Best dining experience we’ve had in the Bay Area. Amazing food, great wine list, and impeccable service. Simply perfect.

The menu is pricey but for special occasions the ambience, service, and food are worth it. We were seven for a birthday dinner. There are at least two round tables which makes for a much more pleasant dining experience then a long rectangular one. The service is impeccable. A very enjoyable evening.

Our plans changed from Sunday to Saturday night, and the restaurant was very accommodating. We love this place....just fantastic, old school fine dining....attentive service, polished presentation, very good wine list and truthfully a good price point for this type of dining experience. This is not your typical "slam dine" for $ 30/person outing...but if you are looking for a refined, quality dining experience, a touch of romance and great people watching, you should definitely check this out.

This was my first time at donatello and last. I was very excited to come here because I thought it was upscale amazing service restaurant
We had reservations at 830. It was very busy every body seemed overwhelmed and the host ask to sit at a bar while he get table ready we waited fir half hour and it look like they forgot us. I waived at the host and he apologize and try to find us a table . He gave us a table that was not set and we had to wait another 25 min. To have it set
Finally after an hour a waiter came to get out order . I was so upset I told my friend let’s leave . I’m so sorry it was her bday. She said we waited this longlet’s order something quick and then leave
The host came to our table and offer me a free drink . I could of complained and did not I was so disappointed and embarrassed because I invited my friend for her special day. I will never go there again
Horrible service

Greeted well by Gino. Food came out steaming but it was only the surface since much of the food was just warm. Happy for their large clientele but it was just too loud.

It was a very special birthday for my wife, which I noted on her Open Table reservation, but it was never recognized although others were.

Lots of food but very pricey. The rose upon leaving was a nice touch.

In our mind, just an average Italian restaurant that was "nice to have seen but would not go back".

Food was unimpressive and forgettable. When paying $40/plate, I expect the food to leave a lasting impression.

Made dinner reservations for Valentines Day. Overall the food was good but over priced, the service was good initially but was non existent towards the end, would never go for Valentines Day dinner again bc we felt herded like cattle to the table which was in a back room crammed to capacity with a hundred other tables and did not make for an intimate setting, and I’m sure it violated some fire code ordinance with max occupancy. Our service in the beginning was good, apps and food came out very quick but once meal was done we had no one come by our table for a good 15 min, it wasn’t until I flagged a waiter down did they try to offer us dessert. The tables were about 10 inches apart and so close that it was very hard to have a conversation and worse of all they sat this very obnoxious drunk of a mess woman next to us mid way through our dinner, she was so loud and every other word out of her trashy mouth was a curse word, I would have rather been water boarded for an hour then set on fire than sit and hear this loud mouth for one more minute, needless to say it really killed the vibe. I had more intimate settings at chilis than this place, for the amount you spend it’s not worth it. There are far better restaurants in the area, with just as good or better food and service that give you a better intimate experience than this place. I would not go back and likely not recommend this place to friends or family. I had high expectations bc of past positive reviews but ended up being a huge disappointment. I suspect bc of the onset of new restaurants opening up in the area that they lost some essential staff, cooks and waiters, which has contributed to their downward trend in overall food, service and experience.

Great dining experience. The service is exceptional as is the food. It can be a bit noisey but I’d call it more of a vibrant environment that a distracting one. Highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion.

Very nice place. We went for a date night/night before Valentine’s Day dinner.
Food was very good but not excellent especially for the price. Very pricey. Bread on the table was just bread on the table and cold butter
A side lettuce salad $10.50!!!! Really.
Shrimp cocktail $29. But was awesome

Service was very good but they very serious not real friendly.

Dinner With wine and tip our bill was over $300

The food and service was good but it was way, way, way overpriced. I don,t mind paying top dollar for a good dining experience, but this was not worth what they charged.

It was a birthday party and a party of 10, service is impeccable, we all had something different and everyone was very happy with their choice. The food comes to the table very hot and fresh. The wine selection is great from moderately priced to extremely expensive and everywhere in between. $45 to $1,395.per bottle. We chose our wine by region and bordered on the moderately expensive. $140 per bottle. I left it up to the waiter within a price range. It was very good and paired well with our meal.
We have been there many times and is our favorite when in Tampa.
