Very nice people here! I came in from the bus terminal with a suitcase, and my server was so lovely! He made me feel very comfortable there, despite the fact that I was eating alone. I had a terrific glass of Australian Shiraz that was amazing! It’s not inexpensive, but I really enjoyed the food. I thought it was reasonable for the money I paid. I will definitely go back there, when I can also enjoy the piano music!!
Lovely restaurant for a date night!
Loved this restaurant. Everything was amazing. Staff were hard working and very accommodating and friendly. Good was delicious. Will definitely be back!!
We went there for our 25th anniversary prior to going to a show. The restaurant is quaint, small but a lot of character. The food was great - I ordered lobster ravioli and my wife had the chicken with chorizo. Both were excellent. There was one mix-up with our salads but was quickly corrected. Joshua, our waiter, was very attentive, cordial and professional. On our next trip to NYC, we will go back to Don't Tell Mama.
Went with a friend for prix fixe dinner on Saturday night before Cabaret evening.
From salad to dessert the meal was delivered perfectly and delicious.
Highly recommend snd make reservations fills up quickly.
Will go again.
Very nice place, good food, good value, great service. Shrimp Scampi could use more garlic. But will recommend and probably go back again.
We were there early on a Thursday evening, not crowded. Bartender friendly basic. Didn't get a chance to go into cabaret area to hear singers - maybe next time?
Small and cozy with a cocktail piano bar, this bistro serves good Italian food. We went for pre-theater since the restaurant was one block from our theater. They gave us plenty of time and did not rush us, esp. because we had almost an hour to kill before curtain. Very nice for the reasonable prices. Will go there again.
Food was good, service was a little slow as they did not have enough staff for the amount of guests but we are on holidays so there was no rush!!!!
My husband, daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the food and service at Don’t Tell Mama. My husband loved the short ribs and my lobster ravioli was delicious. Could have used more sauce though. The lemon meringue pie is a must!! We will definitely go again next time we visit NYC.
Enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Should have more seasonal offerings, though.
Great meal in the restaurant , fantastic service ! The piano bar sound system a little hard in the ears at times . Pianist while talented is a little self absorbed at times !
Overall an enjoyable experience !
First time eating here though have been to the cabaret room many times. Food was delicious, service great and we had plenty of time to get next door to a show. Will be back.
Well what a place!
My husband and I booked the restaurant in Don’t Tell Mama for our last night in New York. Our waiter Ryan was a lovely polite young man who made sure we had everything we needed. They have a fixed price 3 course menu or an a la carte menu, we had three corses from the a la carte menu which was delicious. We then asked Ryan about the piano bar next door also part of DTM and he said if we wanted to go after our meal he would make sure they had a table for us. He was true to his word and a table was waiting for us. We ordered some cocktails and relaxed after our meal. It was already busy when we got in and a young man was playing the piano and singing and then the other staff, the bar tenders and waiting staff took it in turns to sing and what a talented bunch they are, all of them are good enough for a Broadway in our opinion. They pass s bowl around for tips every now and then, stick a few dollars in they’re well worth it. By the time we left about 1.30am the place was still buzzing. We had a fantastic last night, One we’ll never forget and made some new friends into the bargain.
If you want good food and great entertainment give DTM a try you won’t regret it.
Top tip... Book an early dinner to get a seat in the piano bar, later on people queue outside to get s table.
I was really disappointed - two of us ordered Halibut and both were way overcooked and dry. Chicken was also overcooked. Our server, Isabella was lovely.
A friend recommended this restaurant to me and I was not disappointed. We were seated right away even though we were early for our reservation. We had just saw Wicked and this was our post-theater dinner. They had a pre-fixe menu but there were not many good choices so we ordered off of the regular menu. I order a Chicken dish that was really good, and my fiance ordered wild mushroom ravioli because she loves mushrooms, she said they were delicious. The only disappointing part of the meal was the bland salad, they were way too small especially when they charge $7 apiece for them. We shared a piece of cheesecake for dessert which was really good. Our server was really sweet and very attentive.
Always a good time. The staff is friendly and the food is excellent.
Wonderful meal at an outdoor table. Attentive staff. Entrees of shrimp scampi and sea bass were excellent. Crime brûlée was perfect
Great place!!! Our server was terrific!!!! Definitely will visit there again!!!
As well as serving great food, the bartenders and wait staff are all actors/singers and very cheery. They also get to sing later in the DTM piano bar.
We had so much fun, the food was great, the entertainment was awesome, we totally enjoyed our night
We really enjoyed the atmosphere here at the restaurant and then afterwards in the piano bar where the live entertainment was great fun. We were delighted with the birthday tribute for my sister too. Thank you for helping to make our first trip to New York so memorable! Hopefully we’ll return some time in the future but in the meantime we’ll be telling all our friends who plan a trip to NYC that a visit to you is essential 😊
Price fixe is a great deal glazed chicken was scrumptious as was the lemon meringue pie. Great easy location to the theatres.
Good food. Friendly service. Not too noisy. Fun neighborhood.
The food was excellent. Though it didn’t bother us it was a pity we were the only customers as the atmosphere was quite and strange
Intimate small tables well trained waiters
Always a wonderful time at here. The GM Manuel and the server/bartender Brian are just the best. Very attentive, thoughtful and on top of their game. The salmon was delicious, as was the new spring rolls on the menu. You’re never disappointed at Don’t Tell Mama.
The food was great and for nyc it was a particularly great value. I had the 35 prefix dinner of salmon and it was very good. Our waiter Ryan was particularly delightful and such a pleasant server. We loved it and would go back in a second!! Thank you!!!
Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. The girls loved their drinks and the food was hot and fresh. We'll go again.
Excellent food and service. Will definitely be back!
I cannot remember the name of young man who helped us but he was very attentive. Kept checking to make sure we were doing well. The Krispy salmon was great could have been better with more vegetables. It was perfectly cooked. The drinks were good but two expensive. Nice small cozy place. Clean bathroom which is a big thing with me. The name was unusual but it was explained to us just what it means. carabet. Overall a very enjoyable evening. Will try the happy hour bar on the other side
awesome night. staff and piano guy were fantastic. highlight of my time in new york x
Before the theater, we got to Don't Tell Mama early. They held our reservation for us while we sat next door and enjoyed the piano bar. Our table was squished next to the door for the restroom, which was a little obnoxious. Ryan, our waiter, was awesome - friendly and helpful. The food was great.
The food was so yummy and our server made the experience very enjoyable. I had the Seafood Trio with the white wine sauce. It was so fresh and delicious. I also had Creme Brûlée for dessert.
From the start the service was outstanding. Our waiter Ryan set the tone and his fun personality and willingness to make our experience amazing stood out and made our daughters 28th birthday so memorable. Food was great, I had Mamas Martini which I loved and it was a pre theatre dinner we will not soon forget. Thanks !!!
You can’t beat the location for pre-theater dining! The staff was very attentive and accommodating. The restaurant was unremarkable for decor. It was very quiet, but it was also very early. I might go back basically because of the location. My entree was good but not outstanding. The biggest disappointment was the size of my dining companion’s entree salad relative to the price. That’s why I gave the food 3 stars and not 4.
The food and service were excellent! We did think the good value we got for the entree was undone by the price of drinks and desserts.
After the show it is very quiet and I crowded in the restaurant. If you dine and want to go next door you go to the front of the line if there is one. Definitely not gourmet but ok after a show.
Very good all around, service and food I would highly recommend.
Excellent meal with great service. In and out in plenty of time for a theatre show. Provided a special menu with appetizer and dessert.
