Good Mexican food, margaritas and fun atmosphere. Everyone in my party was happy.
Great food! Everything was delicious! Very personable server (Billy). He was excellent as was all the staff from the minute we walked in to the minute we left! This was the 2nd time we were there and we will definitely be going back!
Delicious food and margaritas!
Service and decor was great, food was good too. Our mojitos were perfect. The only problem was the noise level. It was very noisy with not a full room. They should improve the acoustics to help absorb the conversations and music. With concrete floors there is nothing to absorb the sound.
The ambiance is great , dead smack in the middle of Times Square so much to see ,very busy area , the food was not great , overpriced for value and the taste was not excellent but it was ok . I would try it .
The best guacamole, great cocktails, excellent helpful service, able to customize for food allergies, and overall excellence.
The waiter messed up our order I think partly because he couldn't hear because of the loud music. I asked him if the order came with rice and beans and he said no. I ordered the shrimp and asada enchilladas and told them all sauces and creams on the side. They came out over a thick bed of beans which had I known I would not have ordered a side of rice and beans with the cream all over them. When they brought it to the the table it looked more along the line of soft tacos and he told us the rice and beans were on the house but charged us for it anyways. We ordered 2 sides of corn and they only brought 1. I have been to this place so many time and for so many years this was the first time we ever experienced this.
Only negative was the bathrooms- not enough and could be cleaner.
My friend and I came for brunch for her birthday. Our server was Carlton to start and he had an attitude and pressured us to place our order for brunch consistently, 4-5x even though we were having a bottomless brunch till 4 pm. We arrived early for a 1:30 pm reservation. He barely came to the table after knowing we were taking our time even though our drinks were finished. My friend asked him how his day was going and he blew her off. We saw him by the server station pointing at us and being unprofessional knowing he wasn’t happy with the fact we were taking our time.
After a bit another server, mellissa approached us to let us know he was leaving and she was taking over. We thanked her as she was attentive and polite. She served us a few more drinks and dessert. We were much more pleased with her service than Carlton.
I have been to 3 out of 4 Dos Caminos and have never experienced the service I have had here today.
Meal was way too salty. Drinks were delicious and had a great server.
We picked Dos Caminos last minute after a matinee. No problem getting a reservation. Our waiter was very attentive. the portions were plentiful and everything was tasty. I would return.
Several time repeat customer. Asked for specific table, by table number. Res person convinced me I had the wrong number and placed the 4 of us in an undesirable location. Table I wanted was now occupied, and mgr on duty confirmed it was the table numbering originally requested. This is 2nd time this has happened. Not sure I will go back for strike 3.
Meh. Not so great Mexican food. The guacamole was fresh and tasty. The fajitas were great and they only gave 3 tiny 3 inch tortillas with it. And it was weird being seated in a near empty basement feeling room downstairs when there were open tables upstairs. Waitress was ditzy and inconsistent. This was my 2nd and final time. There.
Went for a brunch with my half. For around 20 dollars per person, we can have a nice main entrée with coffee or tea and juice or brunch cocktails.
Everything was good. Good quality for price.
I went there at 3pm on Sunday and this was empty in the basement.
Absolutely delicious. Just the right sized portions. I'd definitely return, and look forward to visiting the other branches. Very high-end Mexican food.
Went to this location for a pre show dinner. Atmosphere was ok I was expecting a little more of a fun place. Food was just ok not fantastic. Margaritas are not the best in the city as they claim at least the happy hour ones were not. Hate that you have to order chips and salsa? Should be included IMO. Tortilla soup was good. Meals came out while still eating apps. Can’t stand that. Had the grilled fish tacos they were good but not amazing. Our waitress was great though. Most likely won’t be back.
Food was delicious-fresh guacamole was the best!
Don’t order the fajitas! Dining area very smoky...people at several tables coughed whenever a fajita order came through. Ruined our meal by not being able to breathe or see clearly.
No complaints! Liked everything
Our family visited Dos Caminos for lunch before a Wednesday 2:00 show. Everything was really good and extremely fresh. Our guacamole was mashed right after ordering. Our table ordered fajitas, quesadillas, and a burrito. Everybody enjoyed their lunch thoroughly, the only negative would be it was a $200 lunch for 5 people.
I’ve been going to Dos Caminos for years and have been to most of their locations in NYC. The Times Square location was very loud, the food prices were higher than the other locations and the drinks were weaker. This place is for tourists only.
It was disappointing to have a lot of fat in the carne asada tacos. However, the worst was never being offered a refill of my water or soda. Seemed like the customer service level wasn't a concern.
The food was alright nothing spectacular. A little pricey for what we got. The wait service made up for all that. I only wish I could remember his name he made it worth while going to Dos Caminos.
The food was great for the price, not really authentic Mexican food tho, but def catered to all audience. Would recommend for date nights, or casual dining alike.
Nice enough local however they don't offer the happy hour at the tables, when you do get a table service was good when you got it but took over 30 minutes to order...not the best situation if you're coming off a long work day and skipped lunch
Great food and ambience. The only downfall was we had a 5:00 reservation and had to check in twice, once upstairs and once downstairs, which took awhile downstairs. The bar was super crowded with people waiting for the dining room to open. If they have such a big crowd waiting it seems they should open the dining room a bit earlier!
I have visited all three locations for Dos Caminos, your SoHo, Chelsea areas. These two are the best, the one in Times Square is primarily for the tourist crowd on Times Square. We found this location too loud, but it fits the area.
I would recommend to a friend the 1st two locations mentioned, with high recommendation to the SoHo location on West Broadway,
Las mejores margaritas y tacos que he probado. El local de time Square es en un subterráneo lo cual te da algo de miedo. Comida y atención excelente
The waiter was amazing. Don't remember his name but very enthusiastic!!!!
Had a wonderful experience dining in at Dos Caminos. The food was great and tasted exquisite. The service was phenomenal and the ambiance was great, very welcoming and homely.
We had a mostly enjoyable experience. We were bounced around from up to downstairs and back again because our reservation table wasn't ready yet. But once sat our experience was great. Great food, service and drinks.
Great food and mojitos. Service can be improved though.
Went there for pre-dinner theater. Food was good. Guacamole particularly well made. Only relatively minor issue is table was a little small to hold the food we ordered, and felt cramped. But, we will definitely add this as a "go to" place when we are in Manhattan, particularly in the theater district.
Waitress was slightly inattentive. Food is great but overpriced.
The drinks were great but pricey...not unexpected for NYC. The service was awesome. I would definitely go back for the food and the service. We loved the lounge area but it was so loud we couldn't hear one another very well to carry on a good conversation.
My husband had the seared tuna and loved it. The guacamole was tasty. I am a baby when it comes to hot food, so the waiter (very helpful and attentive) helped me pick something out - shrimp quesadilla- which I found didn’t have a lot of flavor. It was so noisy I couldn’t hear myself think, but I’m aged, so there’s that.
Second time there. From Canada when we visit NYC we enjoy eating at various places. We stumbled last time we where in NYC at DOS CAMINOS and we really enjoyed it. Therefore we had to go back a second time!!! Was delicious !!!!
Another astounding experience! The new Machado breakfast tacos are delicious! Brought a group of six and everyone loved the food. Guillermo is the BEST server ever! Highly recommended!
