Dos Caminos – Meatpacking

I went last night for dinner with my friend to celebrate my 28th birthday . I sat at a table outside since the weather was beautiful. My server was so nice & he made my experience special. Unfortunately he didn't completely win my friend over, but I understand it was busy. I waited for my friend at the table for 1 hr & 30min. I was surprised the hosts sat me as an incomplete party but they were nice. They need better communication from the servers but it happens in every restaurant.
The tacos were amazing and the chips & salsa trio was great.
At the end, the server put candles on our dessert. It was a nice surprise everyone sang happy birthday to me. Overall I had a good time. I will be dining again soon.
The service in the check-in was horrible, very rude hostess who didnt pay attention when i got there and asked for a outside table, 30 minutes later, after she passed 2 groups in front of us, i asked why that was happening and she literally said that " was not her fault if i didnt check in", what? We stayed there because i was starving and it was 90 degrees to walk and look for a new places. But for sure not coming back.
Very nice dinner on the terrace with my daughter. The waitress was efficient and prompt and the food very good.
We celebrated my wife’s 1 year anniversary of starting her own business practice. Our server brought us celebratory cake and sparkling champagne.
Per the reservation I made note this was a birthday celebration.
When we arrived, I told the host who acknowledged the birthday celebration. When I strategically left the table after lunch I AGAIN told the host to remember it was my daughter’s birthday, which was acknowledged again. The waiter then asked if we wanted desert which we declined - expediting a simple candle & a happy birthday. Nothing. When we left expressed my disappointment to which the host said “well you never ordered desert.”
Sorry, after paying $150 for lunch and 3x making note this was birthday - well there are plenty of places to eat in NYC (we’re not tourists) - so never again to Dos Caminos #disappointed
A uniquely poor experience on Pride Day (Sun Jun 30). Had a reservation for 6 including friends here from out of town for the Parade. We showed up at the appointed hour of 5:30 pm only to find the inside a blaring discotheque so loud I could barely make myself heard to the reservationist. They were unable to seat us at all and finally told us the only table was in the midst of the blaring interior, rather than outside where there appeared to be many patio tables. We left in dismay and were forced to cobble together another reservation on the fly. Since I couldn't cancel my Open Table reservation I couldn't make a new one and another in my party needed to do it. Why advertise rainbow tacos if you can't get your act together to serve them??
The food and drinks were great! Even had a drag show during brunch which was fun. My friends and I went for brunch to celebrate World Pride.
My only complaint was the restaurant was a little warm downstairs. Like the ac came on and off.
Really loud music. Food was excellent as always. Staff are knowledgable, excellent and good value wines, margaritas and tequilas to satisfy all. Great for groups.
We visited the restaurant (Party of three) at 8pm and the front desk attendant was extremely rude and said our table is not ready at the outside patio. So we sat down at the bar area and ten minutes later she came and said our table is ready outside and we should follow her. As we came outside she said our reservation is for two (it’s not true) and we should wait another five minutes until she figures out whether table is ready. We spoke to the manager and he said he will comp the margarita we ordered for dinner. It was an awful experience.
Our server saved our experience. We were there for Pride Saturday - so things were a little crazy. But when the host sat us, the AC in the area was not working, so it was HOT. When we asked to be moved, the host threw us attitude actually saying that he had already sat us so we had to keep that seat.
We were about to leave when a server came along and invited us to sit at a high top in the bar area and he would serve us there. He was great. Food was good, as always, music was fun and his service was perfect. I wish I could remember his name... he really saved the day.
Waitress wasn’t friendly and it took forever for food and drinks to arrive.
Superb location. Great neighborhood. The staff was friendly and helpful. Food always good. This place will stay in the rotation.
Amanda the host was very accommodating on the phone, the phone tag they need to say is wayyyyyy toooo long. Yes the margaritas are great!
Service was very slow tonight, took forever to get water and the bill. Food was fantastic as usual.
Thank you for sitting us outside as requested! ❤️
Reception was rude and arrogant when we asked for outdoor table. Food was dry and needed to ask for sauce. Waitress was inattentive, took 3 reminders to get our brunch cocktails.
Last time we’re going there.
First time at the Dos Caminos - Meatpacking loction. Excellent cafe/patio area for summer brunch dining. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff, shared recommendations on gluten-free options. Well-paced meal, delicious food as always!
