Dos Caminos - SoHo
Good food. Great service. Tasty drinks. Solid brunch go to
Yummy guacamole and chips, great margaritas (I had the one with organic agave - called “skinny”) and I have steak tacos naked style. Tables for two are very close together - the only draw back. If in the mood for Mexican this is a good choice.
Highly recommend Dos Caminos, the food and service are outstanding. We always visit this restaurant when we are at NYC, ALWAYS. Appetizer are small and a bit pricey but still delicious.
Our waitress was awesome, very attentive and didn't hover around too much. We sat towards the back so the music was not as loud, you could have a decent conversation without shouting. Reservations were for 5:45pm, by the time we left at 7:30 place was crowded not packed but no available seating. I can imagine on a nice day this is a hot spot. Food was good, not exception, not bad but good. Yes I would go back but would like to sit outside in the summer.
Food and drinks were excellent! I had a big group of 9, and we split two large bowls of incredible guacamole. I ordered a plate of enchiladas, but the portion size was small. Most places have a plate of 3 enchiladas, but I guess at a place called Dos, you should expect 2. Aside from that, everything was great!
Great waitress and delicious margaritas and tacos! Really fun atmosphere!
I love going to dos caminos for brunch their French toast it’s amazing it’s crunchy & perfectly sweet, they make their own caramel whip cream. Now that my son is eating I ordered off the kids menu & got a great deal entree, dessert, & juice for $8.50. The kids menu is actually really good. I just love this place so much. All of their food is good & fresh.
Terrible service, had to wait over half an hour even though we had a reservation. Slow service, waitress gave us wrong food. Watered down drinks. Wouldn’t come back.
Guacamole, chips and salsa were great. Drinks and sangria were much enjoyed. Service was pleasant, but a little slow. We were assured there was a vegan option, then told that "This is a Mexican Restaurant -- pretty much everything has cheese." We reminded the server that, online, there was a cashew crema. She checked with the kitchen, but found they were out. With the exception of our one vegan, the food was good. The Mole Short Ribs should have been served in brown mole, and not bare on the plate. The only sign of " with salsa verde" may have been the green rice.
The food is consistently amazing. I try and order something new every time and never had a bad meal. Bottomless drink options are also good.
Mediocre food and service, the ambience wasn’t all that considering the tables were very close together.
This was a second visit to Dos Caminos having tasted at a sister restaurant earlier in the week. We found that very good so decided on a second visit.
This time we didn’t over order as portions are generous. However the nachos on this occasion weren’t as good as before as the layering on top was fine but under it was lacking. Credit to the restaurant they changed this and wee very apologetic. The new ones wee excellent as originally expected. They also do great guacamole but we didn’t order this time but all the tables around had.
The mains - my wife loved their enchiladas in the green sauce and ordered again and we were not disappointed. The chicken quesadillas were also good as ordered by my son and he struggled to finish.
All downed with a jug of delicious sangria and a fine time had by all.
Excellent food, nice setting. Very good service
service was very slow made the overall experience not ideal
It was the first girls night for the year and it was horrible! The only thing my girls and I enjoyed was the nachos. The drinks were sour and the soda was flat. The salmon that I ordered was bland and the sides were undercooked. None of us enjoyed the entree that we ordered. I will never return.
I was not happy with the food we received. The food was not good, most of it went to waste because no one in my party was enjoying the meal.
Food was extremely bland and lacked any flavor. Except for guacamole. Guac was amazing.
Great local Mexican place with frozen Margaritas and outside seating.
Drinks were watered down and food was way under par.. we’ve been here before but this was not a good experience
This is the most chill of all the Dos Caminos which is why I always come back. You can have a conversation, the service is great and you can enjoy conversation with your company.
The food was relatively flavorless and over priced for what it is. My service was also horrible. After clearing away our plates, we had to wait another 30 minutes to flag down our server and ask for the check. She did not come and check up on up once. It ruined my opinion of this place
Service was very slow and disappointing. Food was good. They used to make the guac table side so it was disappointing to not have that as well.
Always a good brunch at Dos Caminos. I always take out of town visitors here. This and The Smith are usually safe bets.
