Sunday Brunch Avocado toast & Salmon & Avocado Benedict were both served with hollandaise sauce that was broken. Frozen margaritas were excellent
food was not good , waiter doesnt care to noisy to expensive.
Service was super slow. Place was pretty dead and it still took over ten minutes just to order a drink and even longer to finally get it. Food was nothing special at all.
Food and ambiance were great. Service wasn’t so great. Waiter ghosted us. Couldn’t find him to order drinks. Had to go to hostess station to find him so we could close out the bill.
We waited 90 minutes for food. They didn’t offer chips, apps or apologies. Food was cold and mediocre.
We had a 7:15 reservation. When we came in at 7:10, we we told that they were running behind. We asked how long we'd have to wait and the hostess said "anywhere between 15 minutes and three hours." Not a particularly helpful response. The hostess advised that we sit at the bar and buy a drink while we wait, so we did. 45 minutes later, we went to check on our table. They said "We called your name twice and you didn't answer" - despite the fact that we'd been sitting exactly where the hostess had sat us!! We thought the worst was over. We were wrong.
At 8pm, we were seated at our table. We've already had time to look at the menu, so we ordered quickly. At 8:45pm, we ask where our food was. Our waiter was unable to provide an estimate for when it would be ready. He was also unable to tell us how many people's meals were in front of us. He told us "we're very backed up. Some people have been waiting 45 minutes!" We patiently told him that we are those people. At this point, he had not even brought us any chips to snack on. He said he would send the manager over. He never did.
Our food comes out at 9:30 (just as a reminder, this was a 7:15 reservation). It is fine. One of the dishes was cold, but we were worried that if we sent it back, it would take another hour and a half to fix it. At the end of the meal (10:15pm or so), the waiter sent over a round of drinks on the house for the wait. While this would have been nice an hour earlier, at this point we just wanted to leave as soon as possible, and most of us still had half full drinks in front of us that we hadn't finished from our last round.
I have eaten at Dos Caminos several times before and enjoyed the food and experience, but this was truly appalling. This is the first negative review I have ever written, but that's how frustrated I am. I understand restaurants get backed up, but the staff just handled it so poorly!!
Very expensive and the service was terrible. They brought the wrong stuff and it took us forever to get the waiter to notify them
Service was unbelievably slow. And the food was just OK at best. Very disappointing as we were very much looking forward to it.
Another great night thanks to the team at Dos Caminos Park Ave! JC is the best! Thank you
The guacamole was amazing! Great for a business lunch.
The restaurant caught on fire while we were there and we had to leave without any food and find somewhere else to eat brunch at 1:00 pm on a Sunday - which is hard to do.
We regularly eat at Dos Caminos. Love the food, service, and drinks!
We love Dos Caminos all locations !
It was disappointing that the lunch menu does not include the avocado Caesar salad.
Servers were excellent.
Super fun night. I came here again this week for the happy hour at the bar. JC is the best! He’s very friendly and always greets me and my friends with a warm welcome. He provides great service and hospitality. The kitchen is always consistent and puts out great food. Thank you for a wonderful Halloween night
this was so bad. never brought our drinks. made food wrong. no salt, no water refills. 30% of the tables were covered with old food and dirty dishes. ugh! what a waste. terrible.
Dos Caminos offers exceptional contemporary Mexican cuisine that is hard to find in NYC. I had the guacamole, the seared tuna and the hot fudge sundae for dessert. Everything was delicious. My server Paulino was absolutely wonderful and helped me to make the best decisions when ordering. The prices are also quite reasonable for the quality and location.
Service was unfortunately terrible—restaurant was not crowded yet we waited over 30 min for drinks, another 30 for appetizers—a disappointing experience
Came with friends for a fun night out. JC is the best! Ask for him to be your server. The food is always consistent and great. Sarah the manager stopped by the table to say hi as well. She’s fantastic.
this is not a great restaurant, convenient for getting a table with a large group last minute. super corporate. way better mexican food available in nyc.
Way too noisy. Guacamole not made at table. Seems to come from a vat in the kitchen. I thought it had mayonnaise. My beef dish was smothered and baked beans sauce and some sort of cream. Lacked authenticity. Would not go back.
Nice restaurant with average food, drinks and service
I cannot say "yes" or "no" as to whether I would recommend the restaurant to a friend.
Some of the dishes are overpriced for what they are, and overall the food is just okay.
The service and attentiveness is fine. I think there are better Mexican restaurants
without the glitz.
