Always a pleasure from servers to ambiance and cuisine!!
Food was very good; everyone in party was happy. Service was a bit slow, but very professional and helpfu.
The food was good , but they lack a cocktail menu variety. The cocktails we had were not that great.
When you get into the restaurant you are presented with this beautiful architecture. What an amazing place. Was greeted by the hostess that offered to seat me even thou my date was late. The vibe in this place, music, staff was enthusiastic. We had a Tequila Spritz, lemon lime caipirina and Roska (sorry if I spelled it wrong), not a long list of cocktail but very good cocktails. We only order appetizers, hummus with cucumber, shrimp empanada, cod fritters, brussels, chicken and tuna taco. With Portuguese roots let me tell you, went back there when I tasted the shrimp empanadas and the cod fritters. Hummus was a first for me and I'm a fan, Brussels was good (I'm not a fan), the tacos with that special spicy, yummm.
We had a great night, will be back for sure to try some entrees next time and for sure have that "back to the roots".
FYI: All staff masked, didn't know that we were back to mask indoors.
Had a great time for lunch for my Dad’s birthda. Gazpacho, and ceviche were amazing. All the food was great.
Thank you for taking such great care of us!!
To be honest it wasn’t that special of a night, the food was ok— but for the price it lacked great flavor and was somewhat basic. At the end of the night they credit card machine wasn’t working so they asked us to either pay in cash or leave our credit card number which seemed questionable. The bill was pretty high so having to pull together the cash to make that happen was awkward— and there wasn’t really anything said on the inconvenience. The servers were all pleasant but just seemed like for a nicer higher price point menu that it all could have been more special.
Paella was very good. Grilled octopus appetizer was delicious. Meatballs didn’t have any flavor. Garlic shrimp wasn’t really garlicky. Mediterranean chicken was fabulous.
I always enjoy going there. The food was as always very good. The staff were very nice, I think they are understaffed, like every other restaurant, not their fault. Everyone always nice and an enjoyable evening.
Salad was fishy and expensive for what it was
We requested outside seating and we were seated right away. Probably took 10-15 minutes before our drink order was taken. We decided on our dinner choices pretty quickly but had to ask 2x for a waitress to take the order, probably another 15 minutes. Taco appetizer was good however $8 for a single small taco was a bit pricey. Paella Valencia was good and priced reasonably but 3 small (tiny)clams and 2 really small shrimp left a bit to be desired. Not sure if we will return.
Douro is now a staple of my list of go to restaurants in Greenwich. The waiter Carlos provided exceptional service and made Duoro #1 on my list.
Food was excellent. Try the vegetable Pallela! Interesting and eclectic atmosphere.
food was okay- really bland and not worth it! overall experience was great.
The food was really not good and the cocktails weren't good either. Cool space
The food is more American than Portuguese. It was a bit disappointing if are looking for variety.
We had an excellent dining experience
Great service and phenomenal ambiance. The food was, unfortunately, subpar. I believe my Greek salad had a yogurt or some dressing derived from caesar? Definitely recommend if you’re in town for some drinks and a beautiful backdrop.
Just not great
Food was not good. Mushy pasta. Dishes served with an egg on top- pasta, Brussels sprouts ( which were supposed to be runny when cut open) were rock solid.
Service was fair. Not worth the money- will not go back.
Consistently good food and service! Lovely to sit outside this time of the year.
A bit pricey but it is Greenwich. Crispy artichokes were not crispy. Flavor was good but not crispy at all. Poke was very good as well as the carbonara.
not impressed by food, or service for this Greenwich establishment. My servier had zero personality and it was like we where doing her a favor by coming in.
Wont be back.
It tasted as if everything was microwaved. The coffee was cold when brought out - instead of making a new pot it was microwaved…and still just warm. The paella was dry, pizza tasted out of a box. Tuna taco was very good and the ambiance was quite nice. Overall disappointment
The ambience and service were great! While the appetizers were subpar, specifically the meatballs, the honey spiced chicken was amazing.
Food was okay, but not for the price. Service was not great
Beautiful restaurant this is my 2nd time going and they had an off day. Food took very long to come out, the pizza was soggy, I found a bone in my chicken empanadas and a hair in my mushroom. At least my entrees were good. I'm not really one to complain especially during these times where restaurants are struggling so can't give out free food so I only let the server know about bone which I almost choked on. The mushrooms I just took the L on it.. Not worth the $170 spent on lunch. Will I be back? Probably not
Love the space and the food!
Food was just not very good and overpriced. Not really Mediterranean or Portuguese. Douro should rebrand as “don’t go”.
Always a pleasure, from the cuisine to ambiance!!
Douro continues to be a Greenwich gem. The food and wine are great, and the new space is charming, elegant, fun and romantic. The octopus appetizer was particularly outstanding, and the Douro wine never disappoints.
Food was nothing special, plastic cups for sauces felt cheap, and the paella was like something a drunk college student puts together after a night of drinking. The prices did not reflect the level of food quality.
First time there- food was very good and service was also excellent. Will definitely be going back.
Meatball had a piece of plastic in it. Shrimp tasted a bit old.
Good meal, very pleasant service, beautiful interior. First class restaurant
Really terrific food. One of my favorites in Greenwich.
Always a pleasure!
Customers were loud. Several were even having loud cell phone conversations at their tables. Service was pleasant and knowledgeable but slow during the busy part of the night. Me I was nice and small plates were pretty good.
We miss the old Douro! The apps were good but the seafood paella was so disappointing. We were used to the dish being chock full of seafood but instead it was chock full of chicken. My husband thought new space was beautiful but I miss the cozy ambience of the previous two spaces.
Sadly, we won’t be going back.
From the atmosphere to cuisine and staff, always a relaxing evening!!
