Our waitress, Elizabeth, was absolutely outstanding. We were late for our reservation, but she made sure that our food was out in time to get us to our show on time.
Fun place, good food & drinks. Located inside W Hotel Times Square.
Great food, fabulous location if going to Broadway. Helpful wait staff. Drinks amazing!! Great night out with friends.
If you just view this spot from street level you may be underwhelmed. Lots of tourist traffic sitting at the counters. However, venture downstairs and it's a different story. Open and quiet and very good food. Liz our waitstaff was funny and helpful with the menu. The only downside for me was a limited beer menu.
I hadn’t been for some years so I was pleasantly surprised by all of the fresh ingredients, low fat options, reliance on fruits and vegetables if desired. A good experience.
Manager Nick is an excellent representative of this restaurant.
The food was excellent as always. The service was a bit slow but the servers were extremely busy. We were disappointed that there was no espresso or decaf coffee to be had. The noise level was a bit over the top so we had no choice but to talk loudly in order to be heard.
Delicious food, excellent service. All right in Times Square. I will definitely be back.
I love all the BR Guest restaurants so I was excited to try Dos Caminos when I had theater tickets with friends who also liked Mexican food. I was very disappointed. While the food was delicious, the ambience felt like I was in a fast food dungeon. It was dark and dreary and very noisy. I will not return.
My husband and I have eaten at most of the Dos Caminos in the city and we were disappointed in the Times Square restaurant. The food was not up to their usual deliciousness and the bathrooms have seen better days. However, our waiter, Bruno, was absolutely fabulous. He did not rush us, always had my water glass filled, refilled chips and the salsa that he saw that we most enjoyed without asking. I inadvertently spilled my drink and he immediately replaced it-no charge (it was mostly full). I have not enjoyed such wonderful service in many years.
Overpriced & barely adequate food quality. Living off of location
The food was super delicious.
Fantastic experience with out waiter Kerrvin Our kids have food allergies and he took care of their needs. Made us feel comfortable and his attention to detail was fantastic. Highly recommend. Food was delicious at a good price. Wish they had a Dos Caminos back home.
Staff, Chef and Manager were very accommodating and receptive to constructive feedback. Definitely returning to Dos Caminos Times Square.
Dined here because we were seeing a musical around the corner. Our server had way too many tables as he brought my husband the wrong drink to start. Then brought our entrees while we were having appetizers leaving us no room on the table for everything. Couldn't he have waited? Our quesadillas and surf and turf dishes were very ordinary. Same for guacamole. Not a fan, won't be returning. Our tip reflected that as well.
I was really expecting to have my socks knocked off after seeing this place on Mike Colameco. It was just ok. The guacamole was really good but the chili reyano was rather boring. The short ribs with mole that was featured on the show was good, but I wouldn't run back for any of it. The waitstaff was attentive so I thought it rather odd that they brought the check without offering coffee or dessert. There are better places out there.
Meh not worth it
Really tasty food and great friendly service. The guacamole is awesome! Will definitely go back again in the next few days before leaving NY.
Dos Caminos staff went out of their way to makes us feel special as we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. As always, the food is second to none and the Prickly Pear Cactus Margarita is out of this world. We will return when we visit NYC again!
I was promised the best guacamole in NY, when you promise that to a Nyer you'd better live up to it. It did not. It was bland and needed fresh herbs. I found there to be an overall lack of herbs and spices in all the food we ordered. The mild salsa that was served with the chips was the tastiest thing we ate. Great service, really pretty and quiet place( downstairs). I love that there were vegetarian options. Just don't scimp on the flavor and spices though.
Good quality food but the service was not great. Waiter forgot the drinks, forgot something else and then when I paid forgot to bring me back my credit card as he misplaced it. Spent some time looking for it and eventually it appeared. Hope this was a once off as the food was good and I want to go again.
Had a 7:30 reservation. I was not excited when they ushered us to the basement for seating. You're not able to people watch from there and are isolated with other diners and service staff. But, the service was great. the waiter was very attentive and professional. The food was excellent and surpassed my expectations.
