Douzo Modern Japanese Restaurant
The spicy lobster miso soup was everything I would ever want in a miso, and the chef's selection of sashimi just melted in my mouth. We would recommend this place for any occasion. Superb.
When this reservation was booked it was marked under anniversary. Though we were seated right next to a loud dinner party of 10+ people and closely to other 2 party tables. The host is not looking at the reservation reason. What is the point of marking the reason?
I brought my daughter here for dinner - a break from her studies at Tufts Dental School. The drinks were really good - I recommend the cucumber martini! We shared appetizers and then rolls and everything was beautiful to look at and wonderful to eat!
Very nice restaurant, food was excellent but pricey. Only complaint was I felt like I we were sitting with another couple because the sitting was so close together. I would definitely go back again.
Was very pleased with this restaurant. Great food. The service was friendly, but was a tad slow.
Douzo was a great night out, The food was delicious and the cocktails were too... definitely recommend this place. The location is great as well, just a short walk to Copley/Newbury St etc
It was a great place to have a business meeting! If you go for an earlier lunch it’s still pretty quiet! Food is delicious and well paced!
I enjoyed my time at Duozo very much. The food was delicious and the value was excellent for the creatively crafted dishes.
Delicious and fresh as always. All time favorite - no where else beats Douzo!!
Ambiance was amazing but service felt mildly rushed. Food was amazing and at a decent price point.
Great surprise. Amazing food, friendly staff. Overall this was am incredible experience. Thanks
My favorite sushi place in Boston
My wife and I visited Douzo for a saturday night dinner. The restaurant has high reviews so we decided to give it a try. At 9pm we're promptly seated. The restaurant was busy but not overly crowded. The service was good. The ambience was ok, nothing particularly stood out. The menu was nicely laid out with pictures of different sushi which was quite helpful. The food presentation was moderate nothing spectacular. Overall a decent restaurant but not worth the hype.
Sushi always fresh. Great combo rolls. The spicy lobster miso soup is fabulous!!
Very good food and service
Food was excellent, would dine there again if in Boston, recommended for anyone.
Beautiful restaurant, delicious food, a must for sushi lovers!
Food was average at best and pricey. Rice for sushi is not supposed to be warm. Ordered yellowtail and got something light red...no chance it was actually yellowtail
Excelent restaurant. Thumbs up. Outstanding food and service.
Good one. Very nice food and service. Temperature was a little bit uncomfortable - too cold. In all in one of the best place in Boston
Douzo is excellent and Laura makes each visit special
Great food and choices ,wonderful favours , liked the picture menu and the small bite selection the service was friendly not rushed ,the place to go for sushi in Boston
A place to raccomend for the great food above all. Nice and quiet atmosphere and good service. Right prices considered the quality of food.
The food size is small. The taste and presentation is perfect! The service is very good.
Douzo is in my option the second best Japanese restaurant in Boston. Thumbs up for the food which is worth the price. Thumbs down for the wine list for which the following was true the other night.
Most of the list was not actually available. The waiter was essentially clueless on the wine. The manager who stepped in to help her was marginally better. The substitutions that were offered were passable. But $80 a bottle of red wine in any other quality restaurant would have been served not at 78 degrees but at 63degrees. Poor wine showing for a fab sushi place. Easy to fix both what the waiters know and to rewrite the list as it changes and to buy a wine fridge!
I will return soon!
Excellent food and service.
Quality of spicy lobster miso soup and sushi/sashimi was very poor. All they did for miso soup was put a couple pieces of day old lobster meat inside and a dollop of Chinese chili sauce. The sushi/sashimi quality and cuts of fish to begin with was sub par and the nigiri was actually warm when served, not cold/cool. I would not pay this amount of money and return. For this price I was expecting much more!!
The hostesses were good and the bus staff was diligent but waitress was a bit slow and not very attentive.
Loved the food and the ambiance but it was very close quarters and loud.
We arrived about 30 minutes before closing. Had a nice meal but had to make a hurried decision as they were shutting down. Good food overall.
Arranged a dinner for two. Asked for an got a very nice table in the back of the restaurant that was relatively quiet. Appetizers were terrific and then had the Chef's Selection of Sushi and two maki rolls. I definitely would go again and recommend to frientds
Everything was outstanding. Only two observations: our table was literally three fingers’ distance to the next, my dish had Siracha sauce not mentioned in the menu and I think it veils other flavors.
Duozo is My favorite spot! Love the shoshito peppers and the soft shell crab and the sushi!
My husband and I came here around 6:30 on a Friday night, and were able to be done at 7! Very quick and friendly service with amazing food. Definitely recommend!
Service was slow and it took 50min to get to the main sushi entree during lunch. The server was also not attentive.
Food was really sub-par and nothing comparable to the sushi I had from other restaurants. Will not going back.
The sushi is so good. Everything else is great too. Given the quality and location, the cost is fair.
Good food and a good vibe. had a reservation and got seated right away. Service was a little slow but nothing bad.
Excellent food and service.
The XO Toro was great.
Everything was excellent including the service. However, the staff who are responsible for taking away the plates were a bit too eager. At least 3 times my conversation with a friend was interrupted to ask if the plates could be taken, even though we still had food on the plates! One of those times, my plate was taken so I had no place to put the edamame shells; I had to flag down someone (of course not at the table when needed) to replace the plate. Be a bit more European and let customers enjoy their meals.
The food and service was fantastic!!
