Dos Caminos - SoHo
Celebrated my birthday with good food, drinks and friends!
Sat at a table outside and was immediately asked what our age was, we were caught off guard and took a few seconds to respond and the server asked for our ID’s. Food and drinks were great. Our server on the other hand was HORRIBLE. My friend and I both work in hospitality and were horrified on how the server was talking to the table next to us. They only ordered a guacamole and drinks, the server approached the table and basically screamed at them that if they did not order an entree, they would need to leave. Did not offer to transfer the tab to the bar or give them a bit of time to finish enjoying their drink. Instead pointed out all of the tables nearby that were on their entrees already to prove his point.
We were there Friday the 14th, sat outside along the banquette seating towards the middle.
My friends and I had to wait forever for our waiter to circle back to us. We waited for too long to get the check. The food was good but rich. We sat outside which was cute, but there was a mouse!
Our server was terrible. He upsold us on the guacamole and chips. My daughter is clearly under 10 and when her food didn’t come out with the other children he said it was bc she ordered so articulately he assumed she wanted an adult portion and not the kids tacos. The salmon was salty and the food just ok. The fish tacos were decent.
Lovely location, nice vibe, nice staff, great deal on the bottomless brunch.
I sat outside yesterday. And while the area was really nice, the birds kept dive bombing everyone and pooping all over the place. But the food was excellent!
AMAZING. Best mexican good in the city. The guacamole is unreal. the frozen margaritas are amazing definitely worth the trip.
Food is tasty, not very Mexican and very expensive. Don’t sit at a booth -they’re ridiculously hard to get in and out of.
So good! This restaurant should not be missed!
Everything was terrible
The worst service I’ve had in my entire life. This is the first negative review I’ve given a restaurant. Our waiter was rude, we had food poured on our lap with no apology, and they carried tables over our heads pouring dirt onto our table. There are one million better Mexican restaurants in the city.
Walked past and decided to re-book here instead of Toloache for the outdoor seating. Not sure we made the correct choice. Drinks are above average for NYC prices and definitely underpoured. The fish tacos were smothered in a tasteless white sauce. The pork tacos were bland. Chicken and beef were tasty. No nacho platter brought to table until we asked. They give only 3 tortillas for a appetizer of queso fundido...didn't even eat half the dish before we ran out of tortillas. Overall disapointed. Won't return.
Great outside place
Service very slow and got items wrong. Food was good. Drinks were ok
I’ve been here a dozen times but never left a review. I have always had great service & food. This recent trip was a consistent as all of the other times. Our server Crystal was fantastic. Great recommendations, attentiveness & service. Which wasn’t easy because it’s always busy here. I believe it was the manager seating & he accommodated our change from outdoor seating to indoor as my date was chilly. Thank you. Will return soon.
It was great
Everything was perfect. The food was outstanding definitely worth every penny!
The food was great and the Margaritas even better!
Dos caminos food is out of this world, super delicious, their guacamole and margaritas are one of the best I’ve ever tried. This location is very convenient. My only complain is that they are very pricey but if you are willing to pay it’s worth the money.
great food! So much to choose from and they are accommodating to any food allergies.
My friend found a small dead insect in her water glass :( We came for chapulines but they didn't have it in stock despite still being listed on the menu. A very unexpected culinary adventure instead.
The food was great, the service was slow but the servers were very nice. The reason I gave it 3 stars was because of the bathroom situation. Thankfully I didn’t go until towards the end of our meal, but there were 2 unisex bathrooms and a long line, and once inside there was a funky smell, an overflowing garbage can of toilet paper, and a sign that said, “please do not flush toilet paper down the toilet.” My feeling is that if there is a plumbing situation in your establishment, and toilet paper can’t be flushed, there should be constant upkeep and cleaning in the facilities. That was not the case.
Bottomless Brunch was so much fun! my only complaint was that it seemed like the waitress was intentionally not coming to our table to refill our drinks as often as we would have liked but it was overall a great meal!
Delicious plentiful lunch. We had guacamole to start followed by quesadillas and salad. Everything was fresh, tasty and substantial.
