Dominicks - Lawrenceville

came here on a saturday night (tonight specifically) for a special occasion and first time outing at this particular restaurant for the family.
1) no one acknowledged our opentable notes
2) server was not attentive and we kept having to wave her down
3) we didn’t know the bread was limited and server came off rude when she informed us the bread was not unlimited (delivery of the message was not friendly)
4) out of the 5 dishes that we ordered; only 1 was decent (chicken scallopini)
5) lasagna tasted overcooked and at least a day old. the filling wasn’t even hot nor was it melted like a fresh slab of lasagna would present itself
6) the 2 dishes that claimed the sauce was garlic based had no garlic taste. the complimentary bread had more garlic notes than either of the dishes
7) Alfredo pasta was also a disappointment as they were stingy on the sauce and creaminess of the sauce. the Parmesan flavor did not shine through
8) the pasta with the sausage and beans was the worst dish at the table. there were barely any sausage in the dish and the sauce seem to be watered down and bland. THIS DISH ACTUALLY GAVE MY HUSBAND THE RUNS (AND AND AN UPSET STOMACH) AFTER DINNER. sorry for the TMI, but it this dish was not good nor was the value worth it!!
A lovely restaurant and our waiter was wonderful. The food was delicious. We had an amazing evening evening out.
I hosted a party of 6 for dinner and I asked our server to box for the few people who wanted to take their remaining food home. The portions are large and too good to not dine on at home rather than throwing them away. He simple handed me the boxes and the plastic bags. I asked again about him boxing but he simple walked away. It did not diminished the food quality, but it certainly diminished the dining experience.
Fantastic as always, food was excellent and the service was better.
Reservations for 8 for birthday. Everything was great. Adrianne (sp) our server, excellent. Treated birthday girl extra special. Food tasted great, portions more than plentiful even to share. Will be back.
Great food - big portions - great atmosphere. We really enjoyed our meal.
Service was good. I made a note on the reservation but it wasn't acknowledged.. It was my daughter's 18th bday . I think because it was so slow, they didn't even look at the reservation. I also didn't advise when I walked in so that's on me..
Just might be good to review the open table res regardless of volume..
The server was super nice! Will absolutely go back!
We always enjoy Dominick’s and plan many of our special occasions there. Service was outstanding again this time.
My Eggplant was not very good. The manager immediately got me another dish, took it off the bill and half priced the new item. They then offered us a complimentary dessert. Way above expectations.
Atmosphere was great. Food was good. Service was a bit slow, but not at all a problem. Really nice place
Foods a little bland. But definitely a lot of food! Couples can share half portions.
First time visiting this restaurant. Celebrated my mom's 76th birthday and was not disappointed. Dominick and manager made sure we were taken care of and food was wonderful! Will definitely come back.
We had such a nice time at Dominick’s. Our server, Alex, was exceptional, and the food was amazing. We will be back soon!
Really enjoyed our first time at Dominick's. Great service, atmosphere, food, portions.......will definitely go back.
The food was great and the waiter was super awesome. The only reason you didnt get a high rating is the facilities are not handicap accessible. Going in and out the front door was crazy and needs to be fixed. OMG, its less than 20 dollars to fix it. Come on! I almost got dumped from my wheel chair leaving. Just fix the handicap issues and you will have achieved greatness.
The waiter and the food were fantastic! Great place for a date!
Great service, kind waiter, great ambiance and the food was DELICIOUS!
Cant believe we had never been before!! Really tasty food. The whole family raved about our entree portions/the flavor was so on point/delicious.
Surprisingly disappointing. We've shared good meals at Dominick's so many times and always loved it enough to go back. Tonight, after a long wait for food, the meal was mediocre at best. Cold meatballs and tepid side dishes. The hot coffee was the best part. Hope this isn't a trend. Disappointing for a Father's Day meal.
We had a reservation for 6:15 on a Friday night and were promptly seated. Our server kept our beverages refilled and was extremely attentive. We ordered half portions of chicken parmigiana and lasagna that were HUGE. They were delicious and made a great lunch the next day. (The server boxed these up for us.). We also order an order of cheese garlic bread that I fantastic. We definitely will be back.
