Dos Caminos – Meatpacking

Food was great and found the serving sizes to be pretty large! Prices were also affordable considering the location. Overall experience was great however the AC was not working the day I went and it was very humid and uncomfortable inside, which made for only 3 stars.. would deff return though!
Good was great as were the cocktails. Never disappoints here.
Food & service are pretty bad. Great location, though!
The server was confused, did not explain the menu accurately, and therefore got our order wrong. Jittery guy.
Atmosphere was not very NYC.
Overall Dos Caminos is excellent, the location in Meatpacking Area is fabulous. The food is phenomenal and are the drinks. I have ate at all the locations in NYC and have to say all are terrific. Go and check out this trendy restaurant.
Level of food is worse than your local Mexican but the location is great
We had the tostadas de pulpo and the tamal dumpling and both were AMAZING !! The costillas con maíz was to die for. Definitely try the watermelon basil margarita 👍🏽
We’ve eaten at this location many times before and it was always a great experience. This time, not so much. We sat outside.
The tap water was warm - really warm. Not one drop of condensation formed on our glasses. Everyone else around us seemed to have ice in their water. I thought it was simply an oversight until our water glasses were refilled - with warm water again
My prickly pear mule tastes like cranberry vodka backwash- it was horrible.
We waited over 25 minutes after receiving our guacamole/chips for the entrees to arrive. My husbands sizzling steak was great. My chicken tacos were cold....
Then we had to wait another agonizing 30 minutes to get our check. Service was extremely poor. Seemed like our waiter could only do one task at a time.
Hoping it was just an single poor experience. Would go back, but if the service is bad again, I’m done.
We went there on a Saturday.. the place looked nice I mean of course it's in the meatpacking and there was a lot of people out door sitting area looked packed. The food sucked we didn't enjoy anything that we ordered also overpriced but the drinks were okay! Don't plan on going back! You could have much better food at a simple Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood! Waste of money!
Loved the food ... Relatives in from out of town!!
The host Robert is amazing .........................................
Not server fault but not enough staffing, bartender and manager should have helping single server with 7 tables.
Good food, good area, good prices. An overall good spot to take someone on a date. Ask to sit outdoors (when the weather is warm).
Great food and service. Good for large groups.
We were a large group. Service was a bit spotty however the staff was very pleasant, helpful, and patient, which made up for it. Would suggest this location for large personal group destination outings. If you’d like to sit and enjoy each other’s company, this is the place. The Park Ave location is better for professional and/or quick outings. The Pros we were not rushed. The Cons they were not rushed either, things came out rather slow. The food portions are a bit small for the pricing. The portions have reduced in size over the years. For example the large guac is essentially the same amount a small guac would be at a family Mexican restaurant. However, it’s offered in a large shallow (ridiculously heavy) bowl. The guac is great in quality however it’s not a great sharing experience. The only food complaint was from one guest regarding the fish tacos. I tried a bit. They were terrible. Everyone else greatly enjoyed their food selections. The selections ranged from Sizzling fajitas, free range chicken, quesadillas, empanadas to skirt steak. The sangria pitchers were watered down. Way too much ice, which heavily altered the taste. Sad because it’s cheap quality wine to begin with, seems unnecessary to skimp in that area. More Pros than cons, therefore likely to return.
The food is excellent, the service as well. Everyone seemed to have a good time. Good ambiance.
I always love going here for brunch and the service and food was great, but the air conditioning was NOT working on pretty much the hottest day of the year! It was almost unbearable.. everyone, even some employees , were fanning themselves with menus.. The usually delicious margaritas were even wilted. We should have been told before, not fair to the guests OR the employees...We got an apology after ( since I’m a member of the restaurant club), but seriously???
Excellent Mexican food, revisited, lighter, tastier and original. Excellent margaritas as well
My wife and I came here for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. I made reservations via OpenTable. We were seated right away in their upstairs dining room. I started with the beer and margaritas. I really enjoyed it!
We got guac and chips and salsa to start for the table and the guac was super fresh and delicious!
Service was a bit slow but they were very busy that day. Our waiter was great about it. Overall, we had a great time here and love the food! I would definitely go back!
The restaurant had no AC. The veggie dish was unavailable, no cauliflower? No spice? Wth???
I went last night for dinner with my friend to celebrate my 28th birthday . I sat at a table outside since the weather was beautiful. My server was so nice & he made my experience special. Unfortunately he didn't completely win my friend over, but I understand it was busy. I waited for my friend at the table for 1 hr & 30min. I was surprised the hosts sat me as an incomplete party but they were nice. They need better communication from the servers but it happens in every restaurant.
