Douzo is always great. Have enjoyed it for lunch and dinner and never disappoints!

We asked for a spoon when the meal is served, and we didn't get one after our checks.

Douzo is our go to for Japanese and sushi. The service is always friendly and efficient. The food especially the vegetarian sushi is fresh and some of the best in the city.

My wife and I frequent Japanese restaurants and are rather particular about the quality of the food. So we weren’t sure what to expect when we went to Douzo Sushi on Dartmouth St. We were surprised to discover this is one of the best Japanese restaurants we have eaten at. We started with the nameko miso soup and the shitake mushroom soup, both of which were outstanding. We shared a house salad, which was also excellent. She had an order of California rolls that she said were the best she has ever had, and I had the yaki udon with shrimp, which was delicious. My wife tasted it and liked it so much that she said she would order it the next time we went. Overall, Douzo Sushi was a great find for us and we intend to eat there whenever we have dinner in that area.

Food great! we ordered late lunch around 2:15, quick service, but never saw wait staff to see if we wanted more to drink, eat or have desert! Perhaps, mgr took our plates & did not ask if we need more! Funny, we talked with him about chg which was healthier sides of salad with salmon bento! I often eat it! We had 2 pm reservation.
Lucky, I had bought sone treats to go home, but offered up to my friends since we were there for bday & wanted a desert! Oh, well, guess staff had meal break to eat while we lingered waiting for our check which finally came by hostess! I dud not want to express my concern as was there fur happy luncheon with friends!! Hope better service next time!

Four of us had dinner while we were in Boston for a conference. The service was terrific especially when we added a 4th to our reservation for 3. The food was amazing. Absolutely some of the best sushi and Japanese food I've ever had.

This was my second time eating at Douzo and it was just as good as the first. Their sushi is outstanding and very unique - an explosion of flavors in your mouth. The crispy shrimp was amazing and I'll order two next time. My only criticism of the food would be the soup my daughter ordered - it was called "mushroom miso soup" but didn't resemble miso soup at all and was kind of tasteless. Everything else was amazing and would definitely return and recommend to my friends and family.

The server was as Good As It Gets she couldn't have been nicer. The food was all very good except for the Teriyaki steak overcooked to the point where you couldn't eat it we should have sent it back but chose not to. We would definitely return again..

Great place!

Slow service. Very very very slow. waitress was at one table spending 7-10 mins at a time with them. Other then that it was ok

Above average sushi but pricey. Ambiance was nice, but despite there being only a handful of other people, service was unusually slow.

Love the new pictorial menu. The Tuna Tataki is quite wonderful. The eggplant on a skewer is a disappointment and nowhere near as good as the now discontinued eggplant dish.
However all the specialty rolls are really good and they allow "modifications" to the rolls.
The seaweed salad is good and quite huge. Service is really superb.

Delicious!!! Thank you very much for a lovely evening. We will be back.

Sitting at the sushi bar is the move. Don’t order, just let them pick for you. Can’t lose.

Douzo is a gem in Back Bay. Surrounded by many overpriced touristy options, it's got the rare gift of authenticity combined with excellence. And you get all of this at reasonable prices in a great space. Try it! Only caveat is Shaun, the slightly weird, chatty bartender. . .head straight for the dining room.

Great B-Day Dinner!

The food and service was very good. The Sake expensive but broke tradition by serving in a wine glass? Friday night when we were there was after work, date night and busy.
Music was a little too loud and more modern pop than soothing jazz or modern Japanese.

Good but nothing special.

Very excited to find quality sushi! Excellent service and fresh food. A little pricey but worth the expense for a top notch meal.

So yummy, but we are heartbroken to not have the Summer roll on the menu any more! Not a problem when the crunchy roll is the best thing ever.

Best way to be reintroduced to sushi after having to avoid it during pregnancy. One of the best spots in Boston for delicious sushi!

The food was amazing! Our server was not. He never checked on us, the manager had to take our order, we had to ask the bussers for drink refills! Never even asked us how our food was and we had three courses. I thought that was very rude!! Shame because the food was amazing

Great sushi

My husband and I had dinner here Saturday (20 Jan 2018) night. We made reservations and was seated right away by the hostess who was very nice. Our server came over right awahile as well introduce herself and took drink orders. However, I think she may have forgotten about for a while because it took her forever to come back with the drinks (water and a Diet Coke). I had to stop another server to ask them to get her. Our server was nice just took her forever. The torched salmon appetizer was AMAZING!!!! Overall our experience was pretty good. We’ll for sure visit again. Thank you.

Great options with something interesting to try on every page of the menu. We loved all the sushi and everything else we tried. Service was good and the atmosphere was pleasant. We can't wait to go back
