Don Vito's Italian - South Point Casino Ratings and Reviews
We have been to Dom Vito's before and we enjoyed every aspect of our experience. The food is wonderful and the presentation was fantastic. This visit was for recognizing my wife and I 58th Valentine's Day together.
Suggestions to make it extraordinary- Have a rose for the significant other. Have bus people ask if you need more to drink. It shouldn't take over 20 minutes to get a check.
Grilled shrimp overdone, no flavor. Chilean sea bass was “swimming in oil”, absolutely bland in flavor.
We’ve been coming here for ten years, absolutely worst meal we’ve had there. Big dissapointment, especially for prices charged. Don’t know what problem is, do you have a new chef????? This is not the Don Vito’s of the past ten years. We probably won’t be returning unless we hear things have changed for the better.
The wine served to my wife was not the reseiling ordered, when questioned we were told it was what we ordered. As a result it was left virtually untouched.
THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT WAITRESS WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND ACCOMADATING. THE FOOD WAS VERY GOOD. MY BIGGEST PROBLEM WAS THAT I ORDERED THE SEAFOOD DIAVOLO AND IT WAS VERY GOOD BUT, THEY DIDNT SERVE ANY ITALIAN BREAD AND I WAS UNABLE TO DUNK MY BREAD IN THE SAUCE THAT CAME WITH MY ORDER. I PAID $45 FOR THE ENTREE AND WAS UNABLE TO FULLY ENJOY IT. I AM ITALIAN AND HAVE EATEN IN MANY ITALIAN RESTAURANTS AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN TOLD THAT DIDNT SERVE ITALIAN BREAD. THAT REALLY PUT A DAMPER ON MY MEAL. SORRY SOUTHPOINT YOU BLEW THIS ONE. I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK TO EAT THERE AGAIN.
I love South Point and I have wanted to try Don Vito's for some time. I was impressed with the décor and the menu was expansive. I am happy to pay fine dining prices but I was disappointed with the end product. My Veal was way too tough and the sauce was almost like a hollandaise with capers. Also pencil asparagus would have been more appropriate instead of the thick kind you would find at the buffet. The saving grace was the Banana Foster Crème Brulee which was the perfect portion. Overall nice restaurant, but the prices are steep.
Absolutely amazing in all respects.
Highest quality food ever prepared by highly skilled chefs.
The wait help was startlingly efficient and knew every item on the extensive menu as if they had prepared it themselves! We have never been so impressed with a restaurant! Even the bread basket with its accompanying tomato relish was amazing! Lots of wines to choose from, and again knowledgeable servers! This is a MUST for dining to satisfy everyone’s tastes ! This will now be our new go to restaurant for highest quality everything!
It was my husbands birthday and in addition to the cappacino cheesecake (exquisite) he was served a decadent chocolate cake with the words “happy b-day” carefully written across the plate in red raspberry sauce ! (See photo)
Service by jose was horrible. Wish we went to bootlegger. Gnoochi was laughable almost resembled a sponge cake. Food is better at bootlegger as well as service. Ambience wasn't there either. Could hear servers and bussers chat and complain about their lives.
I ordered the Veal Parm. Tasted like shoe leather, and burnt. Some man came by and asked me how it was, told him. Re ordered Chicken Parm., better at least it was hot. The Egg Plant my date orders tasted like baby food, all mush...No body came back and asked us if it was better.
The restaurant is ok, expensive for what you get. The only reason it was selected, was due to the location of the property, and the lack of choices in the general area. The amount of seafood received in the entrée was paltry, and not as fresh as it should have been for the money charged.
I have dined at this restaurant twice. First time was a weeknight around 5:30 PM, party of two after a movie. Second time on a Saturday night, 7 PM, party of six. The first time was an excellent experience – good service, quiet. The second time, service was a little slow and the noise level much higher. But, on both occasions the food was excellent. Quantities are large, so you can split a meal with a friend. Overall, I give this restaurant about 3.5 stars.
This was our second time at Don Vito's, the first being years ago. It was extremely nice to see that the service and quality has remained the same throughout the years. Great Italian food that will leave you really satisfied. The staff were all extremely friendly and professional.
A very nice New Years Eve dinner. Everything ordered was very good, except for the angel hair pasta was mushy with a little too much marinara sauce. Other entre's ordered was Lamb Chops and Surf and Turf, Both very good. Michelle, our server, was excellent. Loved the ambiance here.
Always eat at Don Vito’s when in Las Vegas whether we are staying at South Pointe or not. Excellent Italian food options especially the Eggplant Parmesan and any of the chicken entrees. Tried the ravioli’s in vodka sauce and must say I’d go back to have them again. A real Italian food find!!
This was the second time my husband and I have dined at Don Vito’s. Italian Restaurant. This time was not a good experience. We dined on Dec. 11, 2017. The positive things about the evening included the delicious bread and salads. I had the champagne balsamic dressing which was wonderful and my friend had the blue cheese dressing which she liked too. My husband had the shrimp, and scallops seafood dish which he liked. My friend’s fiancé had the prim rib which he gave a taste to me and it was a little dry. Another negative thing we noted was that because the rodeo was in town the restaurant only had 5 Italian dishes on the menu. My friend and I decided to split the bone-in rib eye which we ordered medium rare. It was was medium rare but it was too tough to eat so we both sent it back. They did take off the rib eye on the bill and the waiter did apologize for the meat. I do not think I will go back.
I would not recommend this restaurant. The server was very nice and we enjoyed her service but the food arrived cold. We were a party of 4 and we all ordered something different, but all the food was cold. Three of us just went ahead and ate it that way because we were going to the show. The other person had his sent back and reheated. I also felt the food was way overpriced. We will not return.
Took a friend for dinner who was visiting from out of town. We had a amazing, wonderful dinner.. We had the Chilean Sea Bass, not only was it a huge portion, it melted in your mouth. The wine of the month for $20 a bottle was fantastic as well. The waiter and helpers were amazing... we sat for 3 hours, drinking our wine, and munching down on some great food... Thank you to the staff at Don Vito's for a wonderful evening!
