Wonderful dinner in their private room for 8 people.
Best restaurant in Greenwich
Food is consistently great. Staff is warm and attentive, and there's nothing like it around. Love the owners too.
Delicious and wonderful variety of small plates and entrees. Excellent friendly and professional staff.
I wholeheartedly recommend Douro -- food is always fresh and fabulous!
We have been to Douro several time over the years. I usually get an Appetizer and a Paella. This time I tried a special beef and pork belly Entree. I did not love the special but will return for more Paella.
Great restaurant.the food is great as is the service
Always a fantastic meal. We enjoy eating at the bar -- Frank is the best bartender and makes you feel at home.
Just a relaxing evening as usual with great dishes!!
Always great food and friends. Chef Rui has an awesome personality and always fun to spend time with.
Staff was wonderful. Food delicious and plated tastefully. Slightly expensive even for small plates but I would definitely return. Sadly, did not see any accessible entry.
This is one of my fave places....food is just great and original. Highly recommend for lunch or dinner.
I really like Douro, it’s my go to restaurant when I just want to go somewhere cozy with good food. Staff really nice and it has a happy atmosphere!
We have been to Douro on several special occasions and it has always been a wonderful experience. I love that we can have small plates to share or large plates to share if we want...
Great wine selection. Great place to celebrate anything in a warm and comfortable environment.
The food is ok albeit portions a little small. We had a reservation at 6 and had been finished with our dinner and paid our bill by 8. We were having a good time and still wanted to chat. The Manager came over to us and rudely told us we have to leave because he needed to give the table to another patron. I understand they wanted the table but he could have been nicer about it and/or offered us a drink for our trouble. Left a bad taste in my mouth and they should have told us when they seated us that we had to be out by 8 which they failed to do.
While the service was quite good, the food was not as good as we had hoped. There isn't much ambiance; but it was quiet and made for a good place to eat and chat during a weekday evening.
Tapas and sangria was outstanding !
Consistently very good food and wonderful staff
Always a fine meal.
Our party of four enjoyed Douro very much. The food is expertly prepared and delicious.
Douro also has an extensive selection of wines. The waiters are very efficient and courteous.
Went to this bar and bistro for lunch. The menu presented traditional options with a Portuguese flair. I had a chicken sandwich, while my date tried a falafel one. The sandwiches were tasty and little different. A nice alternative option to the more traditional fare. FYI - there are plenty of options for those that are vegetarian.
Food was great, pricey for the portion. Accommodating staff.
Excellent service and good food
Wonderful food,wine and service.
Best dining we have recently tried on the Avenue. The menu was varied and extensive. Very nice selection of craft cocktails w seasonal specials. Service was average, with many handoffs. When we arrived early, we sat at the bar for a drink. For a full bar of 20 people, many who were dining there, there was at times only 1 bartender, which led to slow service. This was the opposite we experienced at our table when at least 5 different people were taking orders, delivering food and handling the check. Other than working at the staffing ratios/roles, which can certainly be attributed to newly opening, Douro was a really fantastic meal. Will definitely be back.
A true delight!
Never disappointed - always enjoyable. Staff very friendly, will continue to eat there.
Everything was good. Food and ambience were good. Service was very good.
Always very tasty tapas and tacos and their Portuguese chips are just delicious
I just really like Douro, never been disappointed in either the atmosphere or the food or the service. It's a very pleasant neighborhood restaurant with good food.
Decent decoration. Food is delicate and abundant. Waitress/waiters are friendly.
We celebrated my son's birthday (26 years old) and he is a foodie. He, my ex, another son and myself were very impressed with the evening. especially the food which was outstanding.
We followed recommendations and ate paella and salmon. Very nice. My only complaint is I had to order cookies in order to get biscotti with my coffee.
+ Friendly and attentive staff
+ Plan to take over larger, more impressive space
+ New venue will be centrally located in a part of Greenwich Avenue that has less demand for parking at night
+ House wines are quite good value
+ Large nickel bar with interesting crowd.
+ There are some bright spots on the menu, such as the Brussels sprouts, house salad and flatbread
- Most of the dishes are a bit heavy and rather predictable in taste.
-For a wine bar, there is little correlation between the food and the wine.
Good menu and quality food. Had the salmon and was very good.
Excellent food. My only complaint was empanadas. Everything else was excellent especially pistachio brûlée! Will come back !
What a great restaurant, starting with Chef Rui greeting us and welcoming us, as it appears he did with all the diners. All the food was prepared beautifully and very delicious. I had the Dorado with roasted cauliflower puree, brussel sprouts and oven roasted tomatoes. The fish was so fresh and delicious. My husband had a pureed Gazpacho soup, tuna taco and fried burrata, all delicious. Our drinks and dessert were delicious, as well.
We really enjoyed the warmth and friendliness of the staff.
We look forward to returning.
Just awesome all around!
We really enjoyed ourselves there: food was very really good and innovative, different than most restaurants in the area, it's Portuguese cuisine. We liked everything except our table (way in the back in a corner where we couldn't really enjoy the ambiance, we were also next to a very loud group). It was our first time for dinner (I had gone for lunch and had really enjoyed it, we also had a much better table). We will be back!!
