Don't Tell Mama NYC Ratings and Reviews
We have had dinner here before. Food is good. My daughter had shrimp scampi and was not impressed. Shrimp was dry. Other dishes our family had were steak,a 3 seafood combo and braised short ribs. All were tasty. Portions were fair.
Had the garlic bread , yet again, because reviews seem to praise it. Sorry not a fan!
A really surprising find on restaurant row in the theater district. A rainy Tuesday night, early curtain, and great food, great service. We had the prix fixe menu and the salmon was outstandingly fresh. There was nothing I would have changed in this dining experience.
I hadn't visited Don't Tell Mama in 20 years -- specifically the piano bar and the entertainment in there. Decided to have dinner first, which was very good. Then made our way into the piano bar for the 9pm entertainment -- which was phenomenal. This is such a fun, fun place!! I'll be back again soon.
Good menu though a little pricey. Excellent service from Christopher Anthony Henry. Very entertaining and honest. Food just as good as he promised.
However the restaurant was a walk through/ green room for the cabaret performers in the cabaret show. The back door continually opened and was left open. It was like sitting in a railway station not a good ambiance for a restaurant. Meal too expensive for this atmosphere. No real privacy. Great shame.
The food menu is a lot of seafood, so if that's not your thing it's probably not a great choice. I ended up getting a pizza, which was very good. It's a cute place, and the music from the attached piano bar is pleasant for the most part. It has a nice quiet vibe so it's good for a date night if you want to talk and be able to hear each other. The service was great. Our server was very attentive and took great care of us.
What a terrific dinner! Before seeing a show at Don't Tell Mama cabaret, we had a wonderful dinner in the restaurant. We both ordered of the pre-fixe menu and enjoyed every bite. The salad was fresh and delicious. and the entrees were perfectly prepared (salmon & chicken). The pre-fixed is a GREAT value!
Recommended by a friend for our first visit to New York from the UK and we were not disappointed. We spent an hour in the piano bar before our meal and the atmosphere was great. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal in a quieter but friendly atmosphere. Good service and good value for money.
My lady and I met a friend for as cocktail after a show and before our dinner reservation! The young lady tending bar in the we bar area not the dining room, left a little to be desired in the we attitude department! My walady and I were a bit puzzled by her over all demeanor! Other than that our complete experience with dinner was just fine and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend!
