Dos Caminos - Third Avenue

I saw a mouse - likely the same one - 3 times during my lunch. I’ll never return now.
Overall great experience. Waitress had too many tables to service everyone great!
I enjoyed the brunch. I chose steak and eggs - not very Tex-Mex but with a chili spin to a hearty breakfast.
Service was late to arrive and then slow thereafter. They were under-staffed.
Girls night out and seated at Diego’s station. We had guacamole, chips, and fajitas and plenty of drinks. We had a super fab time and Diego was the best waiter!
Mediocre at best. If you are from a place where Taco Bell is your best choice, this may be a reasonable option.
Our server was pleasant but kept disappearing. We had to flag down for service. Never asked if we wanted our drinks refilled. Food was average at best. Lukewarm when we received it. Also very overpriced for average Mexican. Lastly, when I made the reservation I told them that it was both my daughter not even a mention. Very disappointed. Will not be returning.
So good! Would go back again and again!
I went to Dos Caminos this Friday, and it was the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant! While my friend and I were eating our meal, I noticed something running back and forth on the floor. At first, I didn't pay attention, but I finally got annoyed and got up to take a closer look. It was a mouse running around. My friend went to get the server right away. While I was trying to capture a picture, two more came out! But this time one of them were crawling on the walls! I went to find my friend to figure out what was taking so long and she told me that the manager wouldn't come to speak to her. The server told her the manager was busy! No one seems to care; instead, they were asking us if we wanted dessert. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! We stood near the host's booth for 15 minutes, and the manager was nowhere to be found. Finally, the server said, "I mean it doesn't matter since we are moving from this place in a month" I was taken back by how calm and nonchalant everyone was about multiple mice running around in their restaurant. My friend and I picked up our items and walked out. If you are going to care about an establishment, care for your customers! NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO BACK TO DOS CAMINOS, ANY OF THEM! I posted the video on my social media account.
This was a last minute choice and the host was very accomodating to seat us an hour before our reservation. Service was very slow. The restaurant wasn't full so it seemed more like they were short on wait staff. Food was good, not outstanding. Cocktail was disappointing. Overall, it's a usual 3 stars for a chain restaurant. People go there because it's familiar and convenient not because it's standout.
Always a great meal and attentive staff. Gave us time to eat the delicious guacamole before asking about our main course.
Great food in a very friendly environment! A bit noisy but worth the visit.
Service was un attentive. Restaurant understaffed by the bar. Manager near bar never bothered to help when tables were unattended for long periods of time.
Though I enjoyed the restuarant, its ambience, and the food, our service was not the best and the resturant was not packed. We were not brought all of our food. I specifically ordered Fajitas and was not brought my tortilla wraps until I reminded my water. Once I received them my food was already cold. I would not dismiss the resturant, though I would expect service to be better the next time.
Excellent food, great service.
A little pricey though.
It seemed like this restaurant was struggling. The hostess was not at the stand when I walked in, and two parties had already formed a line. Other employees noticed this but took no action. Eventually the hostess appeared and I was asked to wait at the bar until the rest of my party arrived. The bar was a mess - empty cups, dirty napkins, even a signed tab lying around. The bartender and hostess were both very nice, but the ambiance and first impression were hard to get over.
Service was very slow, again with multiple employees passing by our table when it was clear we were trying to get someone’s attention. The last straw was no paper towels in the bathroom. I’ve been to other Dos Caminos locations and had much better experiences. I hope this location can turn itself around.
Everything was fantastic except the bbq sauce on the enchiladas. A thumbs down from me...
Waiter wasn’t very attentive. Had to keep asking for things and reminding him to get drinks.
The food is great but the service is horrendously slow and totally indifferent, unapologetic, not particularly friendly. We waited a half hour just to order and well over an hour for our food to come, and the restaurant wasn't even crowded. The employees all looked pretty miserable, which may be more a function of management. Whatever the reason, it's a shame. The food and drinks would normally be enough to keep us coming back, but this was the worst service experience at a restaurant that I can remember. We live in the neighborhood and will never go back.
From the food to the drinks everything was delicious.
Amazing food and service!
It was absolutely disgusting. Went to Rosa Mexicano a few days ago, loved it and wanted to try something different. Food is a rip off, bland, Americanized, canned and crappy. It is not authentic Mexican food. Canadians especially avoid this place like the plague it is.
The only thing I can compliment was the service, and $28 rip off guacamole.
Service was extremely slow. Our server was courteous and nice bu is not attentive, delayed, forgot to order an appetizer and forgot to bring a side for one of our dishes. The drinks were quite bad towards the end of our dinner.
Very good food very good service on top of situation will definitely be back
You know the food is good and tasty when you leave the restaurant satisfied.👍
reservation at 7:30 - appetizer before our drink order arrived - waiting for ever, food came at 9 - our fault, we should have know better at a tourist shot - but it was poor!
Food was just, average at best. There is a spicy, very unusual sauce used on the chicken dishes that made it taste like rubber. The margarita was undrinkable. However, the ambiance was on point, service was great. Very overpriced for less than average food, but I guess being in midtown Manhattan maybe it is what it is. Id say skip this restaurant and opt for something more authentic.
Service was very slow. It's amazing that I saw one bartender for the whole restaurant. I think the servers were doing the best they could, but it was quite concerning they had to climb stairs up and down to get drinks to their tables. Food arrived before our drinks, and the whole time I felt management could have been more in touch with customers needs.
The food was OK but nothing spectacular.
The margaritas were OK but again not spectacular.
Overall it was OK but would not rush back.
On a positive side, our waitress was very good.
This was the most disappointing dining experience I have ever had in my life. Will not be returning and will not ever suggest this place.
Exceptional Service by Ashley and great drinks and food.
Dinner was fun, the atmosphere lends to that; the food, however, wasn't what I expected. It was tasty but not anything that would make me choose this restaurant over other Mexican cuisines.
Fabio was a great waiter
We have been to other Dos Caminos and liked them very much, however, this one is better yet. The service was excellent. The ambiance was more upscale than the others. Very kind as I was using a walker. The tres leches cake for dessert was a WOW. We also had the fajitas which were excellent. Will go there again.
This experience was horrible. My friends and I were looking forward to a nice Mexican dinner in the city and to say we were disappointed is an understatement . The margarita were HORRIBLE. They tasted like sugar and cheap tequila. The service was subpar at best and the food was mediocre. Avoided this restaurant at all Costs. PLEASE.
Excellent food and service.
Service was terrible. We waited over an hour and food never came - wait staff and servers are completely incompetent- we had to get their attention multiple times just to get water or chips for our guacamole. The entrees never came out because of the confusion going on in the kitchen. Never going back. Manager didn’t even want to listen to us, so we just left.
From the door to the table... wry cherimoya. Our waitress Janet was excellent! The pre fix menu had a good selection. The plantain empanadas are a hit! The short ribs are absolutely delicious and tender. Can’t go wrong with fresh guacamole and chips. I was recommended the passion fruit margarita- it was bitter... not what I expected for a good sweet drink. Everything else was perfect.
food was delicious. but that was the only positive for what was supposed to be a special evening. bottom part of restaurant was not very busy, but getting attention from our waiter was near impossible. took forever to flag him down to order and we were never checked on, never able to order another drink- finally we waited 10 mins to find someone to get our bill. and it was our anniversary dinner which was never acknowledged. won't ever recommend or come back.
