First opening doors in late 2015 in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood, Dos is a partnership between husband and wife team, Chef Brian Enyart (14-year veteran of Frontera Grill/Topolobampo) and Pastry Chef Jennifer Jones Enyart (Charlie Trotter’s, Topolobampo).

Inspired by the boldness and bounty of Mexico, the menu is an original interpretation of Mexican cuisine that embraces contemporary flavors and ingredients.

Since opening, the restaurant has been named one of Chicago Magazine’s Top 5 “Best New Restaurants” and a recipient of The Michelin Guide’s 2017 Bib Gourmand. Dos has received a multitude of recognitions from the Chicago Tribune, including the 2017 Reader’s Choice Award winner for Best Happy Hour, 2017 Critic’s Choice Award winner for Pastry Chef of Year, as well as being hailed as “the most important Mexican restaurant since Topolobampo” by Phil Vettel.

The food was phenomenal! Loved everything we ate. The drinks were delicious too. It was a packed restaurant for a Friday night, but service was very slow. Took us more than 20 minutes to order drinks and over 45 to order food because the waiter didn’t come around. Maybe they were short staffed, but some warning would have been fine.

Food was great overall but service was abysmal. At one point I ordered my cocktail 3 times before it was brought to the table. Will go back as the food, atmosphere, and energy was terrific as a whole!

This was my second time at this restaurant and I was very disappointed by the flavors. The food presentation was beautiful but what does it matter if the taste was horrible.

I wish they'd go back to their old ways.

AMAZING food. Highly recommended! LOVED the roasted cauliflower, grilled mushrooms with mole and chestnut cornbread, wood grilled spaghetti squash, sweet corn tamal. Really liked the carnitas, chicharron tostada, octopus al pastor, and my least favorite was the asparagus salad, but it was still good! They even sent us home with a complimentary coconut tres leches cake, and that was delicious as well! I’d say skip the drinks- both alcoholic and nonalcoholic. The food is where it’s at. Our server didn’t think we could finish what we ordered, but we did. Plus, the worst that could have happened is we’d have leftovers......

Both appetizers we got - chips & dips, and tamal tots - were very good. Pumpkin seed hummus dip was quite different! Decent selection of vegetarian options. Interesting cocktails too. Our server was excellent - very attentive & well-mannered. Definitely recommend for a date night.

Overall the place is a great find and worth going back every time. The serivce staff overall is great. There are a few servers who are bit of a miss. The buss boys are are fantastic. Your water glass will never be empty and you will always have a clean plate. You can’t go wrong with any items on the menu but I never thought I would saying “ have to get the chicken wings” in a cantina but, they are fantastic.

I love this place! Sitting at the bar and sharing food and great drinks, or having a group together in the dining room, or taking your kids to early brunch or dinner, this place is great for any occasion. I think about the carnitas way more than anyone should but they are delectable. Great food, great environment!

I have been to Dos Urban Cantina for happy hour twice now and it is one of my favorite happy hours because there are not just great drinks on the happy hour menu but also some tapas-like appetizers. This list of menu items changes seasonally, keeping it always interesting. I just went last week and they had GRASSHOPPERS on the menu. So cool!

Great food and atmosphere. The staff was awesome - very knowledgeable about the food and gave great feedback about recommendations specific to the interest of the group. I've been there for dinner - which I love - but I especially love the Sunday brunch menu. The special was a goat cheese mole which what especially good and the cinnamon rolls are incredible.

OUT. STANDING. These guys are phenomenal! We went for my birthday, and had a truly fantastic meal! I have a ton of food allergies, and after providing my list of "no-no's" to the restaurant, they put together not only a 3 course meal that was to die for, but additionally, they came up with a dessert that was safe for me to have, which I can honestly say, no other restaurant in Chicago has done! Most places, while making an effort, usually end up give you a bowl of fruit. Not Dos! I had a coconut cream, guava, and delicious granola type of dessert that passed all of my painfully difficult restrictions. These guys are the best, most conscientious and attentive in Chicago! When you go, to make your occasion that much better, be sure to ask for Evan. You won't find a better person to provide you with a perfect meal. Looking forward to seeing you guys again really soon!

After a number of dishes from across the menu arrived at our table, the grilled mushrooms was by far our favorite. Another top contender was sweet corn tamal. Both margarita options could use some work. House seemed really sweet and top shelf was a little bitter.

I cannot compliment this place enough. The overall experience from start to finish was wonderful. I arrived about 5 minutes before my reservation and was seated quickly. The server was very attentive and knowledgeable on the menu selections. His recommendations were spot on. We had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners, who was genuinely warm and inviting.

Since it was our first time there, we ordered the Chicken in Adobo, Braised Short Rib, and Crispy Brussle Sprouts to split and sample a little of all 3. The only way that I can describe the food properly is that you could taste the different elements. The spices and herbs all paired and blended so well, one did not over power the other. We finished off with the Chocolate Cake, which was true perfection.

This was our second visit to the restaurant and although we felt that the restaurant was average after our first visit, we decided to give it another try as we were going to an event near the restaurant. After our second visit, I can not recommend this restaurant. The food was average and overpriced. The seafood coctel was tasteless and salty and the carnitas were bland as well. The "best" dish was the vegetarian curry dish. Our service was slow (it took 20 minutes to get a glass of wine).

There are so many better Mexican restaurants at a fraction of the price that we can not recommend this restaurant.

Service was fantastic and people were really friendly. We showed up really early for our reservation and they very kindly sat us early.

Food was very good and well prepared but nothing I haven’t had before. (Except for the tots)
