Too bad D & C is closing next year :-(
Fantastic as usual
Been many times... it’s always amazing! My husbands favorite restaurant aside from Carson’s in Chicago!! :)
One of my favorite places in Scottsdale, especially during Spring Training.
The best restaurant for a steak by far. Best rib eye I ever had.
They made it difficult getting a reservation for a large party (8+) and even kore difficult getting separate bills.
Iconic restaurant which is a mist for spring training visits
This was our annual visit from Chicago to attend spring training and dine at Don and Charlies.
We were seated promptly and our server Leah W. was quick to take our order and make some great recommendations. Her personality, friendly attitude, and professionalism made us feel special. The bar-b-que ribs and chicken are the best. The sides are varied and large portion. great value for dinner. Reservations are necessary this time of year.
Unfortunately, the local papers have written that this might be the last year for this iconic restaurant as the property has been sold. Future plans are uncertainr
Stephanie was amazing such a joy and great service she made our night and experience we can’t wait to come back next year !!
Absolutely I outstanding service, from the very nice hostess to the servers it couldn't have been any better and the food is excellent as well ,
there's not many restaurants in America that have better sports memorabilia (if any )than Don and Charlie's it's incredible, a must stop for anyone in the Phoenix area that loves sports and a memorable meal!
I visit Scottsdale once or twice a year. I always make it a point to visit Don & Charlie's. The food is great and the atmosphere is amazing. The years of collecting sports memorabilia has paid off. I could spend days looking at all the things hanging everywhere. If you like baseball its the place to be. There are usually players and ex-players having dinner during spring training. Looking forward to my next visit. Thanks for the great experience, again.
Must visit Icon restaurant particularly during Spring Training!
Very loud although we requested quiet area when we made reservation. Don’t really think there is any quiet section in Don and Charlie’s. Too crowded...too noisy. Our waitress was attentive, however.
Spring Training trip
Have to go every Spring Training. Always get the same thing and it is always really good. Love this place!!
It was a great dinner, but the music was too loud! We go to Don and Charlie’s every time we are in Scottsdale.
One of our favorites when we visit Scottsdale.Sorry to hear it is closing in 2019.
Genevieve was outstanding!
We discovered Don & Charlie's by chance while visiting the area for Spring Training. We were blown away and hugely disappointed that we are just now discovering them, when they are slated to close in 14 months or so. We may schedule a special trip just to return. Yes it was that good, and the memorabilia was amazing. The place is like a sports museum. Food was exceptional with a decent wine list and great service. Everything was very reasonably priced for a higher end steakhouse. Better prices and comparable or better quality than Morton's, Capital Grill, Flemings or the other chop house chains.
One of our favorite places when we are in town!
Great food although a bit on the pricey side. It is full of sports memorabilia, most baseball. Definitely a stop on your baseball spring training trip.
Not the best food tonight. Great ambience, but the memorabilia and excited patrons handle that.
Reception was cold and uninviting.
Bar was attentive and a fun environment.
Great seats with a view of the whole general seating area. The food wasn’t great. The prime rib (big cut) was dry and over cooked to my specs. The trout was over cooked and although “encrusted” was under seasoned and totally under flavored.
The potatoes au gratin and dbl cooked were wonderful. We did finish strong with some desserts...second choices because firsts were sold out. Great though.
A manager made adjustments to the overall ticket Just a bad night for the chefs that I hope they’ll shake off and get back on regular track.
Don and Charlies is iconic. A sports museum with great food and a lively atmosphere makes it a go-to place.
Always wanted to eat here during annual baseball spring training visits to Scottsdale but never was able to get a reservation. Finally lucked out. Place is packed, not only with Lucky diners but also with baseball memorabilia. Fantastic service and the banana cream pie is scrumptious.
That was one of the best steaks I have ever had!! Our server was very engaged and funny. We had a great time!!
Our food was excellent and the service by Jeff was excellent as usual.
We ask for Jeff whenever possible.
Fabulous steakhouse with delicious food, great vibe and Top Notch staff. The sports and memorabilia displayed in this restaurant is unequaled in my experience.
We loved our server, Sheana, she was sweet and on top of it! It was nice to see the owner walk around and check on things, Don seemed like a great guy with great leadership!
very enjoyable dinning as usual. Very crowded and rushed during this time of year which is usual. As we dine there all year long we try to avoid this month if at all possible.
Awesome! Would definitely come back if in Scottsdale area!
My wife and I have dined here on a somewhat regular basis since 1983 when we moved to Phoenix. We would come here to celebrate family member birthdays. Last Monday, my wife and I dined alone and we each ordered a full slab of baby back ribs. It may have been an off night as my slab of ribs were quite tough. My wife's slab was more tender but she indicated that it was still not as tender as normal. Everything else was very good but I was somewhat disappointed with my ribs.
We really enjoy this restaurant, best prime rib I have ever had. On this visit we were disappointed that they had run out of Prime rib.
It is what it is. Iconic restaurant packed with baseball memorabilia. Meat lovers delight, albeit pricey.
Annual Spring training father/son outing.
My father was a liquor salesman for Continental in Chicago and this reminds me of Millers.
This was great as always!
Great food, great service!
Just a great experience! Lively, friendly and really great meat and potatoes meal! The sports memorabilia is over the top plan to arrive early.
Friends from out of town came in for spring training. This place is a must see museum for baseball fans and good food. Staff was friendly and accommodating . Servers were on top of our every need. Heard that D&C is closing down next year... Scottsdale will lose a landmark... hope somehow there will be a way to save this place... Go Cubs !!!
I had a reservation set and was running late due to my flight, obtaining a rental car, and the drive from the airport to the restaurant. I called from the road to inform them that I would be about 20 minutes late. I was curtly told that reservations are held for 15 minutes, no exceptions. I arrived exactly 23 minutes late. I explained my situation and was informed that there are no exceptions and I would need to wait for the "next available" seat (about 45 minutes). I went back on to Open Table and secured a reservation for 30 minutes later (not 45 minutes). This was a very strange service experience which is why I gave the service score that I did
However, once seated the steak was really good and worth the wait
My advice: you better be on time!
Legendary Scottsdale restaurant that is highly overrated
Very busy but many many open tables
I watched an open table in the bar area sit empty for over 30 minutes after I checked in and requested a table in the bar
I was finally seated at that empty table
Very friendly and attentive waitstaff
Food came out way overdone and not cooked to order
