The food was mediocre at best. They sat outside in the cold without heaters then served less than tasty food. I’ve been to Dos Caminos plenty of times before this was by far the worst experience.
It was my friends birthday. We made reservations for 9. They close at 10 so to be fair maybe that’s why the lighting was super bright and not as romantic a setting as the last time I went 3 years ago. The food was still incredible. The guacamole and their three salsas are great. I love the
Jalapeño margarita! Although the staff was not as attentive as I would have liked mainly our fault because the birthday girl was late and I think they were winding down and we were close to closing the place but the waiter did an incredibly nice thing at the end. He remembered hearing me say the bday girl was lost but on her way when they first seated us and so he brought out a margarita with a candle in it which was really sweet. He said kitchen was closed so that’s the best he could do but we didn’t even ask for it so he went above and beyond. I’d go back for sure but it’s pricey so I’d only go for a special occasion and I’d definitely make earlier plans.
The staff was excellent, and the food was well above par
The food was not delicious at all. We tried the combo tacos and all variants were equally below our expectations. I only enjoyed my frozen margarita.
always enjoyable, good food, good drinks, good wait staff.
For the first time service was bad, no taste on the food; I DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED!!??? We come at least 4 times a year when we are in town as one of our favorite places, but this time very very disappointed; may be the last in a long time
2 Caminos in SOHO is GREAT! The general manager and manager are wonderful! We celebrated gf's birthday there on Thursday and it was lots of FUN! We are def going back.
Food is okay; service was basic bordering on indifference. Margarita was great. Overall not a place I’d return to.
Way too pricey for a mediocre experience
The service was amazing, our server made sure our cups were never empty and we had everything else we needed. The food was AMAZING! So much flavor, it was hot and fresh and I didn’t even finish omg. The drinks were really good! I recommend the frozen margarita. 10/10
The food was good. I just wish I knew ahead of time that the restaurant closed a half hour after our reservation.
They reported us as a no show even though we were early. Food and drinks were flavorless and expensive. Very nice waiter but couldn’t make up for the other down sides.
Excellent service, ambience and food. Awesome staff!
90 min bottomless brunch plus some of the tastiest food ever equals a guaranteed great sunday
The place is nice. It has good food and the price is reasonable.
The food was okay and the service was okay. Not the service I remember before.
Nice lunch at Dos Caminos SoHo. The cornbread skillet, Caesar salad and banana split were all delicious. My server Dominic was great. Nice outdoor seating, too.
My friend had send her drink back, my drink was weak for $17 mostly ice in a short "old fashion" glass. My steak was overcooked. I had to practically saw through it. Everyone was pleasant. Our server was sweet and accommodating. Good thing we weren't pleased with price for what we got.
The food was not edible nor I or my date enjoy the food…. I do not appreciate the server not letting me know when I ask for a double shot
She’s were going to charge its as for a whole drink…
Whoever is making the food there needs to be kicked out of the kitchen ..
I’ve been going to Dos Caminos ever since Steve Henson created the restaurants this is by far my worst experience
Terrible service and most of my party was sick the next day. OVERPRICED!
The food is okay, not incredible. Love the lgbtq vibes, but it’s an overall miss for a lovely dinner and
Worst service in Soho
Guac was extremely over priced and the waitress was mediocre at best. Also asked for a shrimp quesadilla and got a shrimp pizza. WTF!!
We went for bottomless brunch & there was 1 server for 3 tables, all with large parties. It’s not his fault service was slow, he had a lot to deal with. However, they advertised frozen margs in addition to the other standard brunch drinks. About 30min into our meal (2P-ish), they told us the frozen machine was broken & served a couple regular margaritas. Right after that, they said they had run out of margaritas. A Mexican restaurant. On Saturday brunch. They told us someone at another table had thrown up on a different guest but we def didn’t see that happen. Food was meh & not worth the price. Had a good time with the group but definitely would not return or recommend
Delicious food and hospitable service! Many thanks.
Food was fine but 20 minute wait for water, another 20 for basic drinks. It took us over an hour being seated to just order our mains
Absolutely horrible food!
Always have the BEST waiters and waitresses here!
Always enjoy the food and atmosphere. Great drinks too!
Horrible experience and I will never return to this restaurant. Everything was going well up until we received our appetizers. The waitress by the name of ASHLEY came to us to let us know that our main course was on the way. Once we received our food we didn't see her the rest of our stay. Not once did she come back to ask us was everything okay or did we like another beverage with our meal. We was able to eat our entire meal and also head to the restroom and still have yet to ask us if everything was okay after my husband tried to get her attention more than once. After speaking with the manager and reporting this person he rest assured that this issue would be taken care of. But I definitely wouldn't spend another penny in this place after spending over $120 to be treated like crap!
Food was great & service!
I made a reservation for Dos Caminos to end a family out with family that hasn’t been to the city or tried Mexican food. My family was surprised we didn’t have to wait long to be seated lol. That’s what happens when you make reservations and plan a head. We were a group of 7 and there were actually two other larger groups ahead of us. This slowed down service a little but the wait staff were friendly and we understood. I think we only really noticed because we were starving but it wasn’t unbearable. The drinks were well made and the food was amazing. I had the Baja surf and turf taco with the skillet poblano cornbread and finished with a tropical storm (I think that was the name of the drink). Could have done without the salt on the rim but I know it pairs well with tequila. The drink was smooth. Nice size shrimp for the taco and very wet seasoned. It had just enough kick to keep me coming back for more. I shared the cornbread with the table and we fell in love with the sweetness. Loved the ambiance and would definitely eat back here again. Allen was a greater waiter. I believe that’s what his name was. I suck with naming people but I can name good food lol
We didn’t hear much from our waitress but our host was ON IT! He made us feel great and took care of everything!
Good vibes, excellent server.
Like always a great experience. The best Mexican Food in NY. They expanded their menu and it’s phenomenal.
Expensive but yummy food-- always a better spot but Dos Caminos has its own unique ambiance which is very fun energetic and great for a lunch date or groups.
Would have given no stars if possible. Wow where to begin
- food is pretty mediocre to bad. The drinks were HORRIBLE even things you expect to be easy like margaritas and sangria. Clearly the bartender has no experience - I ordered an aperol spritz and got a glass of just aperol (never had this happen in my life). After sending it back, I asked for sangria, because at this point, explaining how to make an aperol spritz seemed beyond their capabilities. To my surprise, the sangria that they feature on their menu was equally awful. It tasted like white wine on ice that they added soda water too. There was zero fruit and it didn’t taste like sangria so I paid for a drink that I only took a sip of because it was completely undrinkable. My table mates said the margaritas were equally undrinkable, like how hard is it to make a marg or sangria well??
Otherwise guacamole was pretty good, that was the only decent thing about it. Honestly have no idea how dos caminos is still open. Also the server were overworked - there was only 1 guy waiting on tables in our entire section. What a waste of time and money.
Nice casual atmosphere and excellent food, with good value for the money. Would happily go back again.
We ate at the Dos Caminos in Meatpacking a few weeks ago and it was delicious, so we came to this one while we were in Soho. Waitress never paid attention to us, food took forever, entrees were totally different from last time (and not in a good way), my son’s dish was soggy. Staff was hanging behind the bar the whole time. Won’t go back. I realize reviewers leave reviews only for the extremes, but this was super bad.
