Great experience with Double Knot. Service was attentive and helpful on our first trip through the menu. Will return!
Great food and atmosphere
Dinner very good
Service was very rushed
Not to mention my friends coat was stolen from your cloak room
Best birthday dinner ever!
DAVID WAS AMAZING. THAT IS ALL 🖤
A truly unique dining experience from start to finish. The ambiance and decor set the tone for an amazing meal. The tasting menu is the best way to sample more of the exciting menu and is paced perfectly. The staff is informative yet laid back and help to create a relaxed , enjoyable evening Don’t forget the sake flight and to save room for the entree dishes !
The food was excellent and very accommodating to our eating habits. Everything we tried was delicious. The waitress and staff were very friendly and helped to make the large menu a lot less intimidating. Highly recommend trying the Chefs Sampler.
We did the tasting menu and loved the experience of being surprised by the many creative and diverse dishes presented. There was a plentiful amount of food and well worth the price.
Great experience as always.
The tasting menu is the way to go and the cocktails are clever and tasty!
My new favorite restaurant! The chef’s tasting menu is very worth it, and allows you to pick a selection from each section, plus mochi dessert imported from Japan! Wonderful food, great service, will be going again!
Wine by the glass does NOT fit the image of the restaurant.....charging over $10 per glass of wine for VENDAGE is disappointing......besides that......I'd call it the BEST restaurant in PHILLY right now!
Tasting menu is a MUST to give you the opportunity to really enjoy all that the restaurant has to menu. The variety of options enables you to have an "explosion" of tastes. Definitely worth a return visit!
Fabulous food ! Great setting in the downstairs dining room , intimate lighting and Japanese industrial chic decor but warmer . Loved the sushi and the bao in fact I could not fault a thing . Highly enjoyable with great food and wine
A friend recommended Double Knott to us, and we're glad he did! We were led to a back door that took us downstairs to where the chef prepares the meals and two other distinct seating areas. I won't spoil the initial reveal for anyone, but it was awesome. My only complaint is the area we were sat in had little to no light to read the menu. I had to tilt the menu towards the small candle on the table to see anything. Right across from us you could see there was more lighting and more comfortable seating. We selected the chef's tasting menu of 10 items, and each item was amazing. There wasn't an item that I wouldn't be happy to eat again. We were there for my birthday, and at the end of our meal there was a sparkler in the dessert we ordered. It was a nice, subtle way to celebrate. As a person that doesn't enjoy a chorus line of staff singing to me, this small gesture was perfect.
The best restaurant the City has to offer. The ambiance, service and food is impeccable. Have been here numerous times and it only gets better with each visit. We live in the City and take full advantage of the amazing dining it has to offer, but Double Knot is a "Must" to experience.
Probably my favorite restaurant in the city. Just brought a bunch of friends from out of town to have a night out and we had such an amazing time. Dustin took great care of us at the table and Miles and Julie popped by often to check on us. Amazing dining experience as always.
Food was great (as always) but long wait for table (as always). Reservation was at 8:30 pm and didn’t get seated until 9:00 pm. Then we couldn’t get a waitress to take our order until 9:30 pm.
Enjoyed everything about the evening. Group of 4, we all had the chefs tasting menu. Each course was better than the last. The service was the best ever. Can’t wait to return!!!!
Repeat customers - every time is as good as the last and the tasting menu never fails to satisfy.
Staff is friendly and eager to help. Could not ask for more.
A great evening with family celebrating a birthday
Highlight recommend the chef's tasting menu if you've never been before! We picked a few of our selections and let the chef do the rest. Everything was fantastic. We went on a Tuesday night and it was very full. Seating can be a little tight, but still comfortable.
Double Knot continues to be my favorite restaurant in Philadelphia. My girlfriend and I have eaten there three times and every time has been outstanding in every way.
Food and ambiance was amazing; highly recommended!
The food was delicious. I think my favorite dish was the beef robotayaki.
Everyone loved the food and ambiance. They did not rush us even though we were there for hours.
It was amazing! We got the tasting menu and everything was delicious! Can’t wait to go back! Would recommend this to everyone!
We sat at the bar while we waited for our table and liked the experience so much we ditched the table to eat at the bar. The bartender was awesome, attentive and efficient. The happy hour specials were an amazing value. The black cod fried rice, the pork dumplings, and the crab sui mei were all excellent. I'm a nerd who can't handle complicated food with chopsticks and the bartender did not offer a side of judgement with my fork, which I appreciated. Great atmosphere and delicious food - can't remember when (if ever) I've given a restaurant five stars in every category.
Had a great experience. From the setting to the service and of course the food...everything was beyond our expectations. If I had one bit of constructive criticism it would be that it was somewhat dark which made reading the menu difficult for some people. We chose the Chefs Selection so the menu was not a problem for us.
Great place. The food was amazing, we did the tasting menu and didn’t regret it. Wide selection of food options, and fresh with a Japanese flair. Also great, that there is a speakeasy dining experience below. I would definitely go back.
Amazing food and great service! I can’t wait to go back!
Ryan H was our server. Fantastic.
Cant go wrong with Double Knot
I've been wanting to experience Double Knot's downstairs for ages now-and I'm so grateful for the chance! Had the tasting menu and absolutely an experience-overwhelming in pace, but absolutely some gems of dishes amongst them! The Double Knot's take an on an Old Fashioned was also a fun experience. Worth your time!
I absolutely loved every part of this meal. My boyfriend and I opted into the tasting menu - it is absolutely worth every penny! The cocktails are outstanding. I highly recommend this place.
One word: OUTSTANDING!!!
Great experience as always
Absolutely fantastic. Great date night spot! We will be back.
I’ve lived in Japan for 16 years, and I am familiar with its traditional cuisine. Double knot does a great job building on the original and taking it to the next level.
Our server, Matti (Maddy?), was very knowledgeable, and had great hints to offer on every course. We shall return.
Very much enjoyed our Double Knot dinner! A little dark, a little funky/broken-up in design, the table where we sat (downstairs) was terrific for conversation--we could hear one another, even though sushi was being rolled and hot food being cooked just behind us and we were surrounded by other diners having conversations.
Though one of our diners is celiac and also vegetarian, we were all 4 able to do the Chef's Tasting Menu (10 selections + a mochi for dessert)--there were enough gluten-free/vegetarian (GF/V) options to completely satisfy!
Would definitely order again:
Cold: Hearts of Palm Salad (yuzu, scallion, radish), which was one of the GF/V dishes and fabulous, fresh, and bright.
Small: Pork Gyoza (relish, scallion, ginger) and Pastrami Pork Belly Bao (Russian dressing, smoked mustard, cucumber). The bao bun was the winner (for me) of the evening, though the pork gyoza came in second, as it was somehow baked into a scallion pancake--best of two worlds!
Robatayaki: Tokyo Scallion and Short Rib. I first had robatayaki scallion in Japan, and this lived up to it--such terrific flavor! The short rib was also great--very tender.
Sides: Crispy Brussel Sprouts (shishito, fish sauce, crispy rice)--definitely an example of brussel sprouts done right!
Sushi/Sashimi: Spicy Tuna Roll.
PS. The Monekys Fist (sake, coconut, pineapple syrup, lime, chili) cocktail was well received by the diner who ordered it, and fellow diners who'd initially scoffed thinking it'd be too sweet tasted and thought it delicious.
Incredible food and ambience! I loved this place and the wait staff was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. Fantastic service! All-around wonderful experience!
