Dos Caminos – Meatpacking

We had a table (upstairs) for brunch. The food was delicious. The service was wonderful.
Went for brunch on a Sunday with 6 people, would definitely go back and recommend to a friend! Delicious food with extensive brunch menu complete with American and Mexican influenced food, plus bottomless option with multiple beverages! Service was excellent, very kind waitress who was quick to refill drinks and diligent about our orders. Friend from LA said it was the best Mexican food he'd had in NYC yet!
The hosts were very confused, snobby, and unaccommodating. We were told upon arriving that our guests had already arrived (they hadn’t, they were with us). I had to insist in order to get us all seated without the unknowns who they’d seated at our table. It was weird.. The room in which we were seated was practically empty, and I felt a big deal was made for nothing. The food is good, service was good, but overall price doesn’t justify the experience.
Loved the food and the service! One of the things we got to split was the Chorizo Mac & cheese and it was delicious. Also the Calle Fresca margs.
Mediocre dining experience.
The bottomless brunch is a very good option! I recommend.
Food was good, especially the Guacamole which is always good here. Service was efficient but lacking a little energy, but then so was I on a Saturday lunchtime!
Good atmosphere but the food and drinks were totally mediocre yet fairly expensive.
Excellent Location & Ambiance, Food and Service. I highly recommend Dos Caminos -- Meatpacking District.
Waiter unattractive spending inordinate time with younger larger party. Food was bland, except for the over use of Chile which made it too hot, unexceptional and otherwise not at all flavorful.
The naked tacos were good. The veggie enchiladas average and the winter citrus salad was terrible. The salad was made with canned citrus, no interesting flavors and just butter lettuce. We were placed next to a SUPER loud table, along a wall with a booth on one side. We couldn’t even have a conversation with the 4 of us. There would have been ample space a little bit down the wall which would have been a tiny bit better. Even the server had a hard time hearing what we were ordering. Service was incredibly slow.
Birthday dinner. Guacamole was great.
Good quality food, service could have been better. Always a great choice for Mexican food.
Sehr freundliches Personal.
Great food and ambiance but service was terrible. The server continued to forget drinks and our order. & Told ya he was hungover after telling us he drank a whole bottle of grey goose the night before.
The service was slow despite the fact that there were several open tables. My boyfriend found a small rock in his nacho appetizer. We told the staff who tried to tell us that it was a piece of the avocado stem. It was dark and we turned on the flashlight on the phone to check as we thought that’s what it was initially. It was definitely a rock. They “remade” the appetizer and it came back half the size. The manager did not address the issue. The server told us that they “told the chef”. We were there for 2.5 hours and only had 1-2 drinks simply because the server was never around. The food was great but the service was lacking tremendously.
Had some good margaritas, guacamole with the Smokey bacon (baaaacon) which was exceptional. The spiced ribs braised for 7 hours were flavorful and tender and my friends mole enchiladas were tasty. We finished with flan (raisins are a nice touch) and some sipping tequila shots. Better atmosphere than the midtown location and close to the Whitney which was our next stop
They sat us at the worst table in the restaurants. Second floor, alllll the way in the back separate from all other tables, dark, awkwardly shaped table and behind where the waiters stand to do the bills. The guac is ok but the salmon was slimy and gross. When I asked to be moved they wouldn't budge.
Super busy with large parties, but our waiter was attentive and kept the bottomless margaritas and mimosas coming.
Our waiter was the best !
The service was horrible, the waitress was not attentant to us. She forgot meals and everything took so long . I would not come to this place ever again.
Great very fun atmosphere !!
Very good food, cool place 10/10
Took forever to get our food and it was not really good. And it took 25 minutes to pay. Very poor service and a C- on the overall food. Ambiance is nice.
I have also been a fan of Dos Caminos but my last visit lacked luster.
One of our party got sick from the fish. My chicken enchiladas were terrible. The table was not properly cleaned.
This restaurant seems to have really gone down.
It used to be much better.
Came back after a great meal a few weeks ago. Made reservations for a busy Sunday afternoon and were meeting friends who were coming from uptown; Sarah, our server, was so gracious. She was very accommodating and never rushed us. Food was delicious!
Service was quite poor
Great place to grab some Mexican food! Loved the location and our server was awesome!
food was really not good . we took tacos which should be their expertise but the taste of the neat was really unpleasant.
Reliable place to have brunch. Their Prickly Pear Frozen Margaritas can't be beat. Good deal for full brunch with one drink plus coffee. Sometimes too loud, but not bad the Saturday we went. Had a reservation and were seated immediately.
Service was exceptional! Attentive and out going! We went during restaurant week so our menu was limited. I got a pork slider that was a little over cooked but the guac was amazing and were our prickly pear mules!
Came here for brunch and it was packed. Food was great and the brunch specials were amazing. My friends and I had a lot of fun here, definitely come here
This is my 4th visit to Dos Caminos Meatpacking and have to say if it had been my first I would not return. We were seated right at the top of the stairs. Service was slow and very impersonal and most of the time we felt forgotten about.
Service wasn't the best an because of this I was mostly irritated the entire time I was there. Food orders came out in bits in pieces, example: chips came out but had to wait 30 mins for the guacamole. I wanted my salad to come out first but instead the entree did. Lastly the staff wasn't very attentive. Definitely prefer the Dos Caminos that are further up in Manhattan. Never had these problems at other locations.
Great find! Food was good and so were the portions. Service was good in the sense that we weren't rushed on a Friday night but we could have gotten out a little earlier instead of rushing for our train. Very nice staff, I should have told our waiter what time our train was. Will go back for sure!
The smoked bacon guacamole was too sweet for my taste. The salmon that I ordered was made to perfection.
Restaurant was fairly empty - brought out the wrong meals and they brought the check without mentioning that we didn’t get our desserts (we ordered off the restaurant week menu).
Incredibly disappointed. We went for the 2 vegan cheeses clearly listed on the menu as an option for the vegetable taco. 2/4 guests ordered the vegan taco- but no one told us they were out of the cheeses until the orders came and we had to ask. The vegan naked taco was insanely small and disappointing for $17 ( I would have ordered a much larger salad for a similar price had I been informed they didn't have the cheeses) and they brought a non vegan rice/beans for the "table" for the other vegan taco order- we had to point out that she needed a vegan beans/rice option which was apparently a brand new idea. It took at least 20 minutes to be greeted (in a small setting) by the server, and she was always hard to find and took a very long time to ever make it around to our table (that was full of young ladies drinking). When I ordered a flight- she just dropped off the alcohol- no salt/limes to go with the shots which are clearly listed on the menu and a requirement for tequila shots- had to ask the manager for this. The guac was SO plain, I've been to many great Mexican places that make the guac in front of you- this was fresh but lacked any flavor or ingredients at all but was the most expensive 1 avocado guac I've ever gotten. Really disappointing experience. Even though the manager came over to apologize, nothing was comped - we were out a lot of money for a little bit of food that all left us hanging. Would not go back.
Stumbled upon this gem. Very nice atmosphere and checked out the spot to find out that there's a club in the lower level...if you dine, it's free and it was jumping/pumping!! Wanna come back to experience this as a group for maybe a birthday celebration.
