Absolutely wonderful experience! The ONLY slight critique I did have was that I thought we would be getting more food with the chef's tasting. We weren't full when we left but we were deeply satisfied with all of the flavours.
The food and service are very good. The place was packed, dark and interesting. The end.
One of the best restaurants I've ever been to!!!!!
Excellent food and service, great bartenders and super attentive staff.
Really great food and service. We were seated almost immediately upon arrival and our coats were checked. Our waiter was kind and had great recommendations. We were never rushed and had a fabulous time.
I LOVED this place, an amazing hole in the wall. So happy that I had a chance to dine here. I WILL be going back soon. The atmosphere is AMAZING and the food....dont get me started. Perfect place for a romantic date.
The food was amazing, and the cocktails were delicious. Highly recommend the paper sling and the duck scrapple bao buns. Really enjoyed the chef's tasting menu, and staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. But the pacing was a bit fast, especially as we got to the bigger plates. Overall, wonderful experience. Can't wait to go back and try more.
We had the tasting menu and the food was just ok. Some dishes were very good and others not. One fish was fishy tasting and the duck was dry and the taste off. Have been here before and it was fantastic. The food was not worth the money. Everything else was wonderful and above average.
Food was amazing and we enjoyed the small plate experience. The decor and ambiance was very cool with a candle lit feel in the whole restaurant.
A must try!!!!
Double Knot is amazing. The Chef's Tasting is 100% worth it for first timers! You get to pick an item from each section of the menu allowing you to get a taste of everything. The robatayaki items are my favorite! Such a cool atmosphere too!
Food and service is wonderful and I even learned a new phrase for describing a sake that I had: approachable
Delicious! Great service! One of my favorite places in Philly.
Favorite place to eat out of everywhere I’ve been to in NYC, Vegas, DC, or Philly. Whenever in town always must come to Doubleknot. They understand how to use ingredients and capture nuanced flavors correctly.
Amazing atmosphere very cozy and romantic.
The food and service are great
Been there several times. Very disappointed in this meal. Had friends come from out of town just to try this restaurant. We were extremely disappointed with the food which was was too salty. Service was mediocre. Definitely not the A-team on service tonight.
Great food, creative combinations. Ambiance is dark and noisier than noisy!
This is one of my favorite hidden gems in Philadelphia. Cool place to impress. Food is OUTSTANDING. You don’t have to eat or like sushi to dine here and have an incredible meal. Hidden entry, one of a kind and intimate setting, attentive service, menu... all just perfect. Rib eye w/scallion skewers, shoshito? peppers, Brussels sprouts, cod fried rice.... EVERY one of our 15+small plates was memorable.
My husband and I ate at Double Knot for our anniversary. It was a perfect choice. At first, when we walked in, the ambiance was dark, loud and crowded. I was questioning my choice. But when we were taken downstairs the vibe was amazing. There was quiet music, beautiful decor, very professional and friendly staff and delicious food. We got one tasting menu and six other small plates. Every single fish was better than the next. I would suggest the tasting menu. It is SO much food and so delicious. Each dish arrives pretty quickly and the staff explains what’s in each dish when it arrives. My husband decided not to have the mochi that came with his tasting menu so our waiter, who was amazing, surprised us with a sparkler and two strawberry yogurts. That was such a nice and thoughtful touch. The Rib eye robatayaki was amazing. We loved the tuna tartare and the chicken takisoba was so good. We didn’t choose the chefs tasting. We let them surprise us and they did such a good job choosing! We will be back next time we’re in philly. A MUST go!!!
Always delicious and fresh
Absolutely exceptional all around (per usual). Service was excellent— they even comp’d some sashimi because they were a few minutes late seating us for our reservation. Drinks and food were exceptional, and everyone left extremely satisfied. Thank you for a perfect evening out!
Never a bad experience. Food and service are always great.
We dined here last week for the first time. We eat at next door sister restaurant Sampan often. We were told how fabulous DK is so decided to try. We were a party of three and unfortunately their only seating for 3 was a booth made for 2 with the third sitting on top of patron behind. The hostess noticed I was not pleased and offered to move us, we stayed as we had already ordered drinks. They did make a lovely effort to accommodate us and we appreciated their hospitality. We were also sent a complimentary small plate. The food was definitely above average. However the scallion plate was impossible to eat as it was way too stringy and the asparagus robatayaki was tough and flavorless. Everything else we had was good. I would try again as the service was quite top notch. I just hope the food matches this time!
The food was great. The only thing that made the experience not worth 5 stars is how fast the food was brought out. They played 7 dishes in front of us at once which first made it cluttered and second made it so overwhelming it took away from the meal. There was physically no more room in front of us and they just kept moving dishes around so everything could be in front of us. I have been here multiple times and never had it like this before. That is my only complaint
The restaurant was wonderful. The food wonderful. The service wonderful—EXCEPT—it was too rushed to be able to truly savor such a lovely experience. I know the plates are small (and the value excellent) but 10 courses in one hour! Raise the price and don’t turn over the tables quite so fast. Allow your guests to enjoy an exquisite dinner.
Other than very dimly lit atmosphere, EVERYTHING about this place is amazing!
Ive had the privilege of traveling around the world for my work and getting to try all different types of food and restaurants so you can imagine my pleasant surprise and joy to experience a top 5 best meal of my life in my hometown of Philadelphia! Double Knot was incredible. I actually teared up trying their yellowtail sashimi - the portion of crunchy to salty was perfection. Our waitress was attentive, playful and authentic in her observations of us as a table. The atmosphere was brilliant. The only disappointment which was just a I wish I hadnt ordered that dish disappointment and wasted space in my stomach was the fried chicken.
We did the testing menu and it was amazing
Best restaurant in the city
Sooooo delicious! Wonderful atmosphere and knowledgeable, friendly staff :)
We had a great server and relaxing pre theater dinner
The server offered me a vegan menu which was perfect.
We tried a few things & had an amazing Double Knot cocktail. We are downstairs & hope to be back soon
Amazing experience! From the room to the staff and most certainly the food, my twin sister and I had a fantastic birthday celebration. We let the chef pick the tasting menu and loved all ten courses. Highly recommend the chefs tasting option.
The food and service were quite outstanding! The menu is quite extensive, so we ordered the tasting menu. They just kept bringing out one delicious dish after another.
Best sushi in Philly. Stunning restaurant, service, and cuisine.
Great food and atmosphere . A bit of a wait to be seated
I sat at the bar and the bartender was really helpful in picking out a bunch of small plates which were all amazing.
This place is AMAZING! Sushi is delicious! All the food is delicious! Great service and staff. Can't wait until the next time I return
Live this place! Second time there. Traveling for business and this is now my “go to” place when in Philadelphia! Everything from the food to the service is OUTSTANDING! Thank you Double Knot for creating another great memory!
Great food, terrible portions-even for asian fusion tapas
We love Double Knot! This was our third time, and it is consistently wonderful. Fantastic ambience, excellent food - go for the tasting menu - it's creative, delicious, and always surprising! my only slight complaint is that even with a reservation there's sometimes a wait. but it's well worth it when you go down to the cave of wonders!
Over all good food and great service enjoy the vibe
