Was expecting more from the food and it did not live up to expectations.

Overall the meal was a great experience - service was excellent - the staff was very attentive and quick with all requests. The meat was high quality and very fresh. Only thing was the cost - a little high but not entirely unreasonable .

For reliable, excellent service and quality of food, highly recommend! We were late for reservation, but they seated us immediately - so grateful for that on a Saturday night during busiest dining time! Impressed with professional service cooking BBQ tableside. They adjusted the noiseless exhaust vent up & down so we did not leave smelling like BBQ. Servers were responsive to our requests. Considering busy, full restaurant, very impressed with teamwork that ensured our food was cooked perfectly. Delicious, high quality meats & fresh seafood. We ordered the 5 meat platter, seafood platter, 2 bulgogi, and seafood pancake. Bulgogi presentation was not what we expected, but tasted delicious. The 5 of us left stuffed. Just what we wanted: a perfect meal and considerate service to celebrate a special occasion. For that the premium price was worth it.

This was my second time at Don's. It was great the first time and great again. The meat is delicious. The staff cooks it perfectly. I've gone once for a business dinner, and this second time was with my family. It was excellent both tims.

It’s always a delight to go to Dons Bogam, even after their renovation. Their barbecue experience is top-notch and the food is always fresh. The skirt steak during this experience was melt-in-your-mouth delightful. All of their barbecue options are fantastic, but especially try the pork belly. All around a great vibe and wonderful service. They are also accommodating for food allergies. My wife has gluten, soy, and rice allergies and is always well accommodated.

This place is great for friends' get together, or and with families, I went with my kids (6 and 7 years old) and they were of course, loud, and the staff were so great with them and kids ended up having a great time bc it's such a relaxing environment. At night, it's a bit expensive but the quality of meat you get is really excellent so you just pay for what you get, in a good way!! LOVE this place.

One of the better KBBQ places in Koreatown! If you arrive early, you can grab a drink at the bar with the awesome bartender! I would definitely return - delicious food and attentive waiters, what more can you ask for?

Excellent experience of bbq in Korea Town. Waiters were very helpful in selecting our courses, and we arrived early and had the staff point out we were able to enjoy happy hour prices on our cocktails so able to keep the price reasonable.

My absolute favorite Korean BBQ restaurant in the tri-state from service to meat quality and flavors.

For starters, the food is very authentic. I have been to Seoul and this place compares very favorably to the Korean BBQ there. Everything is fresh, the restaurant is clean, ample seating and the service is outstanding. I highly recommend the spicy beef and the fried shrimp dumplings.

Great food however it can be a bit warm inside although I guess that is to be expected with a grill a foot away from you

Simply put, the food, especially the complex sauces, will amaze you, the service will pamper you and the prices will shock you. Bring a friend with a big appetite that has an even bigger wallet.

Great spot. Newly renovated, very friendly staff. I came on Sunday around 5pm to celebrate my birthday and some of my party was late so the hostesses held my reservation for almost two hours while I waited for my full party to arrive. There is a section of the restaurant with normal seating (no grill in the table) and booths with grills and seats basically implanted in the floor. It was awkward to get into the seats so I wouldn't recommend wearing short skirts/cocktail dresses. We seated around 7:30ish and ordered fried shrimp dumplings and a bottle of Reisling to start. Our server was very friendly, and when he was busy we were able to ask any server in the restaurant which was really nice. Once we'd finished the dumplings we ordered short ribs and shrimp in special sauce. The ribs came out first with no marinade and were delicious. Our server recommended dipping them in this red-ish sauce and wrapping it in lettuce which was so good. Then a series of mushrooms came out, which we thought came with our meal. After about 15 minuets of waiting for shrimp we asked another server were it was and he told us only beef and mushrooms had been ordered, so we ordered the shrimp and tried to have the mushrooms removed from the bill but because we had eaten them, they wouldn't remove it. Overall the restaurant was posh, staff was extemely helpful and friendly, but I would recommend preparing i advance for the awkward seating, and knowing exactly what you want to eat so you don't end up with the wrong meal.

I took several business partners here last week and had a blast. I would highly recommend for a unique NYC experience. So much better and more authentic than the Benihana type places. Go here for any occasion.

DB has been our go-to spot for KBBQ in the area in recent years. It still comes through with higher than average quality meat and a setting both pleasant and high energy without the chaos and boisterousness common to the competition. That said, we were disappointed with the panchan (small side dishes that accompany the main meal), which were both meager and pedestrian. Further, the service quickly went downhill and for most of the meal was notably sloppy and indifferent. (As an example, we found ourselves darting from burner to burner to tend the meat while a server stood unoccupied a few feet away passively observing us in our frenzy.) All in all, we are sufficiently disappointed to realize it is time to move on and explore the ever-evolving competition. At this price point we would expect more from DB - better meals overall and much better service. Time to bring it up a notch guys. Sigh ... most regrettable!

Seating was delayed, food came out of order. Waiters were not very good with helping us cook our items (especially the scallops which would have been boiled and not grilled without our intervention). Portions were also quite small compared to the competition.

Overall, overrated. Not worth a second trip. Maybe they were better before the accolades, but it sure ain't good now.

We ordered one of he combos and the only thing that was good was the spicy marinated galbi. Everything else was ok but definitely not worth the price. There's better spots. The hostess's suck also as well as the waitress service.

Terrible service experience all around. We first thought our waiter was providing bad service and was arrogant. So we switched waiters and got the same bad service.

Waiters didn't bring things we requested, instead brought whatever was convenient for them.

When complaint was made to the hostess on the way out, her response indicated that she didn't care and bad service seemed to be part of this restaurant's culture.

Astonished at how much fun we had. Delicious food (very high quality ingredients). Service paid close attention. Will most definitely return. (Note: certainly not cheap; bill for our group of 7, with 3 bottles of chablis and 1 bottle of soju and tip, came to $700.) Will most definitely return. So much fun!

I was very disappointed with the curt service. Also, the bill was in Korean so we couldn't understand it. I think we probably ended up overpaying since the bill was so high.