They put us at a table in the back, which was fine until the large party next to us added an additional table. We had to move one table over and then we were pretty much right under that large party. The food was good, but the fajitas came out with so much smoke that the whole restaurant quickly became hazy and people started coughing. Our waiter was great, but he was overwhelmed with the amount of tables he had to take care of. I never got a refill on my drink and we were never offered more chips. Not a whole lot of Mexican restaurants to choose from in the city, but surely there are better ones out there than this one.
It's just ok, what I ordered was not good at all but my friend enjoyed his meal. I had the fish taco's over grains but it was more like fish slivers, barely any fish over a salad and quiona. Quiona really doesn't go with Fish Tacos. It should of been over rice. The fish was sparse. The guacamole was very good but man, they put a lot of onions in it. If you don't drink Tequila don't bother coming here because the Vodka selection absolutely sucked, it kinda ruined my night not having something decent to drink. Lastly, if you go, don't get a booth. You sink so low that the table is like at shoulder level.
Awesome food and awesome service! They made my Birthday brunch Amazing!
Met a friend here for lunch during work hours and had the best meal. We ordered the queso thinking it came with just chips and they brought out tortillas to dip in it. It was amazing! The service was incredible. We had to rush out back to work and they were so accommodating. I've also been here for brunch in the past and although this location doesn't do bottomless, it's a very fun time!
Great Food
I made reservations for brunch. They kindly let me sit at my table while waiting for my friend to park the car. We started with the guacamole pretty standard came with tortilla chips and three salsas mild, medium, hot. We got the bottomless drink special. Totally worth it. You have a choice of frozen margarita (I didn't love), mimosa (my pick) and sparkling wine. You can only get this special if you order an entree. I got the breakfast burrito the waitress said it was new. Has egg cheese chorizo inside. It was delish and filling. I put some of my left over guac on top lol the ambiance is nice there natural light. There were a lot of groups there so it's a cool spot to go to for brunch.
It took us THREE hours to get out of here. It was 30 mins before a waiter even came to give us water. Such a shame because the food was good.
Here for brunch. Our server was great but they were obviously understaffed. Took a long time to get our first round of drinks and every subsequent round took longer than it should've. Granted, our server did his best to keep our mimosas filled. Speaking of which, the bottomless deal is great if the whole table participates and you can down at least 4 or 5 drinks before your time is up. Again, this is dependent on how quick those drinks get to you. YMMV.
Food itself is pretty good. Get the plantains to share.
We spent $40/person before tip.
This place has gone down hill. Sorry. The floor was not great and the place was dirty. The drinks were also not good.
The service was lousy; slow, inattentive, and muddled. The food was good but be prepared to wait.
The service was terrible and it was my birthday! We had no clue who our waiter was so we just had to keep grabbing people so it took forever to get in and out!!
Best Mexican Street Corn ever!! Great menu selection.
Brunch was amazing! Food and service impeccable. Will definitely be visiting again :)
Friendly service, great food. We had a wonderful time!
Service was very slow. The food was okay. We had to docotor the guacamole as it was very bland.
Very enjoyable, but make reservations! They close early. On the busiest Halloween night where the Village parade is 4 blocks away, I watched them turn away over a hundred dinners from 830 onward. And the restaurant was fairly empty!
Second Halloween in a row that happened here.
Go figure.
I had a res and a great meal though.
I would not recommend this restaurant! The service was bad and the food was not that tasty especially for what they charged.
Even though I made a reservation, they incorrectly seated us. So we literally had to move to another seat after sitting down with drinks. For older people with minimal walking that isn't that easy. Then we received a different waiter because we were in a different section of the restaurant.
The food was nothing to brag to about. Really not worth the money they charged. My meal was not very tasty and everyone had small portions. Two of our dishes were very spicy even though we asked for them to be mild for our older guests. My father in law didn't even eat his meal because it tasted so bad!
The only thing I can not complain about is the guacamole appetizer.
Toward the tail end of our meal we couldn't hail down our waiter to order additional drinks. So we skipped a round of sangria's out of frustration for the service. I left a minimal tip!
I don't recommend the restaurant, nor will I ever return.