I went with a friend for Sunday brunch. Great service, awesome food. Can't wait to go back and bring more friends
Flow was bland, water glasses never refilled, dirty plates left on the table, food delivered out of order, waitress forgot one appetizer (but apologized), space is cramped-would not recommend Dos Caminos-Many other great options for Mexican dining in the City.
Overall the food was great, maybe a bit overpriced. Service was ok (our server would go missing for long periods of time). The tables were so close together I could barely squeeze by to get to my seat without knocking over the dinner of the table next to us (I'm a fairly small person).
Enjoyable for an outdoor brunch experience because the patio is large and closed off from the sidewalk. The brunch menu was delicious! I have also been for dinner and it’s always been a great experience with great food and great service!
Food was horrible / tasteless. Worst Mexican I’ve prob ever had in nyc. Service was super slow - both food and drinks. Bathrooms were disgusting.
Delicious food, great ambiance, and friendly staff!
Waiter seemed bothered to serve us. Cheese dip came at the end of the meal, fajitas were cold and NEVER filled water glasses after initial served.
Excellent local Soho Mexican haunt with innovative menu and outside seating.
The service is amazing!!! Location is perfect!!! The food and drinks are really good!!!
The place is nice and the food is good. The drinks are a plus as well.
This is possibly the WORST restaurant experience I've ever had! I went to Dos Caminos Soho for my 21st Birthday because the prices look reasonable for NYC and the food looked great.
The evening started out with the waiter (I think jokingly?) making snide remarks about two of my friends them being late? It felt weird and kind of inappropriate. It got worse as it took him FOREVER to take our drink orders, then when he did, he weirdly looked at my ID for way too long. It wasn't like he was inspecting it to ensure it was real/that I'm of age, but he awkwardly stared too long for comfort. He continued to make uncomfortable jokes throughout this time, and all of my girlfriends and I felt really eerie. He hovered by our table and watched us talk throughout the whole night. He would attempt to flirt with us in a very condescending tone, just getting increasingly uncomfortable.
Once we got our food by 9:45pm we were ready to move on to dessert. My friend told him it was my birthday, but he said he wouldn't bring the dessert without me signing up for the rewards program. IT WAS SO WEIRD. It was my 21st birthday and he wouldn't bring me a small cake with a candle even when he had over a $350 bill? If that's not bad service, I don't know what is.
After PAYING for my birthday dessert, he brought the check. I left a smaller tip than I normally would for this absurd behavior and subpar service. He snatched it from the table as soon as I put the pen down, so rude.
Then to top it off, my mom complained the next day to the manager and they didn't do anything about it. In the past, even if I had the slightest issue at a restaurant, they do everything in their power to make it up. Of course I didn't let a crappy restaurant and creepy waiter ruin my 21st, but it's unfortunately a memory I'll always have to live with.
Our service was horrible and slow. They has the air conditioning on and it was freezing outside and the bathrooms were filthy. The food was mediocre. This place has gone very downhill
I used to like coming here, but it seems that the location is becoming more and more run down and the restaurant is not investing in the location. The espresso machine doesn't work, their margarita machine didn't work for a year already. My food was good, but they did not even bring out chips to get us started and my friend was not happy with her dish, which she enjoys so much more at another Dos Caminos location. No wonder the location was nearly empty, I won't be back soon.
I found this restaurant while browsing through Mexican restaurant options in Manhattan. Needless to say, the brunch deal is quite AMAZING! Their bottomless drinks are more than worth it, and the food was delicious. For the first warm Sunday of the spring, there were open tables outside which was a plus. The service was a little slow, but also enjoyable for the most part because I didn’t feel rushed or bothered. Just took a little longer to get a drink here or there. Overall, I was really pleased and would highly recommend to anyone, especially the SoHo location.
We had an amazing time! I had the breakfast quesadilla and it was super delicious. They also mean it when they say bottomless .. got a refill every time my glass was half empty! Excellent service!:) will definitely come here again!
Ordered 1 entry and some Items to share for our party of 2. Everything was Yummy and the Grilled Grapefruit Margarita was awesome!
