Downtown Joe's Brewery and Restaurant has been a staple of Napa Valley since the 1990s with a historic brewery dating back to the 1800s. Our focus is on providing customers with delicious food sourced locally and great beer brewed right here by our passionate brew masters. Overall experience was good. Made reservation but when I checked in at the bar - nobody seemed to know they took reservations... I had reserved an inside table but was told there was a private party and would have to sit in the bar or outside. Chose outside to find the walkway was under construction - my wife uses a cane but made it. Cynthia was very attentive and drinks, appetizers and entrees arrived quickly. Garlic swiss burger- yum!

We did not end up staying the restaurant is going through construction outside but inside is old and not clean and very outdated. It could be an amazing place with some TLC.

All the food was very tasty and ambiance was great. We did an online reservation for the patio. When we arrived, the hostess was super sweet and attentive. We were informed that unfortunately, we couldn't sit on the patio... bummer but not a deal breaker. Our server was inattentive. He gave us a drink menu then walked away, had to flag him down to get our drinks and app ordered. Not sure if he was new or overwhelmed with the traffic (it was the night before Bottle Rock, so it was a little busy but didn't seem packed). He brought us our drinks/app then walked past us several times over about 15 min. He eventually took our meal orders and rushed away again, pretty much ignoring us the rest of the night. He was, of course, helping other tables/staff, so we tried to be understanding, but he had time to sit and chat with another team member for several minutes in the middle of the dining room. Finally, he brought our check and walked away before we could hand our card off. We stuck the check at the end of the table and he walked by another 4 or 5 times. I finally had to hold the check straight out as he past to get him to take it. I'm not sure if he was new or if he was busy trying to keep up, or if this is typical.

Wonderful food and beer. Our server Iris was amazing. We had burgers, fish & chips, beer and wine. And everything was awesome

The French Dip I ordered arrived with crushed bread and the bread was soggy. The horseradish cream that came with it was unappetizing and did not seem prepared on site. Unfortunately the brownie for dessert was crispy, slightly burnt, and the raspberry sauce was chunky and lacked flavor. I would not advise to go to this restaurant for the food, but the ambiance was nicely situated on the river and it seems like a great place to hang out to watch a game or have bar snacks.

Downtown Joe's is so great we actually went there twice over our weekend stay in Napa. Situated directly on the river in Downtown Napa, the setting is amazing and will be even better once they finish the construction of the outside decks, then later the full remodel. Currently, it's like going back in time. The bar area to the street-side is bustling, but we were looking for a quieter experience with the dining room directly facing the river. The service was fantastic, specifically Cynthia. For food, we had chicken wings, chicken quesadilla, fish & chips (garlic fries - yum) and later the Chile Verde for Cinco De Mayo. This will be our new go-to for our annual Napa trip!! K & R - Las Vegas, NV

Our service and food was excellent! My husband loved his steak and beer. I loved my french dip, and ate too much. The peach cobbler was excellent, sweet, yummy crust. We had a very enjoyable dinner and our server was very accommodating.
