The restaurant was closing the next day for good, and for good reason! Service was horrible and they were out of salsa! Server did not communicate what they were missing until our food came out and we asked why things were not on the plate. Also they were not busy and our food took over an hour, the waitress did not care at all. Would not recommend to anyone.
Terribly slow service but food was good!
Took over 45 mins to have the food served and they still didn’t bring us the whole order. We had a Broadway show that we needed to go to and had to eat our food in literally 6 mins. Will not be going here again.
We went here to meet family for dinner. We were a group of 7. The service was excellent and the food and drinks were yummy! Great/fun place for larger groups.
This was a disappointment. The food was above average but the service was terrible. It took us 15 minutes after being seated to be checked on, and we were never offered refills or even given the entirety of what we ordered. The server was friendly but it was definitely the worst service we had while visiting NYC.
Since wait staff did not show up on the night of our meal at Dos Caminos, they had one waiter for the downstairs portion of the restaurant (front half). Our waiter never had time to come over to the table to see that one of our entrees was inedible. Not sure what has happened to this restaurant. Waiter took the entree off of the bill, but there was not enough time to reorder by the time we could get someone to come to our table. Sad. This used to be a good spot, but won't be going back.
Great place, always come here when I’m in New York. Huge portions. Great guacamole.
very slow service! waited 2 hours for my food was not that busy. waiter didnt not come back to our table for 45 minutes after order was taken.
They must have been short bussers because there were 3 tables full of food whose patrons had left - the entire time we were there. Our waiter hardly checked on us - I had to flag him down to ask for more water! I was not impressed with this restaurant.
Was dirty where we sat. It was upstairs. There was a dirty napkin and other things on the floor.
Incredibly slow and frustrating experience. Waited over an hour for food and one order was wrong. Service was not attentive.
Starter was pretty good but the Steak Asada from the specials was decidedly un-special. Problem was service. Our waiter just seemed to have too many tables to look after. Starter arrived and I asked for some Habanero sauce which took 10 minutes to arrive by which time it was cold. Waiter brought me a new one but so much time had gone by that the very average main course arrived half way through the starter. Very hard to get waiters attention to order more water, drinks etc. All in all very frustrating - wont be going back.
Service was horrible, restaurant smelled and was worn and the food was not impressive and took forever to arrive to the table. Tortillas stale and chips were not very authentic. Salsa needs a lot of work
I didn't have a great experience at Dos Caminos this go around. The temperature in the restaurant was a sweltering 80 degrees it felt like. I was sweating just sitting there. My entree was awful...I got the enchiladas and it was way too salty and just didn't taste good. So disappointed.
A/C Unit was broken in the dining room and it was very hot.
I asked for a small guacamole but the server charged me for a large
To start we walked in and asked for a table we were told wait is 45 mins yet when i opened the app I could see tables avail right away!! So staff is obviously not aware what is their customers and table situation. This left me with a bad taste from the start. The service was slow but food was good.
Good food great service, and New York prices.
Whoever is in charge of Inventory of Beverages at both bars (upstairs and downstairs), needs to be better. For a Mexican Restaurant to run out of Corona Light, that is absurd. And, our waiter was not very social and not offering any additional suggestions.
Got seated towards the back on same level as bar, but there was a faint odor - and not a good one. Moved to bar instead and bellied up. Music was a little loud, especially considering it was 12:30pm in the afternoon.
Food decent. Will I go again? Probably not. Felt a little divey tbh.
They're closing, so they were out of many items at the bar.
Restaurant was great our service was off but I think it was just our waiter everyone else looked great !!!
Dos Caminos is one of my favorite places to go to dinner at!
The naked taco is amazing. Had a great dinner, candid not break the bank
What a disappointment! I had originally sent what I wrote below as a private message, but received no reply from the restaurant. I feel duty bound to let other diners know of my experience.
I was a huge fan of brunch at Dos Caminos. Especially the chilaquiles. This past Sunday I ordered the chilaquiles and when they came out the eggs were overcooked. It took over ten minutes to flag down my waitress and I let her know of the situation. I wait another fifteen minutes, flag her down again and ask where my eggs are. She said someone was supposed to have brought them out. A server comes out a couple minutes later and this time the eggs are nearly hard-boiled. I flag her down again and finally, the eggs come out as they should have. I had to wait nearly an hour for my food and was not offered any compensation for my clearly disappointing experience. Also, I saw a mouse crawl up the window well as I was leaving.
Amazing brunch, and an alcoholic drink is included with each entree! Only complaint would be the prices.
The food was your average Mexican style cuisine. I would say the most notable things on the menu were the drinks. The only real issue I had was the fact that it took about 15 minutes to be served water/seen by a waitress. The waitress I had was very nice but since it was a busy Saturday night I felt like she was quick to clear the plates.
Overall, I think this place would be great to bring some out of towners to but if you're looking for authentic Mexican style cuisine I would pass on it.
Very nice. Had better, had much worse. The mild guacamole was a little bit on the spicy side. Chips were really good. Margarita was nice.
We ate early with two toddlers so we were the noisy ones! Luckily not many others were there at that time.
Service was not good. Food was just barely OK. Waitress didn’t seem to know what she was doing or didn’t care. She brought us each half a cup of cold, old-tasting, disgusting coffee with a table spoon instead of tea spoon. Then, we had to wait for coffee to be made Still got only half a cup, which looked ridiculous in the cup. Smoky, smelly atmosphere. Table nearby had very loud, cackling females. Altogether, not a good experience. Will not go back.
Great meal, fresh food, loved the fish tacos.
Very noisy upstairs. However, it was great downstairs! Good food
Delicious food, great service and nice decor/atmosphere! Will definitely come back on our next trip to NYC!
I saw a mouse - likely the same one - 3 times during my lunch. I’ll never return now.
Overall great experience. Waitress had too many tables to service everyone great!
I enjoyed the brunch. I chose steak and eggs - not very Tex-Mex but with a chili spin to a hearty breakfast.
Service was late to arrive and then slow thereafter. They were under-staffed.
Girls night out and seated at Diego’s station. We had guacamole, chips, and fajitas and plenty of drinks. We had a super fab time and Diego was the best waiter!
Mediocre at best. If you are from a place where Taco Bell is your best choice, this may be a reasonable option.
Our server was pleasant but kept disappearing. We had to flag down for service. Never asked if we wanted our drinks refilled. Food was average at best. Lukewarm when we received it. Also very overpriced for average Mexican. Lastly, when I made the reservation I told them that it was both my daughter not even a mention. Very disappointed. Will not be returning.
