Really great Korean bbq spot in the city, wine bottle prices are good!
Great food and friendly service. Best Korean Barbecue!
I went there twice, it was so good! I am kind of crazy so I had the beef platter all to myself and I would have finished it all then and there if it wasn’t for my cousin who asked me to bring him some after I posted a story on my instagram!
Service was great but at some point I was annoyed as I was eating I requested a cocktail and was told that the bar closed down, why would you do that when your customers are still finishing up their dinner. The kitchen that I understand, and I was advised to order something else before they closed down. You could have said the same about the bar!
Overall I would recommend that place, I’d definitely go again, only this time I’ll make sure I can still order my drinks!
We really enjoyed the food and cocktails. Servers were very attentive.
The food was excellent, best glass noodles we’ve had in a long time.
Excellent wine list, though rather on the expensive side, I would have loved to see bottles at a lower price point.
Food was good
Limited beverage selections (lots of beverages were out of stock)
The server was not enthusiastic with a bit of attitude
Had a good time there. Service was prompt. We only had the beef platter and pork belly so I can’t speak for the other Korean dishes, but food was great. Drinks were good too. Would come back here
The beef was excellent but the pork belly was over cooked. Beautiful interior with rushed, stressed looking staff
This was the PERFECT place for a first date. They seated us quickly, and then let us chat and have the whole evening at our own pace. We were never rushed to order, eat, or pay. We easily spent about 2 hours at the table enjoying talking to each other and sharing great food. The whole experience was wonderful.
I come here all the time and love the food but service this time was disappointing. After getting our meal our server didn’t even check back once to see if we needed anything else. We asked for more water and it didn’t come. So not sure what is going on since we always have a great experience here but service was definitely disappointing.
Great food and great service
Food was delicious. All the meats were so well seasoned and expertly prepared. Looking forward to dining here again!
I did have a nice lunch here previous to this dinner experience. I found the service to be cold, and uninterested. I didn’t think the grill was hot enough to sear the kalbi, and no one cared to ask if we wanted more banchan. The waitress was really beyond telling us there was no cocktails tonight and no dessert. I had seen two Dons Spicy signature cocktails being served as I waited for a table. I wish I could have enjoyed this experience but truly it was lacking care.
Great food and service-Will definitely come back again
Always good. A place that keeps serving great food.
MR. Hong is a wonderful manager and host. Great kalbi and delicious jigae.
Returning after a couple of years, I forgot I reviewed this in the past - the restaurant name is unique and my brother and I dined outside where they have these booths (fully enclosed, with a door) for 2 or 4 people.
They are now serving American Wagyu (Kobe beef crossed with Black Angus). I'm guessing these are from Snake River Farms. Very pricey of course, about $125+ per person.
We had the 5 Variety Prime Beef platter for two (short ribs, ribeye, skirt steak, and marinated ribs). It is precooked as we didn't have a grill on the table - maybe inside next time. The meat is top quality, all varieties were good, and even though some pieces got a bit cold, the BBQ is still soft and savory.
Ban Chan is basic, just adequate. Portions are correct, (at least for me) Service is excellent and friendly. A cut above most of the BBQ places in K-Town.
Food was good. The meat was tender and well prepared.
It was horrible . I hadn’t seen an old friend in 20 years . We came to spend a lot of money on drinks and food and have a leisurely dinner …. First they told me the bar was closed so I couldn’t get vodka only expensive bottles of wine . Then a man walked in and they served him vodka !!! So I asked for a vodka again and the waiter said “ ok , fine “ it took 20 mins and he shoved it at me . Then they spent the whole dinner telling us they were closing soon and please hurry up and eat . I finally pulled the waiter aside and said , “ look this is a very special dinner and we are not rushing to eat or leave . We booked on a Sunday , a slow night unpurpose . We spent a fortune on wine and food and the food was just terrible :( the beef was disgusting as were the fried dumplings ( how do you mess up a fried dumpling ??) and the scallion pancake was burnt . I’ll never go back . But it sure was wonderful to see my friend !!! We had years to catch up on and just to see her face was enough .
My boyfriend and I got a last minute table here to celebrate with anniversary. Excellent spontaneous choice— the food and drinks were fantastic, the table bbq was excellent, the vibe was fun. Though pricey, highly recommend.
The food was excellent! But the service wasn't great. She already seemed a bit upset, burned meat, and put it outside of the grill before we finish it. I had to eat a cold dinner. Other than that, I had a good experience.
We enjoyed the experience very much, though we weren' told there was a bell to request service in the outdoor rooms and my friend who is very allergic to gluten, was told some items were gluten free. She did experience discomfort but the food was good.
Food were delicious. Just a bit pricey however it was worth it. Outstanding service. Highly recommended and will definitely go back again.
Great environment, wonderful food — highly recommended.
Amazing outdoor dining! We got our own private "cubicle" with windows and a fan, making it bearable even on a hot day. We both got tofu stews (one seafood and one veggie) as well as soju, and all was amazing.
food was good but sorry to tell you but it was very poor services. I asked more side but never came out. I asked 2 server but no one bring out so little disappointed
Love the atmosphere. Food was great. Little crowded, but very friendly. Excellent service.
delicious food and excellent service! Would highly, highly recommend for virtually any occasion
The service was horrible. Upon arriving to the restaurant waited about 10/15 mins in at the host stand before being greeted. Waited about the same time before the sever took our order. Requested additional kimchi which never came. Disappointing as I was looking forward to a great meal.
Food was great, but overall service needs to be improved. For some reason, I didn’t feel that welcomed from servers. One person was nicer than the others but the rest of them seemed frustrated to work there and of course had zero smily face. You don’t have to be super nice because everyone has their own issues, but at least working as facing ppl directly which requires good customer service for restaurant’s own reputation as well, I believe you need to work on providing better service, more specifically, basic mind set for working in restaurant business. Otherwise, it’s never gonna keep up with fantastic quality of foods that you already have. Ppl wanna dine in welcoming, happy place.
Also, I was surprised that they never cut the pork belly into the pieces so that it can be the size for eating bites. I had to ask them pls bring the scissor so I could cut it by myself. Eventually one server who seemed responsible to cook beefs cut our pork belly but I’ve honestly never seen the restaurant who just leave the huge chunks and don’t even care later on even though there’re plenty of possibilities that customers can choke themselves by eating that piece without any single cut.
Great experience with a group of 7 on a Monday night in one of the restaurant’s outdoor huts. *Much* quieter than the other spots along 32nd Street so we could actually talk without shouting. Good service, though not totally clear on mask protocols when the server was there (our group was fully vaccinated and usually put our masks on when the server came to the table but there were no rules stated at the beginning). Food was very good.
Always an awesome choice to dine here!
Would definitely go back!
Never had a bad meal here. The dishes were served promptly and every dish was nicely seasoned and spiced.
Great food great service
Excellent service and food.
Outside seating in a dogbooth. No energy, complete isolation. Could of just ordered it to the apartment and at infront of TV. Outside seating - should be marked as isolated or a picture should be provided.
Amazing food, service is great, nice atmosphere, pleasant crowd .the seating is uncomfortable.
The food here is always deliciousness! Top that off with a spectacular wine list and it was exactly what we needed for our first dinner out with friends post lockdown.
We ordered the marinated beef platter for two, bulgogi, mushrooms and chicken. Everything was tender and expertly prepared. We stuffed ourselves and ate everything! Cannot wait to return.
Amazing in every way!!!
Not very experienced with Korean BBQ so may not be an expert but I enjoyed the food here very much. Waiter explained what everything is, made recommendations and was very helpful .Loved everything we ordered
