Several appetizer specials were worth having, (artichoke dip & sweet potato chips).
All in all would recommend this as a must visit when in Canton.
