We love Dos Caminos but will never go before Theater to the Dos Caminos Times Square. It is well understand in Times Square that customers are going to theater and need to be served efficiently. Our dinner took 45 mins to arrive and we barely had time to eat. We felt stressed and did not enjoy our dinner. Do not go to this DC if you hope to see a show!
Server we had should go on a hospitality training. Food was okeish, a little flat, not to much taste...
Came to the city for a visit and was recommended to try Dos Caminos by a friend. It did not disappoint! The food was amazing, atmosphere super cool, and staff were very nice and attentive. We ended up eating at comfy chairs in the lounge and it was perfect!
Got a great big table in the back downstairs which was a little quieter than the main room and big enough for all our yummy shared dishes. Great service and food. We’ll be back!
We arrived for our 6:45pm reservation at 6:42. We were told that our table would be ready shortly downstairs. After no more than a 5 minute wait, we were seated at a perfect table for my family of 5 with 3 young kids. Service was attentive and courteous, but somewhat slow at times. I chalk that up to them being so slammed on a weekend in December before Christmas in Times Square. Site made Guac is always great here and the Baja Steak and Shrimp tacos were the table favorite. It’s pricey, but anything decent in this area is. We will definitely go again! Thanks, Dos Caminos.
Great deal for the $18/pp bottomless drinks. The server said they couldn’t bring a pitcher over to our table even though all of us at the table paid for the bottomless deal, however the server was excellent about bringing us another round before we finished the prior round. We also appreciated the space at this location and not being too close to other tables, which is otherwise common in NYC.
Food was very good. Waitress was attentive and knowledgeable. But there was a glitch in their computer system so it took over an hour to get our entrees. Other than that it was a very good place.
Came here for my sons bday dinner- which i notes in the open table Rez. Had high hopes as I called to check on allergies prior and got a call back and felt good about it. We arrived and sat down. Someone dropped chips and salsa and water and literally two minutes later a waiter appeared and said “are you ready”? No intro, no nothing. We all looked and kind of surprised said okkkkkkk. Then we ordered. He paid a little attention to my allergy Instructions- and everything came out right for this— so that’s good BUT my husbands was all wrong. He was telling the waiter this and without a word In The middle of his explanation the waiter just picked up the plate and took it. No words. We had to assume it was going to get fixed. Now the waiter was ok in terms of refilling water, etc but was highly unfriendly. It almost seemed like we were a pain in the A$&. Also, the bday was never referenced. No happy bday. No nothing. We went for dessert elsewhere. It was disappointing. And the steak tacos were fatty but we were afraid to say anything. It was over priced and not fun. Would not return and wouldn’t recommend. There are far more fun and relaxed places to go with better food quite frankly.
Food was ok. Had better Mexican in hole in the wall places in NJ. Extremely loud. Hard to have a conversation .
Our waiter got one of the orders wrong and then we had to wait ages for a replacement meal. They seemed to be short staffed and the place was drab in comparison to other restaurants. Sadly not one I would recommend based on the poor service.
Great location and food. The upstairs was quieter than the downstairs (bar and food area). The staff were attentive and the food was lovely
Service once at table was great. Frankie was our server and he was awesome. The young man directing the other hostesses where to seat guests was not great at communicating with guests checking in for reservations. Rather than acknowledging the guest and letting them know where to stand or how long it would be, he directed the young ladies where to take other parties. While the service was good, the food was pretty disappointing considering the cost. The chicken tacos were small in portion and severely lacking in flavor. The chicken itself didn’t seem to be seasoned at all.
Everything was fantastic, food, service and ambiance! Highly recommend! And do get reservation up front! Can’t wait to return.
An almost out of control melange of customers, servers, dropped plates, small drinks and unappetizing food.
I ordered the asada tacos and a beer. The meat was done perfectly and were delicious. For dessert I had the carmel tres leche cake...that was very tasty. Overall a great meal without being overly full.
Food is ok. Service was great.
