Dos Caminos - Third Avenue

The server was attentive and helpful. The downstairs dining space was moderately loud. The food was below average. The guacamole was tasteless. It lacked salt and other seasoning. The empanadas were flavorful but drowned in some sort of spicy mayo. I’ve had better from a box and microwaved. My chili relleno could have been eggplant parmigiana. It sat in 1/2 inch of marinara sauce and was covered in melted cheese. The best part of the meal was my Pacifico beer. It is a sad day when Dos Caminos has become a glorified Taco Bell.
Do not go here on a Friday expecting good food or service you will get better quality "Mexican" from Taco Bell. There are better choices in the city, save yourself the hassle.
Service was terrible. Food took hour and a half to arrive.
Food was excellent, restaurant was a little warm but we had a great time and the service was fantastic.
Service was slow, but overall experience was good if you're not in a rush
For New York, the prices are about typical - on the high side but not exorbitant. Guacamole is fresh and tasty and main courses are interesting. Very large spacious restaurant which is a nice rarity in midtown.
Has really gone downhill...terrible services. It took 30 minutes to get our first drink order and they never came back to take another drink order the entire 2 hours we were there. Absolutely horrible experience. And the bathroom was flooded.
Great place, delicious food, and the service was excellent.
Did not like the fact that they tod us 45 minutes wait without a reservation when in fact the restaurant was 50% full or less during all lunch period...
Waitress was a pleasure and service was quick. Convenient location.
Didn’t have sparking water. Didn’t have grenadine to make a Shirley temple. Didn’t have one of the entrees. Service was mediocre. Entire wait staff seemed more interested in the manager or some other employee who was dining by himself at the table next to us and playing a Nintendo switch. Food was mediocre at best. Big drop in what it used to be - Feels like it could’ve been a Mexican place in a mall (and it was New Year’s Eve!)
Fajitas are overpriced and we had to send the rice back because it was so hard it almost broke my jaw
Very poor service
Food is very ordinary. Menu very limited. Drinks options extremely limited. Service is average. Too expensive for quality of food. One star.
Went there with family after a Broadway show! Drinks awesome!!! Food was great and service was spot on!!! I highly recommend for groups or nice dinner with a date . Can't wait to go back!!
Went into NYC to see the tree at Rockefeller Center and was looking for a place to eat out with the kids. Times Square was packed so I remembered Dos Caminos on 3rd Ave. Used to go frequently when I worked in NYC. It didn't disappoint. Best guacamole around. My kids said it was the best they ever had. Our meals were also very good. Good portions and reasonable prices for midtown Manhattan. The atmosphere was also good and the wait staff was terrific. I highly recommend this place.
We ordered steak fajitas and I ordered medium rare, only 1 piece cake that way, and my friend ordered well done and she had a mixture of rare and well done. They didn’t offer to redo, wouldn’t go back.
Dos Caminos is a great choice for Mexican, food and service are very good and we enjoyed both the guacamole starter and our entrees
Extremely poor service. We had to keep getting up to ask the bartender for assistance. Food mediocre.
Food was just Ok. Fajita was too oily and the smoky flavor was too strong. Mixed up with our orders so some got their dishes while other had to wait. Overall nice but in my opinion too pricy for common dishes.
My cousin from Asutralia wanted mexican and he was not dissapointed. He enjoyed the Food.
Guacamole was fresh and delicious. We orderd enchiladas and tacos . Bothe wer tasty and delicious.
The food was delicious and our server Dakota made it an even better experience.
We had a wonderful experience at Dos Caminos today. We made 2 reservations of 7 online for our party of 14 and the host was so nice to accommodate our party at the same table once we arrived! The service was great. The guacamole and red sangria were delicious!!
The food was excellent and very tasty. The server was a really great surprise. Attentive, polite and patient. I’ll definitely come back.
As always, Dos Caminos delivered a great meal and our server Laz did a great job handling our party of 6
Great, relaxing atmosphere. We were very happy to see they had vegan options. Service was also great.
It was great. Tortillas were a little dry but the chicken fajitas were excellent.
Good guacamole and margaritas!
I was looking forward to this lunch. The staff was extremely friendly. The margharitas were good but the food disappointed.
Loud restaurant. Table next to loud bar. Ran out of flour tortillas. Server didn’t clean dishes from the table at the end. Quality of the food was poor. Has gone down hill...
The restaurant has been around for a long time, and in Manhattan that is saying something... but the Mexican food was overpriced and rather uninspired. I’ve heard mixed reviews about the place, some people love it, but I’ll pass on returning. There are so many other great places in midtown to try.
I always have a great night at Dos, the food, service and atmosphere is always great. The mole short rib was delicious and the frozen margaritas are amazing as well. One of my favorite spots in Nyc
Food was good. Love the ambiance.
Everything was delicious but was handed my bill which was one price gave my credit card and when it came back I was charged $5 more for one soda he forgot to add to bill .. never had that happen before was pretty ridiculous if you ask me.
Everything was amazing- our waitress Kate, the food, the atmosphere, the brunch deal, the birthday celebration ALL WAS AMAZING
So this is a difficult review. We were here for brunch as we had been to other locations for brunch in the past. We all upgraded to the bottomless brunch drinks we figured with a 2 hour limit we would be fine. Our drinks took FOREVER to get to us so we ended up asking if we could order two at a time. I'm not saying we were lushes that ordered 6 drinks but I was long done with my first mimosa and it was nearly an hour to get my next one. Food was great, guacamole is delicious and our server was very sweet and apologetic. My suggestion is that they don't offer the bottomless. For $18 upgrade and the long time it takes to get them, it's just not worth it.
Great meal! I would say better than Rosa Mexicano
Insanely slow service, food was ok.
The chopped salad is one of my favorites and I've had it several times. I love a thoroughly dressed salad, but this was far beyond that, to the extent that it was drenched and practically soggy.
The guacamole was some of the best I've had in a while though.