Entree arrived at least 5 min before first course of simple chips and salsa... cocktail took even longer.
Food, ambiance and service was amazing! Our waiter Josh was very attentive! will be returning with coworkers!
Having a restaurant in Times Sq New York is no joke but maintaining standards and consistency is important. I found the service poor. The server did not pay attention to the table and delayed to order or bring food. Overall ambience was nothing special.
The service was great! Food came out fast too. For a table of 2 we were only there 35 minutes and didn't feel rushed.
Great meal! Food and service were excellent. Our whole family--kids included--found lots of delicious options. Our kids had tacos (there's a very affordable platter) and the adults were equally pleased with our choices (steak and chicken). The server was also attentive and very careful about allergy concerns, which is a big help when traveling with kids.
Did not have wines on list....and it was a short list! Food was mediocre and not hot on delivery. Good guacamole though.
A very interesting menu, our entrees were very good. Really good food if you consider it is in Times Sq which isn't known for it's fine dining restaurants, The noise level is high but after a drink and appetizers one becomes accustomed and can converse without difficulty.
I enjoyed the experience overall. I started with the Shrimp guacamole and it was delicious. I had a blood orange margherita to go with it. It came in a small glass. I usually expect a margherita to be in a tall glass. Then for the main entree i had the chicken quesadilla which was also very good. The meal was pretty expensive but considering its located right in times square everything is expensive. I loved the music selection and the ambience of the restaurant. I plan on staying longer next time if i can catch the live music.
So happy we found this gem of a Mexican Restaurant right in the middle of TS on a Saturday night (early 8pm dinner). We were a little questionable about the revolving door entry and "small diner" look at street level, but were pleasantly surprised when we headed down a set of stairs to the dinning room. Very warm, homey, authentic, yummy place to eat with excellent servers. And they do pitchers of Margaritas to boot. Highly recommend this place, and can't wait to come back.
We had an amazing meal here after seeing Spongebob Square Pants on Broadway. The food was unique and just plain delicious! Our service was a little slow and we needed to remind our server about a couple of items that were forgotten, but he was very nice. The place was crowded, so understood. The prices are a bit high, but that's because of the great Times Square location. Make sure to make reservations. It was jam-packed, even at 5:15 PM.
If this review was based solely on service I would rate a 5. Our server was attentive and kind. We visited Dos Caminos for a birthday. The manager on duty was extremely kind and came by to wish my fiancé a happy birthday as well as bring a complementary dessert. As the brunch time was coming to an end our server was kind enough to bring us another round of drink and reserve an area for us in the upstairs (busy) bar area. The drinks were very good and they had the perfect amount of liquor. The food was average. We started off with the pozole which was delicious, but our entrees (huevo y chorizo enchiladas + steak and eggs) were average. The bottomless brunch deal is only worth it if you're going to have 3+ drinks. The entrees come with one drink if you don't want the bottomless drink option. All in all, I would return as mentioned before - the service was exceptional.
Service was slow and food was very average. For a mexican place, the menu seemed very limited too (e.g no burrito or fajitas)
Upon first glance at street level it doesn’t look like much but then they lead you downstairs to an unexpected treat. The service, food, & atmosphere was perfect for a pre- broadway show dinner. Would definitely go back again!
Sadly an awful experience. The hostess was rude, the service was very poor and the food average. Such a shame
We went there for a going away brunch for my best friend and it was honestly the absolutely best experience! We originally were supposed to be at a table but decided to stay in the lounge area downstairs and it worked out perfectly. We ordered a bunch of food and decided to do it family style- the food was excellent but the service was the best part. We had the server Kervin (I believe that’s how you spell it) and it was the best service I have had in a while. Thank you to the staff for making it a great experience, wouldn’t have asked for a better send off.
the food and location was good. Our waitress services was average at best. She was slow at service. She had stated that the sangria had gluten in it yet both bar tenders confirmed that it was gluten free. Had the sangria with no reactions to the gluten. Always have luck with the gluten free menu there.
Restaurant in the theatre district that offers good food and service was fine also and close to theatres
Menu was limited. Food and service were good.
