Dos Caminos – Meatpacking Ratings and Reviews
The service was excellent. We had limited time for dinner as we had to make a show. The server was very accommodating. Margaritas are great and the food is pretty good-and comes out quickly. Downstairs is VERY loud, but our table upstairs allowed for conversation.
I love the food especially the guacamole. I have been to various dos caminos locations. This one the music was disco and loud. Wouldn’t go back there. Asked for it to be turned down. They did their best, but not good enough.
Loud music detracts from me enjoying conversationS. I DONT WANT TO HAVE TO YELL.
I ate brunch here another time and really enjoyed it. Food and ambience were all good. This time I made reservation online and was shown to the worst table in the restaurant. It was in a very busy area by the bathroom though lots of other tables were free. The food seem overpriced compared to brunch and everything arrived stone cold. Very disappointing.
Great welcome however pretty much everything after this was flawed. Mid starter my plate was removed from the table (Yes I had food on my plate). Mains were sent back as we had only just began our starter. Mains were returned cold as they had now been sitting in the kitchen for 15 minutes. (Tacos that have been sitting around for 15 mins become soggy and inedible, incase you wondered and placing plates under a heater does not work for longer than a few minutes)
Having spoken to the manager regarding these events I advised him to decide what the best course of action would be, to which he gave us all a taster cocktail each and 3 deserts to share, which at this point I thought, that's good. When I asked for the bill, the manager said to me he had removed the deserts from the bill. (FYI - I didn't order the deserts, so why would I pay for them) There was absolutely no discount on the food, even though no one had really eaten. To end the story, no tip was given and the waiter was extremely upset. He followed us outside and explained how we should conduct ourselves in the US. Please bear in mind half of our party were American.
Bottom line to end this wonderful review is that the venue is lovely, the food had it been hot would have tasted amazing and had the team communicated a bit better the above would have never been written. Unfortunately the excuse of being in a busy big city no longer works. Good customer service costs nothing.
The overall atmosphere, location and drinks were pretty good. Though the food could have been much better specially for the prices of the main dishes. Their guacamole was reasonable, a good portion and pretty good; but their tacos weren't my favorite. Would return for casual drinks but not for the food.
JUST OK - I've been eating here for years when in the city and I have to say, it was just OK. Our server was unattentive, got our order wrong and the person who delivered our meal dropped it and ran. The table was sticky and the noise level was very loud. Reminds me of a Denny's after the bars close. I can no longer recommend you to my friends when in NYC. There are too many other good places to eat. Zero customer service. Get it together.
The food is over priced for the quality and amount. For the price there are quite a few restaurants in the area that are better. The food brought to our table was cold and an item was wrong. no apology or concession. It's too bad. This used to be a favorite place for me.
Haven't been in about a year. It's really gone down hill. Server rarely came by our table. At one point we had to get up and find her for a drink order. Food arrive almost one hour after we ordered. Really disappointed. This location used to be a terrific place. Think twice before going
I'm a regular here for the bottomless brunch option, which is excellent value for the area.
The food is solid and the options plentiful. The service can be slow at times, but waiting staff are always friendly.
We had an unfortunate issue whereby a waitress dropped an entire drink onto the back of my friends dress. Mistakes happen and the manager comped her entirely meal to make up for it.
The host aren't that friendly, the guy was okay, the girl, a smaller girl with dark hair had somewhat of an attitude, but it was fine our server was Amazing! Jonathan! And it just made the experience so great. Victoria Angela Came over and sang for us such a beautiful talented girl! Will definitely go back to see them.
Overall it was nice vibes.
Decided to stop by for a quite bite while shopping in the neighborhood. Our server was absolutely delightful, providing great service and checking up on us frequently. The food came out hot and was tasty too!
My only complaints were how unaccommodating the kitchen was to changes and the smell of the first floor.
I was not impressed with this place. The server had a really nasty attitude and wasn't pleasant at all. The only time she smiled was when she brought the bill and said thank you for coming in. The food was mediocre, nothing special.
The only thing I liked was the place itself, we went in the evening and it was a pleasant atmosphere.
