Douzo Modern Japanese Restaurant
Everything was outstanding. Only two observations: our table was literally three fingers’ distance to the next, my dish had Siracha sauce not mentioned in the menu and I think it veils other flavors.
Duozo is My favorite spot! Love the shoshito peppers and the soft shell crab and the sushi!
My husband and I came here around 6:30 on a Friday night, and were able to be done at 7! Very quick and friendly service with amazing food. Definitely recommend!
Service was slow and it took 50min to get to the main sushi entree during lunch. The server was also not attentive.
Food was really sub-par and nothing comparable to the sushi I had from other restaurants. Will not going back.
The sushi is so good. Everything else is great too. Given the quality and location, the cost is fair.
Good food and a good vibe. had a reservation and got seated right away. Service was a little slow but nothing bad.
Excellent food and service.
The XO Toro was great.
Everything was excellent including the service. However, the staff who are responsible for taking away the plates were a bit too eager. At least 3 times my conversation with a friend was interrupted to ask if the plates could be taken, even though we still had food on the plates! One of those times, my plate was taken so I had no place to put the edamame shells; I had to flag down someone (of course not at the table when needed) to replace the plate. Be a bit more European and let customers enjoy their meals.
The food and service was fantastic!!
This is our favorite place! Their cocktails are excellent, sake selection is good, and service is always nice. The food quality is high enough for its reasonable price range and has the perfect balance between the Japanese authenticity and typical American modifications/innovations.
Delicious as always! Favorite sushi spot in Boston.
I think the only negative thing I can say was that their lunch menu is behind their desert menu, so I didn't see it, and would have preferred to pay 50 for 2 people to have lunch, as opposed to the 120 I paid. However, all the food that we had was excellent. Also, the dining room manager was very sweet and gave us a special table, as I had requested; I really appreciated that.
Out of town guests
A very pleasant dinner with good service and décor.
My friend and I are Douzo regulars because it never disappoints.
La calidad del pescado es espectacular
The best Japanese in Boston. Authentic!
Always terrific food, service and ambience
Good I would come back
Vacation time .
Love this restaurant and the food is exquisite.
Loved it. Shiitake mushroom soup, Tina tataki, salmon teriyaki, nigiri, pork buns, rice bowl. All yummy
Always a terrific dining experience at Douzo
Perfect! The food was fresh and creative. Menu was fun and extensive. Went with my wife and two daughters, we loved everything. All points covered, food, atmosphere, cleanliness, scene, service. A++ Will go back.
Delicious food. Excellent service.
Every bite was perfect, and the staff was super friendly and helpful with recommendations. Our server, Roland, was especially good with recommendations and anticipating our needs!
Roland was an outstanding waiter and suggested a few menu items that were terrific. The yellow tail sashimi was phenomenal. We had the toro that arrived flaming. The tuna tataki was really good. We had a California roll since every restaurant has a different version of this and it was also good. We also highly recommend the sumo roll- really nice!
Overall, great restaurant experience and we plan to be back!
Roland is excellent and we will ask for him!
Portions are small for the price and the food was ordinary. Service was pretty slow for the weekday lunch rush.
I made a reservation for 7:00 that was pushed off so often until 8:00 because we had a straggler in our group, but the hostess was really patient in pushing it back for us. The waitress was really friendly and all the food was delicious. The only downfall was that there are so many options, which was a little overwhelming. We sort of ordered in a lot of different sections, and none of them were bad choices! Highly recommend if you love Japanese food and a variety of selection!
Douzo is one of our favorite restaurants in Boston for sushi! It never disappoints. We came here for Mother's Day and it was perfect from start to finish. The make great cocktails -- I had the lychee martini, and then we ordered some starters. I highly recommend the crispy rice topped with spicy tuna and the steamed wagyu beef bun. Favorite special makimono (rolls) are the Phoenix roll and the Millennium. Must try!
Great as always. They had changed up the menu a bit since my last visit - still simply outstanding.
As always the sushi, sashimi and makimono rolls are superb and the best I've had outside of Japan. Douzo never lets me down.
The food was excellent--interesting and original roles . The sushi was fresh and tasty.
Great, fresh upscale sushi! Best in Boston.
We love the place and the food. The service was excellent.
Fanie, our server was fantastic. Food was excellent. All in all a great time.
Sushi was great, especially the wild salmon and uni with quail egg. Dragon roll was really good. Everything fresh. Only disappointments were the mushroom and eggplant kushi yaki (skewers). Both were tiny and smothered in a cloying sauce.
Douzo is my all time favorite sushi restaurant. Always so delicious and fresh
Food was amazing. Every dish we had was delicious. The spicy garlic sauce is the best sauce I’ve ever had. Can put in everything.