Amazing and delicious food both for kids and adults. Great drinks. Our server was attentive and went out of his way to check on my food allergies and even what others were eating in case I wanted to try anyone else's. Definitely recommend!
Great environment, great staff, great food. Almost went back the very next day. Highly recommend.
They barely greet you, I was told to go to desk downstairs where I waited for reservation to be found. One member of party already seated so do not know what was delay. The food was ok it was not what I expected. My daughter sat for 7 minutes without spoon for soup 3 requests were made. She tried to eat with her fork because soup was getting cold but that was not possible
Loved our dinner here! The organic margarita was delicious!
Would of liked Spicey condiments and more then three micrograms of chorizo in the queso fondido.
For whatever reason, the food was terrible. I had been the week prior and it was fine. Not sure if it was a bad day or they changed chefs.
Drinks were good. Ordered carnitas tacos, 3 tiny tacos came out. More an app than an dinner.
This place was great when it was part of BR Guest group. Now that it’s owned by same massive company, Landry’s, that owns Bubba Gump, Rainforest Cafe and many others, it’s become like those huge chains...mediocre at best.
One of my favorite spots when I'm seeing shows - so bummed to have had a lousy experience this time. Service was horrible, we sat at our table for 15 minutes, no sign of a server or even water, finally had to flag someone down. Food was excellent as always but the poor service really ruined the night.
Daughters 16th birthday
Great nachos quesadillas. Storm margaritas were bitter get other ones they are outstanding
We had a party of 12 and our server was pretty good. We were seated in the back are and felt we didn't get enough attention at times. With 12 people, he came by maybe every 15-20 min to check on us. Most places have either 2 servers or would return to the table more often.
We were visiting nyc and booked dinner before a show. Everything was excellent from start to finish - server was very friendly, knowledgeable and our food came quickly. Plus it was one of the best Mexican dinners we’ve ever had. Can’t wait to go back!
Food is average but service is very slow and not attentive.
Love that you have new menu options.
Rice was very hard
Your servers seems overwhelmed and understaffed for a sat night
Yes, with a caveat.
Too loud! The music was at a 10 in volume and it should be around a 5 or 6 in my view, to allow for conversation (at least at the 5:30 seating). I'm 66 years old, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
The food was excellent and the service was very good.
I loved the family friendly atmosphere.
The beef short ribs were kinda tough and chewy. But the service, drinks, guac n salsa, etc good.
Delish cauliflower tacos. And the guacamole is outrageous. We were late and they held our reservation. So nice. Can't wait to go back.
13th Birthday celebration for my daughter.
Fabulous guacamole!! The service was very friendly. Great view of Times Square from upstairs bar.
MY SALAD WAS DISAPPOINTING--I HAVE FOOD ALLERGIES AND THE WAITER DID NOT BRING ME THE RIGHT DRESSING--HE BROUGHT ME STRAIGHT VINEGAR WHICH I DOUSED MY SALAD WITH ASSUMING IT WAS THE DRESSING I WANTED. OF COURSE IT WAS NOT EDIBLE SO I ASKED FOR THE DRESSING THE SALAD WAS SUPPOSE TO COME WITH AND WAS TOLD IT HAD EGG SO THE KITCHEN THOUGHT I WOULD BE ALLERGIC [ I AM ALLERGIC TO POULTRY, NOT EGG] . THIS WAS AN HONEST, CONCERNED MISTAKE BUT I SHOULD HAVE BEEN ASKED. AND CERTAINLY SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN BROUGHT STRAIGHT VINEGAR WITHOUT EXPLANATION. I HAD TO ASK FOR STRAIGHT OIL. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN OFFERED SOME 'REAL' DRESSING ALTERNATIVE.
Delicious, lively experience overlooking Times Square! Dos Caminos NEVER disappoints!! Get the guac....ALWAYS!
We had a reservation but they sat us at a strip table along the window. There was no one there and they wouldn’t sit us at a regular table. Food was pricey for what you get and just meh flavor wise. I was disappointed.
