Located in the heart of Midtown and spread over two floors with three bars, Dos Caminos Third Avenue is a vibrant and buzzing atmosphere for a party. Full and partial restaurant buyouts are available, and three private dining rooms are available. Accommodates 15-400 guests.
View Private Dining DetailsVibe/music was good but food was poor quality and tasteless - didn’t add up to the flavour described on the menu. Service was also slow. Took 20 min each time for drinks and table wasn’t cleared after starters.
After a day of walking all over the city, we were happy to sit down to a relaxing, casual dinner. Our server was very attentive, brought us everything we needed. Kids' menu with great choices. Margaritas were very tasty! Would definitely recommend and eat here again.
Waited forever for everything, no waiter seemed to be assigned to our table .. waited for welcoming water to food to beverages .. had to repeatedly ask fo everything and it wasn’t even very busy. Food was good but just disappointing service.
Very Good, but very expensive, guacamole
Awful, bad food, bad service
More than half our table's orders were wrong, forgotten, or delayed and management did nothing to address this.
Server was excellent. Guacamole was terrific.
Consistently good Mexican food. Great margaritas and other cocktails. Patient and accommodating with my elderly parents who don't move very quickly.
A lot of mismanagement
Good portions, busy scene.
Great service lousy and expensive food snd drinks
Great food and cocktails. The ambiance is one of a kind.
My plate and my guest plate was dirty from old food. The service was below par. I was sat downstairs waaaaaaay in the back. Awful experience.
Great meal and good atmosphere even for business. Had a table of 6 and the vibe was great.
Waiter was ver nice, however did not see much of him.
Really enjoyed our dinner here - great service, delicious food, great music playing all night Best guacamole I have had - delicious. We were a family of 5 visiting NYC so this was a good find - and a few minutes from our hotel in Mid-Town. Big spacious restaurant - food came quickly.
Festive place with terrific food & very attentive service - fabulous!
Experience was amazing. Food was outstanding.
Have always enjoyed DC but this time was not memorable. Service was very officious and just not friendly. Maybe next time will be better.
We loved the food and cocktails but the service was horrible.
Everything was delicious and had a great time! Only wish that when it was mentioned it was a birthday dinner, that it would have been more eventful when the dessert came. No candle, no song, nothing.
Love Dos Caminos. The only thing they might consider is lowering the volume of the music during dinner hours. I Love Michael Jackson but dudes... way too loud!!
The waitress was terrible and kept ignoring us. She didn’t check on our table at all.
Excellent food, as always. Ordered coffee and dessert. Coffee came but no dessert until the coffee was gone. Timing needs improvement!
Pricey but the food was good. Our server wasn’t too attentive & didn’t explain the brunch. We just figured it out.
I enjoyed the ambiance and the food was very good. Looking forward to next visit
Never disappoints. Love the margaritas and guacamole. A must do when visiting NYC!
I like this place. The service was courteous and timely. The food looked and tasted good. We were unlucky in that neighboring table had a small child who wasn't well behaved and a bit loud. It's not cheap, entre and large appetizers can be ~$30 ea.
Terrible service
Good food but expensive for the relatively small portions. High quality but low value sums up my experiences at Dos Caminos
Our server, India, was super lovely and the whole staff was very thoughtful and accommodating for my mom who was in crutches. Stuffed our faces and still had leftovers which we’ll look forward to tomorrow!
Dos Caminos is always a reliable dine.
I use this restaurant in upper east midtown as it is near to where I live and tends to be local and residential as opposed to full of tourists.
On this visit the service was much slower than usual and the restaurant emptied out early which ruined the atmosphere somewhat. However this is a great Mexican with generous portions and great food. Usually very busy which is good.
In the summer this place comes into its own with a great outside space for dining al fresco.
Lovely - recommended!
Fantastic Mexican food and fun, life affirming atmosphere! Second date with my sweetie and Dos Caminos made it Great! Waitress was kind, attentive, and very patient, we stayed very late and she never rushed us. Go to Dos Caminos in Midtown. You will be glad you did.
Experienced a cold reception and was immediately directed downstairs without checking to see if we had a reservation. Our waitress (Janet) was very unpleasant which made for a very uncomfortable experience. We received our appetizer before our cocktails which literally took 30 minutes . When we inquired about our drinks the waitress checked with the bartender to return only to tell us the bartender misplaced our drink ticket. Really?! In all the years of eating out this excuse was definitely a first. The restaurant was practically empty! Despite our experience we still gave the waitress a tip despite the poor service. Upon leaving the restaurant we did stop by reception to make them aware of the missed opportunity to inquire about our reservation because I did want to get credit for the visit. Her only response was to roll her eyes. We have visited quite a few restaurants in NYC and were quite shocked at this experience.
The downstairs was about half full and although it was great music, it was literally so loud that our entire party all woke up with sore, raspy voices from having to shout all night. Towards the end of the evening they did turn it down but it was aggressive. Drinks were great, food was good.
Music by disc jockey was loud and sounded like a hip hop funeral. I like hip hop music, but this wasn’t music. Food was all onion and no meat. Chips were stale. Really bad experience. I won’t go back.
Chorizo guacamole was awesome and margaritas were great. Our server William was attentive.
Excellent service!
Don’t go there worst service ever
Our server was awful. Hardly came by the table, wouldn’t see him for extended periods of time. Offered us guacamole when we sat down then when we got the bill had charged us $15 for it. When I asked him about it he rolled his eyes and gave us an attitude about it.
He also messed up my order. I had asked for tacos without guacamole on them - but of course they arrived with guacamole. When I told him about it, it took probably another 20 minutes to get the proper order.
At the end of the meal when I asked him about the guacamole, he brought the manager over, Amanda, who also then gave us attitude and insisted that because guacamole was one of their most popular items that we should have known we’d be charged. Which frankly was the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.
I will never go back to this restaurant, and would never in a million years recommend it to anyone.
