The food we good but a bit pricey for what it is. Service was ok but a bit slow
I was dining in the bar area and watched 3 other tables get their food before me having been sat after me only from what I gather, they were more than 1 person.
After eating here many times at all of the locations, this was our worst experience. 3 of the meals came wrong. Even a simple plain cheese quesadilla for my picky son had chicken and beans in it. Another quesadilla ordered with steak AND a chicken had no chicken. My fish tacos came out cold. It took well over an hour for the food to come and there were no apologies. The manager said he was taking the three entrees off the bill and only took one off. It was impossible to find the waitress or anyone and we paid and left hungry and disappointed. Not sure after being regulars we will return again.
Chef and staff were amazing at accommodating food allergies in our party. Food and atmosphere were great.
Great happy hour but not a great waiter
The food and drinks never disappoint. Dos has a great happy hour and we really enjoyed it!
The corn was good but the avocado Caesar salad tasted like I was eating a brick of salt—so salty I couldn’t eat it
Service was great. Dylan took excellent care of us and Chef Ivette and Sarah were on top of everything. Friendly staff and great vibe!
One of the best mexican restaurant I ever went in NYC...if not the best !
Guacamole, quesadilla, tacos...everything tasted delicious
Dos Caminos is a classic. Of course the guacamole was delicious (it was a perfect amount for the four of us). We all got the tacos "naked," which means served in a bowl with organic grains instead of in a tortilla. Delicious and healthier! Our margaritas were great, but it took us a while to get them (we had to ask multiple people multiple times for the drinks). The waiter made up for it by brining us free mini drinks for my friend's birthday. Overall, good meal but service could have been a little better. I'm a regular at Dos Caminos locations in the city and they never really disappoint!
Food was great! Guac, queso fundido, Asada tacos & Carnita Tacos! and the frozen margaritas 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 Matt, our server, was awesome!
A friend and i came in and sat with JC again. He’s the best! Sarah the manager stopped by the table and said hello as well it’s really nice to see management so involved with service. Thank you Dos Caminos kitchen staff for always preparing great and consistent food!
The tropical margarita is great!
Food was decent. Drinks were terrible, everything was bitter and sour.
Came in a little late and received great service from JC. Sarah the manager was friendly and helpful. This is my go to spot in the neighborhood and it will continue to be.
Really good food.
Server was very friendly but took a long time to come to our table the whole night. We ordered 2 rounds of drinks in 2 hours and would have ordered more if the server came more often. Guac and chips were good. Tacos were alright but nothing really stood out.
Solid as always and superb service
We arrived 7 minutes past our reservation and they had given our table away. After waiting 15 more minutes they stuffed us a in a small corner. They had far too few waiters and we only saw our waiter twice. Food was good when it came but the table service was certainly subpar - hire more staff
Overall good experience
The food was SO SALTY! The staff was rude. We had dirty cups and utensils and when we asked for clean ones the waiter came back with more dirty ones and argued with us as if we were lying. He then left and never came back. We get a new waitress and she is rude as well and told us if we don’t think the cups are clean then we should just buy a bottle of sparkling water... WHAT?! you could actually just clean the cups properly. Half way through the meal I started to feel sick. I’m not sure if it was because of the crazy salt consumption or if the food was just bad all together. I’ve been to the Soho location and had an amazing time. This location should be closed indefinitely! Such a horrible experience and everything is so overpriced!!! NEVER AGAIN!
To get great food on cinco de Mayo was a real treat. The restaurant is loud due to Dj that night. Not sure if it’s that way all the time. The flavors and sauces were excellent. Good job Alex Fox.
Excellent food, good service but really loud entertainment on Cinco de Mayo.
I had a reservation, I was seated right away. My party came in pieces and my server was attentive and served everyone when they came. It was Cinco de Mayo, the mood was great and so was the music. Food was hot and served promptly. We definitely be back.
As always the food is great! The dj for cinco de Mayo was a nice touch to add to the energy
Every thing was great from we entered until we left. Lovely time I will definitely go back again
i had a very enjoyable brunch of Huevos Rancheros followed by a chocolate sundae. I was very good value. The service was friendly and attentive.
It was good
Pretty basic mexican fare, the sangria tasted like no alcohol in it, bottled beer $9.00 --so drinks were pricey for what they were. Service was slow.
I saw an employee walk in with a huge trophy for best margaritas in NYC! And they are great!
I love going to this restaurant and its never my first time here as I always go here for great Mexican food. But with this visit I was kind of disappointed with the service and the food. First and foremost I already drank water from the glass when I noticed it was broken, cracked from bottom to the top, and then We waited so long for the food and when it was served the sunny side up eggs was overcooked the homefries was cold hard and overcooked and i asked about where was the guacamole and chips we ordered our waitress was surprised coz we never got it.. the guac and chips was supposed to be served first as an appetizer while waiting for our main meal. So now guac and chips was served late with our main dish already served. Very very upset and disappointed overall as we were looking forward to eat there again. Not worth the value of what I paid for.. Would have given 2 stars..
I’ve eaten at dos caminos countless times in the past and had many good memories- the food and drinks were always good. Coming back here the other day I had the same expectations. Unfortunately it did not meet them. The grilled octopus tostados was cold and stale. There was not flavor. The chicken quesadilla was smothered in cheap bbq sauce and did not taste like what it was suppose to be. The winter baby gem salad was not fresh and looked so unappealing. The rice and beans were hard as rocks. WHAT HAPPEN TO THIS PLACE?
Over all, I will never come back.
The service pushed very hard to get us out quickly. Even clearing our waters from the table. Doesn’t seem right; but also, I feel like we go there often enough that we shouldn’t be treated that way. Not the first time we’ve felt rushed out by the servers.
so fun! our waitress was so friendly and let us hang out as long as we wanted!
Always great food and solid service. I’ve been here twice already this week! I’m sure I’ll be back again very soon!
Fantastic meal!! My family & I went for my Birthday, our waiter Ceasar was amazing, knowledgable of the menu, personable. Made us feel welcome, attentive but not pushy the overall experience was absolutely fabulous! The food oh my the food..started with the grilled grapefruit margarita, then had the traditional guacamole with chips next I had the Carnita Tacos slow roasted meat with jalapenos, slaw and fresh lime and cilantro. Others in my party had chicken tacos. Steak fajitas, Mole short ribs (that were fantastic) for dessert Ceasar gathered my nieces to tell them he would be bringing over dessert to sing Happy Birthday to me. It was so sweet! A huge thank you to Ceasar, the staff of Don Caminos for a Fabulous dining experience for my Birthday with my family on April 20th 2019!!
A really fun night with the late night happy hour. Calin the manager was extremely friendly and professional. Thanks everyone for a good night!
This is always our first stop back in New York. We love the guacamole and the soft tacos. We had the ceviche sampler for the first time and it was great.
Disappointing compared to previous visits here and downtown.
In order of importance:
Despite noting it on the rez and reminding the hostess the server failed to acknowledge our guest's birthday until after the check was dropped and I got up, found him and told him directly. He did apologize by bringing over free shots of frozen margaritas for us but most were not drinking that night.
Secondly, the food generally lacked flavor and we were disappointed that there wasn't any traditional salsa just things liked smoked and Verde.
Not sure why but server tended to giggle at everything we said to him( perhaps a language issue?)
In any case, I need to find a new place the next time that calls for fun Mexican.
Our family had a great brunch experience. The table was perfect, we could all hear each other & enjoyed our meals. We were never rushed & they let us stay as long as wanted. All had a lovely time.
