Tacos were good, I liked the different choices. I was not a fan of their salsa, it was kind of bland.
This was the first time that I dined here and loved it. I had the burrito and could not finish it. It was really delicious! I also liked the street corn....was the first time I ever ate it and enjoyed it. The atmosphere was nice - not too loud. The service was great, our waiter always had a smile on his face (Walter) - I look forward to coming back!
This place is FUN and right in the heart of Old Towne. WE tried all kinds of tacos and they were each different and yummy! We also sampled 3 different kind of margaritas and they were DELICIOUS!!! Jalapeno, peach, and strawberry infused. NOT sweet - really tasty! I can't wait to go back. It's not fancy so you can relax and enjoy the experience. Service was excellent.
The “El Gringo” taco was very good and the frozen margaritas delicious!
One of my favorite restaurants in Old Town! Delicious food and balanced cocktails. Service is always friendly and prices are reasonable.
The food was pretty bad. Service was not good at all. My husband and I got bumped over five times because we were seated in the aisle. Drinks were okay but this is Old Town Alexandria. Need to step it up Don Taco. Totally not impressed. We will not eat there again.
Fun night with the girls. We celebrated National Margarita Day. Waiter wss great!
It took two trips, making reservations helped get us in. Great service, and for vegans you have a few options.
The service was terrible. Our server did not refill our waters once, did not check on us once after our food wAs dropped, didn’t even apologize for not putting in one member of our parties food
It was Valentine’s Day so I brought my fiancé there for a solid taco meal and the ambiance. We were one of the first couples to be sat upstairs and were sat next to a group table that was empty. Little did we know that the group that was coming in would be hovering over our table shouting back and forth at each other. Given the tight seating - this ruined the ambiance and we ended up leaving earlier than we planned.
I went here with my gal pals for my birthday. I had a discount, which was great. Also enjoyed the $5 margaritas (yum), a shroom taco, a mahi taco, and the empanadas (beef/chicken). All delish. Had good ice cream with a candle for dessert. Everyone had a good time. I love the table upstairs by the window :) We even got to watch the olympics too! Friends all seemed to enjoy their meals too.
My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time. We loved the vibes, the food was delicious, and the service was top-notch. Thanks for the incredible dinning experience!
Tacos are delicious- the guacamole is incredible. In would just say the drinks need a little more kick
Tacos were amazing! Flank steak and pomegranate??? Who knew?
The service here is always quick and friendly. The food delivery is fast and every bite is enjoyable!
Everything was great. The brunch menu is awesome. Our server was fantastic.
Love this place
Love the food and the service was wonderful! We will be going back for some more tacos! :)
We came all the way from Reston for the Fried Avocado taco and it did not disappoint. It was delicious. The tequila drinks were awesome too. My mahi taco was not that interesting and very fishy tasting, but the Avo taco was the best and worth the drive! The guac was also great. Loads of seating with the upstairs.
Had a great time. The food and atmosphere were awesome. I really enjoyed the Jalapeño Margarita!
Such a great little spot with so many delicious taco options + lots more. And the margaritas and tequila flights - outstanding!
Small tacos are ordered a la carte, like sushi. Some flavor combos were great, some so-so. Very good guacamole. Cute place but EXTREMELY loud, both upstairs and downstairs.
Tried this place out for a friend's birthday and I wish I lived closer to eat there more often! Such good food and service. My favorite is the queso (to die for!) and the flounder fish tacos! Also, best margarita I've ever had! Will definitely be coming back next time I'm in town!
Had a fun evening. Waiter, Gary, was fun and did a great job explaining the menu and was very attentive. Loved the food and drinks!
It was so noisy in the dining room (and at the entrance to the bathroom and kitchen, which was next to our table) we could barely hear ourselves talk. We never saw our original waiter after he came by for our drink order, and had a hard time flagging one down to ask questions about the menu as they came in and out of the kitchen. Then they took away the brunch menu (telling us brunch was over). After mentioning that there was little if any alcohol in our frozen margaritas, a very nice manager came by to speak to us, and to explain the process.
The food was delicious, drinks were overpriced given their small size. Service was good, not great.
Food presentation excellent- the food even better!
Nice atmosphere.... great margaritas! Will definitely come back next time in Alexandria.
If you feel like going to a frat house, then this is the place for you. Staff is immature and food isn't that great. So many better options in old town... highlight of the evening was being treated poorly because we didn't get drinks. Again, I'm sorry I'm not in a frat and actually happened to be out with a recovering alcoholic, so no bartender, for the 5th time I don't think we need some shots...
We have been to Don Taco several times but this time was just horrible. The salsa they brought us was a thin liquid. No other way to describe it. We were told 'that's how how it is'. But having eaten there before we know it's now. 'Surf & Turf' taco was chuck roast and fried shrimp. Not steak as advertised. Overall everything was just bad!
The best taco place I have been to in a while. The battered Oreos were amazing. I definitely will be back.
Great Food...Great Service!!!
The tacos!! Fried avocado and the skirt steak were the best street style tacos i have had in the area. Guacamole was also solid. Gor for the tacps!
Finally a brunch place that is affordable in the DMV! Really nice spot for Happy Hour, brunch, you name it. This most recent visit, I met my friend for brunch and enjoyed the larger plates of breakfast options since usually they offer only small plates. The portions were perfect and the price was under $10! The best deal of all was the $2 Mimosas or the $4 Bloody Mary's- and they were good! No skimping on quality or alcohol here! The small guacamole app was tasty and large portion even though bit was a small- so another good deal- do think there need to be some more heat and salt added- but otherwise good. Everyone was friendly and accommodating but after awhile, out waitress trailed off and we waited awhile to track her down for our check- before that she was attentive enough. Only downfall is the booth seats!! The restaurant is not that old and already the material from the booth seats are severely cracked and uncomfortable! When you are wearing shorts or a skirt- the cracking of the seats will scratch and irritate your legs, plus it's just a horrible sight when you are coming in and led to sit down there. Hopefully, they are on their way to replacing soon! Still overall, nice experience and I'll still return - crappy seats and all!
The food and service were excellent! They offered good, thoughtful vegetarian options, which is especially commendable given their short menu. The space is fairly small (which is common in Old Town) and we had a large group, so the servers moved us upstairs, which was otherwise empty. I was very happy to have a quiet space for us to chat.
Always awesome and wonderful value!
All of the tacos we ordered were cold. The drink took 20 minutes to get to use because the bartender was too busy flirting with the guy at the bar.
Maya was our server and she was just amazing! So friendly and attentive! We loved the avocado tacos!
It was great. It was my mom's and my friend's mom's birthday and we got a discount on the desserts. The service was great and the food was too!