The special garlic bread and salad was the best part.. my pork chops were tough.. way too much pene pasta.. not flavorful.. my husbands veal was tough.. our friends chicken park was floating in sauce..
service was above average
We spent over 150.00... Wasn’t worth is.. will go elsewhere for Italian ..
Provo is in Snellville and Pamendi’s in Loganville are the best! Sorry we didn’t go there...
Visit here often.
Great food with good friends ❤️
We were very disappointed in the meals. We had eaten at Dominicks in Norcross and had a better meal. I actually ordered the same entrée, which was good at Norcross and poor at Lawrenceville, Veal Marsala. The veal was tough, the mushrooms not cooked enough, and the sauce was not reduced enough, very disappointing. My son, at 15 years old, described his Lasagna dish as quantity over quality. My husband was also disappointed with his entrée which was average at best. We spent close to $100 for the 3 of us, no salad is included, not a very good value for our money. The only good thing was the appetizer, calamari and the red sauce. Needless to say, we won't be eating there again.
Waiter was very nice and made us feel welcome. Prices were good, certainly a little less than many other places, but food is just okay. Not bad, just not good. I had the shrimp scampi - shrimp seemed to be good quality but seemed to be a little too coated with oil - kind of as much about the feel as the flavor. My friend had chicken piccata and would give a similar review - it was okay. Convenient for the theatre and so if you are going there, you will get a decent meal and be able to make the theatre.
Perfect for a pre-theater dinner, and we will definitely be back. Great service, yummy food, and very generous portions. I hope they decide to add gluten free pasta to their menu, but I ate very well, nonetheless!
First time to dine here. Selected it as close to Aurora Theatre. Arrived a few minutes late, but dinner was served and it was great. Very authentic Italian. Portions are huge! Definitely recommend.
The portions are huge. Typically a half order is enough to share. We normally start with either the crab cakes or mussels- I would recommend either. Split a half salad and a half entrée. Every entrée I've tried: pasta, seafood, veal, has been excellent. The staff is always very attentive. Just a very enjoyable place to eat before going to the Aurora Theatre or doing something in downtown Lawrenceville.
We went because the last time we came to Dominick’s it was outstanding! Couldn’t wait to come back. I ordered exactly what I had before. Pasta and meatballs. Not as good as a few weeks ago. Meat sauce a bit watery, meatballs pretty tough. They used a different pasta noodle than before. A thicker noodle. Even the wonderful cheesy bread wasn’t as good. Bread seemed very “airy”.
It’s funny, this has happened before though. One dinner is fabulous, next time, not so much.
But overall, I think it’s a yummy place and enjoy the atmosphere.
Great restaurant. Loads of food. A little salty- but overall very good. Innovative Italian dishes.
Had the lasagna and it was really good. Portions are big so you get value for that. The salad was ok, not bad not great. The garlic bread was delicious. The employees were courteous and attentive. Was a little troublesome finding parking but was a nice time. Would repeat.
Yes, with caveats. I had made reservations, and even though there were plenty of seats, they couldn't seem to seat us. Finally seats next to the kitchen door though a table near the back was available.
Then we couldn't seem to get waited on.
I finally asked if we could get someone and they went scurrying to find someone. Many minutes later someone asked for our drink order. Since it was crowded by then and we were next to the kitchen, the wait staff had to squeeze by us with every order. Food was good. Took a while to get refills on drinks. All in all, okay.
This was the best Italian food I’ve had since coming to Atlanta. The full portion size is huge! The leftovers I had were even better the next day!
We had a large part of 10 people and the server was excellent! Almost everyone took food home serving size was huge and very well priced! Wine list could be expanded some (cabs)
Best food and value for Italian cuisine in Gwinnett.
We dined on Mother’s Day. The food was excellent- they had a full house, so the servers were quite busy, but worked hard to keep everyone happy. We’ll be back!
Great place! Love the staff and food. Blonde manager is a little off the wall but she’s ok. Not much customer service with her attitude
The place looked beautiful. And the food service was fast! And it still tasted amazing!
The food taste was great ! The server was friendly but could have used a little help as drink refills were initially slow (party of 13). Was next to a kitchen door (did not like placement). Food portions were incredible !! Overall a positive experience. Will return.
Very nice dinner with the family. 1/2 portions are huge. Will return. Great service.