We went to celebrate my son’s 16th birthday. I had let the restaurant know view our reservation. My son has had an eventful childhood, full of surgeries and therapies, not many friends. Dos Caminos treated him like a friend, they all signed a card for him and made his night sooooo special! Thank you!!!!!
Service slow. Food mediocre - spare rib mole was dry and bland. Rice and beans were barely warm. Arroz con creme seemed like it sat for a while and congealed into a lump - too bad because it was the best part of the entree.
Waiter seemed a bit off- taking food early etc.
For some reason our server was having an off day. My colleague and I went for lunch. It was not that busy save for a large party in the back. We didn't mind waiting as she told us the big party in the back wanted to split the check many ways. However, we never received the chips and guacamole that we ordered and waited a while for our food. The large party left and there were 2 tables including us and while we waiting another table of 2 was seated. No one came to check on us or refill water. After I went to the hostess, we watched her search for our server and then were given a small dish of complimentary chips, dip and guacamole like what they give at the bar. When the large party requested a split, we should have been covered first or by someone else. I was not impressed with the overall handling of the situation. I've been here before and I will return but will be weary if there's a big party in the back.
Good quality food and service
My husband and I made reservations there for a "quick" Tuesday dinner. Our waiter was really great but he was alone and had about 40 tables to serve. Our drink arrived 30 min after we ordered, my husband got his dinner and after he had finished I got mine. So we basically ate "alone" . With this being said, no I would never recommend Park Ave location. And I will not be going back. I do feel bad for the waiter who was really great and kept a positive spirit.
Our waitress was amazing
I really enjoyed my brunch. The new breakfast burrito, which is enormous, was very tasty with chorizo complimenting the egg. The service is excellent.
Great atmosphere. Nice staff. A bit of a rocky start with service, but it happens. Have dined here before and will go back.
We've been to the Park Ave. location many times when visiting the city. Always good food and drinks! It is a VERY busy and loud place, so hard to have a conversation. The grilled shrimp quesadillas and carne asada are our favorite dishes. This time we tried the guacamole with bacon. It's the basic guacamole with sauted onions and bacon in a kind of BBQ sauce on top. It was fine, but didn't really seem to go together. We'll stick with the regular guacamole next time. The staff really hustles and ties to keep up with all the customers. Our waiter was great, until after our meal when we sat for at least 20 minutes trying to get our check. Finally another waiter noticed us an got our check. A very minor inconvenience.
Caesar!! Great margaritas!
Fantastic except the 20 minute wait for drinks after we were seated.
Dos Caminos is always a good look. And now vegan options!! Mind blown!
We had a 2 year old with us and they could not have been more accommodating! Wait staff was friendly and kind, conscious of food allergies too.
I have been to multiple Dos Caminos in the city but this was my first time to this one in particular. Like the others, there is a nice, fun atmosphere. What I was unimpressed with was the food and service. I ordered the chicken tacos and they were extremely underwhelming - very little flavor to the chicken, the tortillas were so soggy they were ripped open on the bottom, and served with rice and beans that were already cold. I’m thinking our meals sat in the window for awhile since the food was barely warm and our waitress was not attentive. We had to ask to order after 15 minutes and had to ask for refills on water. Not a good value - overpaid for an underwhelming experience.
had been here before on my at birthday, Big difference a year makes. Last year I had excellent service and many extras were given to me because it was my birthday. I was truly impressed and that's why I wanted to come back this year. This time wasn't nearly as good as last year . The food was very good, but no extras. The service was very slow and we wait a much longer time than usual for our drinks, food, etc. to be served to us. This was a Thursday night, not a weekend or Friday. It was crowded, but still, the Server seemed to be very busy in our section and the wait was long. When I got my fabulous birthday desert, there wasn't even a candle on it, which I did notice there were others in the place that were having birthdays and I saw their deserts with lighted candles and they were sung happy birthday. Anyway, it was a lovely evening and I would come back because the food was really good. I would definitely try a different location next time.
Food was great, service was solid at best.
The shame of it is how this chain has gotten progressively worse. I visited this location based on past experiences. They put nothing on the table to nibble on while you wait for your food.I am pretty certain I will NEVER visit again. The waiter was like Casper. Saw him when you ordered and once after that soon after food was served. Would have loved to have seen him once I began eating , He never stopped by while other waiters were constantly checking on their table. I could of told him about the toughest steak I have ever eaten. I now have an idea as to what chewing on a football would taste like. This was by far the worst waiter I have ever encountered. Unfortunate because I do remember when this use to be a decent place. All I could say is avoid this pricey establishment where the service and quality certainly does not justify the cost.
