We went to St Louis specifically to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and my had found Dominic's through an on-line search of area restaurants. Our meals were excellent, particularly my Veal Fontina - it was tender enough that I was able to easily cut it with my fork - superb!
Our server, Erma, also made our experience excellent. I don't know whether she's related to the owners family, but her sweet Italian accent and great personality made us feel like we were also part of her family. If you like Italian food, we'd definitely recommend Dominic's.
Went during Clayton restaurant week. The service, food, and atmosphere could not have been better.
We all enjoyed the different dishes that we ordered. The servers were excellent at explaining items on menu and the service was prompt. We especially like Dominic's Trattoria because it's quiet enough to have a conversation and relax around a table with friends and good food.
My girlfriends treated me to a birthday dinner. I had lobster ravioli and it was delicious! Our server , Jonathan, was darling and very knowledgeable about the menu. My only regret was that I accidentally left behind a vase with flowers that my friend brought for the occasion. When I called the next day, it could not be found. Otherwise, a flawless evening.
We went to Dominic's for my wife's birthday. The food was outstanding and the service was very good. There were a couple of large groups there that increased the noise level and slowed down the service. I would definitely go back though; it's one of the best Italian restaurants in St. Louis.
We always enjoy our meal at Dominic's but Erma (our server) made it extra special. The staff always goes above/beyond and the food never disappoints.
The food is always good and something for everyone...Mahi on offer Saturday was great, as was Capresi salad...
Dominic's has been one of our special places for 20 years. Food was always wonderful & service great. This visit was a major disappointment! Took at least 30-40 minutes for server to take order. Lobster ravioli used to be special. What I had could have come out of a box. Tortilonni was bland, we asked for butter for rolls, took 20 minutes &2 requests to get it.
Very nice atmosphere. I tried the waitress it was our first wedding anniversary and she gave us each complimentary sides of cake. Food was great and nice portion sizes. Little pricey but it's authentic.
Everything was prepared to perfection. The carpaccio was fantastic as well as the cannelloni. The service was very good along with the timing, preparation and presnetation of each course. I will definitely go back to Dominic's in Clayton.
We like everything about this place....the people, the food, the atmosphere. It's a changing scene, sometimes hopping with young people, sometimes filled with older adults. The people who take care of you are the best, ever polite and welcoming....and always helpful. Everything on the menu is delicious, whether salads, calamari, carpaccio, all kinds of pasta, anti pasta, eggplant, many veal dishes, many seafood options, steaks, chicken, and so much more. Desserts, including Jackie's cake, all delicious. Come and visit. Then come again and try something else. Dominic's Trattoria is a favorite place!
I made a reservation on Open Table and when we got there a table was waiting. We asked to eat in the bar area but it was already booked for the evening. The hostess made it possible for us to sit in the bar area as someone cancelled. The dinner was delicious and the service was friendly and very efficient.
Wonderful meal. Wonderful service. Looking forward to our next visit to Dominic's.
Fantastic service and fantastic food.
Outstanding experience. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and the service and food were outstanding. A young lady, Besa, was our server and she was top notch, very attentive and engaging.
Dominic's has something for everyone, food is great, recommend Chicken Marsala...
Great wine, the veal Picatta and veal Milanese were outstanding
Good food. Very crowded and loud. Short on service staff. They tried but service slow.
The service at Dominic's was friendly and the lasagna was delicious! I would recommend Dominic's to anyone who likes Italian food!
Family gathering! Great food great service and wonderful hospitality!
delicious food always close to home so easy to get to
Fresh interesting traditional Italian.....so dependably good!
Nice little Italian restaurant. Good for a quite business dinner or date night.
Steve was great!!! Wonderful service!
Everything was just ok. There was nothing that stood out as better than average. However the staff could have done a much better job. They were inattentive and ignored our requests.
Went for Valentine's Day. Service was very good..only lacked friendliness/helpfulness of the greeter and waitress; fantastic job by everyone else! Dinner left much to be desired. Steaks and asparagus lacked flavor/seasoning - very bland. Tarantuffo was out of this world! Lovely place, but I do feel as though the meal was nowhere near worth the price.
Memorable food and service in a warm, inviting setting.
My husband and I attended here for restaurant week, this was our first time here. The service was very nice, the atmosphere was great, our waiter was very nice. We would come back and recommend to our family/friends.
Dominic's Trattoria, in Clayton MO, is a gem. It is a must-visit for anyone who loves classic Italian food. I go there every time I visit St. Louis and every time I dine there, I am rewarded by a great dining experience.
We went to Dominic's as a special event (birthday) meal, also taking advantage of Clayton Restaurant week and the 3-course fixed-price meal that was offered. Dominic's specializes in traditional Italian haute cuisine. As you'd expect, the veal was exceptional, the first courses (in our case eggplant and cannelloni) were everything you'd expect from a fine Italian restaurant, and the dessert (Jackie's cake) was really special.
The sound level (while moderate by today's standards) was a bit loud for our taste, but we realize that we're decades out of touch with modern norms.
All in all, if you're looking for a fine Italian meal in Clayton, Dominic's is a really good choice.
Dominic's has been a favorite of mine for years. Dominic and his family genuinely
Enjoys hospitality and knows how to present a memorable meal every time I visit.
Great service & incredible food!!!
Everything was great and we will return and recommended to family and friends
Best Italian restaurant I've ever been to! I would recommend to anyone to stop by!
Waitress "Ellie" is a sweetheart. "Frank" as busy as he was, parking cars, helped our disabled friend through the door. Can't wait to come back. thx
Hostess was rude actually very rude. Food was fair at best. I will not be returning there it's too bad because the place is nice
I will find other places for business meals.
Dominic's Clayton was wonderful, relaxing, quiet, great ambiance, equally great service. The food was delicious and each course spaced perfectly and the staff very welcoming. There was a very nice view and a lovely dining room. Highly recommend to friends!
Great experience as always. Wonderful staff, great food and quiet enough to enjoy conversations with your guests.
We totally LOVE this place.. the food is always fantastic and the service amazing.. we come every time we are in St. Louis.. HIGHLY recommended!