The tacos were amazing and the chips & salsa trio was great.
At the end, the server put candles on our dessert. It was a nice surprise everyone sang happy birthday to me. Overall I had a good time. I will be dining again soon.
The service in the check-in was horrible, very rude hostess who didnt pay attention when i got there and asked for a outside table, 30 minutes later, after she passed 2 groups in front of us, i asked why that was happening and she literally said that " was not her fault if i didnt check in", what? We stayed there because i was starving and it was 90 degrees to walk and look for a new places. But for sure not coming back.
Very nice dinner on the terrace with my daughter. The waitress was efficient and prompt and the food very good.
We celebrated my wife’s 1 year anniversary of starting her own business practice. Our server brought us celebratory cake and sparkling champagne.
Per the reservation I made note this was a birthday celebration.
When we arrived, I told the host who acknowledged the birthday celebration. When I strategically left the table after lunch I AGAIN told the host to remember it was my daughter’s birthday, which was acknowledged again. The waiter then asked if we wanted desert which we declined - expediting a simple candle & a happy birthday. Nothing. When we left expressed my disappointment to which the host said “well you never ordered desert.”
Sorry, after paying $150 for lunch and 3x making note this was birthday - well there are plenty of places to eat in NYC (we’re not tourists) - so never again to Dos Caminos #disappointed
A uniquely poor experience on Pride Day (Sun Jun 30). Had a reservation for 6 including friends here from out of town for the Parade. We showed up at the appointed hour of 5:30 pm only to find the inside a blaring discotheque so loud I could barely make myself heard to the reservationist. They were unable to seat us at all and finally told us the only table was in the midst of the blaring interior, rather than outside where there appeared to be many patio tables. We left in dismay and were forced to cobble together another reservation on the fly. Since I couldn't cancel my Open Table reservation I couldn't make a new one and another in my party needed to do it. Why advertise rainbow tacos if you can't get your act together to serve them??
The food and drinks were great! Even had a drag show during brunch which was fun. My friends and I went for brunch to celebrate World Pride.
My only complaint was the restaurant was a little warm downstairs. Like the ac came on and off.
Really loud music. Food was excellent as always. Staff are knowledgable, excellent and good value wines, margaritas and tequilas to satisfy all. Great for groups.
We visited the restaurant (Party of three) at 8pm and the front desk attendant was extremely rude and said our table is not ready at the outside patio. So we sat down at the bar area and ten minutes later she came and said our table is ready outside and we should follow her. As we came outside she said our reservation is for two (it’s not true) and we should wait another five minutes until she figures out whether table is ready. We spoke to the manager and he said he will comp the margarita we ordered for dinner. It was an awful experience.
Our server saved our experience. We were there for Pride Saturday - so things were a little crazy. But when the host sat us, the AC in the area was not working, so it was HOT. When we asked to be moved, the host threw us attitude actually saying that he had already sat us so we had to keep that seat.
We were about to leave when a server came along and invited us to sit at a high top in the bar area and he would serve us there. He was great. Food was good, as always, music was fun and his service was perfect. I wish I could remember his name... he really saved the day.
Waitress wasn’t friendly and it took forever for food and drinks to arrive.
Superb location. Great neighborhood. The staff was friendly and helpful. Food always good. This place will stay in the rotation.
Amanda the host was very accommodating on the phone, the phone tag they need to say is wayyyyyy toooo long. Yes the margaritas are great!
Service was very slow tonight, took forever to get water and the bill. Food was fantastic as usual.
Thank you for sitting us outside as requested! ❤️
Reception was rude and arrogant when we asked for outdoor table. Food was dry and needed to ask for sauce. Waitress was inattentive, took 3 reminders to get our brunch cocktails.
Last time we’re going there.
First time at the Dos Caminos - Meatpacking loction. Excellent cafe/patio area for summer brunch dining. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff, shared recommendations on gluten-free options. Well-paced meal, delicious food as always!
I love the food at Dos Caminos! Everything I have ever had here is the best version of it. Queso Fundido, guacamole with bacon, enchiladas, fish tacos.... yum!
Great food, a little overpriced though. Awesome frozen margaritas
Great restaurant with great food and strong drinks!
Server was extremely slammed, drinks took 30 mins plus each round and extra tortillas never came despite asking 3 times. Other than that meal was great and we had a good time.
Never disappoints. Always a great meal! The service, food and drinks are on point!