I love the food at Dos Caminos! Everything I have ever had here is the best version of it. Queso Fundido, guacamole with bacon, enchiladas, fish tacos.... yum!
Great food, a little overpriced though. Awesome frozen margaritas
Great restaurant with great food and strong drinks!
Server was extremely slammed, drinks took 30 mins plus each round and extra tortillas never came despite asking 3 times. Other than that meal was great and we had a good time.
Never disappoints. Always a great meal! The service, food and drinks are on point!
The food was so so just nothing special for the price. The place was nice and the service was good but the food was lacking
We really enjoyed Dos Caminos the first two times we went. This time, our table wasn't ready because we wanted to eat outside, which was fine - I guess I should've clarified on the reservation. When we went to the bar to wait, the bartender was ANNOYED when we asked for drinks. Literally rolled his eyes when we ordered and asked for our check. Waited for close to 40 minutes when we were told 20 and then had the worst experience with Mandell outside who could not have been more rude. Have no idea why he works in the restaurant industry. Couldn't be bothered when we asked for drinks and was irritated taking our orders. Surprise surprise was nice when it came time to pay our bill. The large ($28) guac was more like a small and was below average. Definitely will not come back and will not recommend to our friends and will not bring our friends who are visiting NY. Not sure if you are under new management or ownership but this was horrible.
Good food, not great. Cool spot, greAt drinks! MARGS
Fun spot but the servers visit you once a half hour and the drinks take forever.
Took a bunch of friends to Chelsea to show them around and we decided to do brunch here. Food was good, server was extremely accommodating although there seemed to be some dilemma with communication with the kitchen multiple times and the stress of the server was not transparent. My only real complaint is the SNOBBY hostess girls in front. I’ve met more friendly faces at an airport...
Service was HORRIBLE. It was also so cold that we BEGGED them to lower the AC. We never got our sides, couldn’t order a second round of drinks and waited 30+ minutes for a check. Absolutely abysmal experience.
The food is very bland. Also, the guacamole used to be made tableside, but this time they just brought it to us.
Food was great, unlimited margs were great, and service was great. Good music volume and great atmosphere.
The service was extremely slow. It took us an hour to get our food and when we did my chicken was dry and cold and the other meals at our table just were not fresh. Our server was very inattentive and paid way more attention to the table of loud drunk birthday girls behind us. I was very disappointed in my first time experience here and will not be back. Food is too expensive for its quality and the service.
Had to wait 60 min for table outside.
Our waitress was great and the food was excellent.
Food was good -service was terrible.
Pricey for Mexican food but that’s pretty average for New York. Nice place for a sit down bite to eat in the city
Met up with an out of town, yet native New Yorker , guest at 2:30 on a Friday before memorial weekend. I had made a reservation for 3:00 so was a bit early. I had requested a table outside and I was told there was a 30 minute wait even though there were empty tables outside. I was seated inside and it ended up much better than outside, to my surprise! There was great music and the vibe was much better indoors than outside! Service was great! I think should just be seated outside if you want some sun, that’s all.
Passion fruit margaritas were amazing! The queso with chips was delicious!
Understaffed for the amount of customers they had. Bathrooms were atrocious, waiter was too busy to check in on us -we had to wave him down a few times and then I felt rushed to leave and free up the table. Was given the check without first exploring any dessert options.
Food was good - place got loud after 7pm. Women’s bathroom needed attention. Two of three stalls worked but needed to be cleaned. Drink glasses were left on the sink.
The food and drinks were fantastic. Service wasn’t great though - we had to keep asking for things (water, plates, refills).
It’s in a nice neighborhood, made a reservation and wanted outside seating they said you have to get on the back of the line for that so we did , then they forgot about us. Drinks were bad, asked for top shelf liquor and got low end . All and all not a pleasant experience.
Party of 5. After being shown to our table promptly, service was absolutely terrible. Never found out who really was our waiter. Had to wave down someone EVERYTIME something was needed ... even our bill! In total, 5 different people waited on us.
Details: 10-15 mins and no sign of a waiter. Had to call over a Manager who took our drink order and appetizer order. Long wait for drinks to appear...you get the idea. No need to continue.
I was last at this location last year....and service was slow then.
This will be the last time I give my business here.
