Dominicks - Lawrenceville
The restaurant was almost empty yet the server took so long to even come by and then took even longer to bring our food and water. The lasagna was cold and the Dominick's Chicken was drowning in sauce??? and had an awful and unappetizing presentation on the plate. When we asked for lasagna to be reheated the waiter that brough it back just threw it on the edge of the table. It was dry and smeared with extra tomato sauce.
Very good food and great service. Amazing portion sizes and the flavor delicious!! definitely would go back!
We went for my son’s birthday Saturday night. We were a party of 7. Our server was already busy with another party and while she did her job she was not very attentive. When our food arrived, we were not offered Parmesan cheese or fresh ground pepper. We asked another server to help and he grabbed the cheese from another table. Also, the half Caesar salad has appeared to shrink in size. Over all, our food was good.
The food was very good, service was good, however the special cocktail was not very good, tasted like NyQuil.
The BEST Italian food I have ever had. The garlic bread is a must have. I recommend it with the cheese. Even the half portions are huge!
Always large portions and excellent food. Our waiter was very attentive. Overall a great experience.
Freddy was awesome. Thanks for a great first time experience !
Family Christmas dinner
Our meal was very good. Our server was not very attentive nor did she explain things or seem knowledgeable. The table we sat at was quiet but too dark. But we had a good meal and good time.
Food was very good and service was friendly and efficient even though we were a party of nine and the restaurant was packed with holiday diners. Will definitely be back.
My family and I had a dinner here for my husband and I to reveal the gender of our baby. We had a reservation and arrived on time with no one in the dinning hall aside from maybe two other families and our table wasn’t ready. When we were finally seated it took 30 minutes for us to receive service. On top of that our server was very rude and demeaning. She didn’t seem to enjoy serving us and we were being as kind as possible given the circumstances of our visit. The food was great but the service was horrible. It definitely dampened our special occasion.
I've always had an amazing meal at Dominicks. The warm atmosphere and the excellent service made it an extra special dinner with a wonderful friend.
The restaurant is lovely. However, I was disappointed that it didn't have any gluten free pasta options. As an Italian Restaurant it should have options for people with allergies. My salad was great, but would of loved to tried your pasta-gluten free.
Food was just average for most part, and some way too salty. Service was great. we were very cramped in table because it was so close to the wall but could not move it out as it's the walk way for servers
Took My wife for our anniversary and the food and service were exceptional! Highly recommended!
My wife and I always eat at Dominick's on special occasions, or, when we just feel like it. We are never disappointed. The food is excellent and the service is always great. My recommendation is go family style get extra plates and enjoy a variety, get a bottle of Sycamore Lane Cab and enjoy. You will also have lots of left overs for the next day! 2 for the price of one!
Perfect dinner for an evening at the Aurora theatre 1 block away - Italian faire well done and served, delightful staff one and all. Perfect.
One of my favorite restaurants. Food is always good and the service is always great. Of course, will dine again.
Great food! Great service! Definitely enjoy frequenting this restaurant.
Cannelloni was too firm, almost hard, service was slow, repeated request for items, empty glasses were filled by other server. Maybe just a bad night.
Took 20 min to have someone greet us after we were seated.
My group of 9 went during a very busy time- high school homecoming. The employees at the front were very nice about our reservation, allowing us to push it back fifteen minutes because we were late. The waitress was superb, making small talk, complimenting my nails and our dresses, and was timely and kind. She also recommended the calamari; it was indeed tasty! The main dishes were delicious, but some of my guests said their meat was a tad bit dry. Everything was delightful though. The waitress didn't mind editing the bill when we decided to split the appetizer amongst our group. The environment was very friendly and homey; although, because it was a busy night, it was a little tight. The restaurant itself is in a very adorable city: Downtown Lawrenceville. The location and style was very nice, and I appreciated the personal pictures of the employees and history on the brick wall. And the brick wall made a very nice addition to pictures! The service was amazing, the food was great, and I would definitely recommend going to Dominick's. It's a great find!
The service was very good. The portions are to large. The veal was tough. I think it was overcooked. The others in the party thought the food was okay. The lasagna was a little salty. Decent wine list.
Great food and service!
Food was edible but nothing special.
We have enjoyed Dominic’s but disappointed they never have cappuccino. Told the machine is down. We have been told this before. Unacceptable for a nice Italian restaurant!!!
Family dinner - relatives in town from Florida.
Ask for Alex, he is fabulous!
I loved the food!!! I went with a group for homecoming and there was a group that had been there for 3 hours. So we had to wait just a few minutes and the restaurant kindly got them to leave. But I was a busy night and the staff handled it. We all ordered half meals and it’s still a lot of food, totally can share. Great value!! Our waitress was so nice too! Great comfort feel!
Very large portions- even the half orders were massive. 2 entrees were a bit too spicy hot.
Excellent food and in Norma’s portions
My husband was raised in an Italian family, so far it’s the only Italian restaurant he’s dying to go back to.
Large portions, Italian food, nice atmosphere, very good service, have here often.
Very nce spot, really good food but be warned, HUGE portions!
Had an amazing dinner at Dominick's in historic Lawrenceville for my mom's 60th birthday. The service was spectacular and the food was uh-mazing! Great, big portions so it's family style (half portions are even big enough to share with one or two people!). The restaurant itself is very rustic looking which I loved! We will definitely be back!
Going to Aurora for a play at 8:00, so reservations at Dominicks at 6:30 seemed very generous. There was only the explanation that the kitchen was backed up that our entree's were served at 7:40. Rushed to eat- not good. Poor attention on drink refills - not good. Delivered the wrong check - (delayed again) - not good. It all adds up to review like this.
We came after theater show.
Very good experience. Excellent food.
I’d recommend Dominick’s to friends.
Just plain great. We had an excellent meal. Eggplant parm, Chicken Cat, and Lazagna was great.
I selected this restaurant for my birthday dinner. I was very dissatisfied. I had not been to this restaurant in a number of years and decided to give it a try again. I would not return.
Good food, reasonably priced. Very, very large portions. Service was fantastic! Very friendly, courteous, and professional. Cocktails were quite tasty. Definitely full pour on the liquor. Kudos to the bartender. I’d recommend for a friends get together or large group. If you want quiet and romantic you may want to stay away on busy weekend nights.
Food was good, excellent service. We called ahead for 7PM and waited about 15-20 minutes for a table. Good wine....
Kim is fabulous- so glad we had her table this visit
