Birthday weekend with our kids
in the reservation i said their were two birthdays and they didn’t even acknowledge it
Just awkward . Guy at the door seemed a little more friendly with the American customers than us … it was just a bad experience inside the waiter did not once check on us to fill water or anything . Just seemed like they had some little problem with us and I was with my baby and wife so we hoped we had a better experience . We ended up saying we would never go to this site again
Waiter kept asking us for our main order. Just wanted some time to enjoy a cocktail and make decisions. Wasn’t happy about that.
I enjoyed the food, service and view. Clam chowder was excellent.
There was a wait due to understaffed, but overall worth the time and money.
First dining experience at this restaurant. Domenico’s seated us fairly quickly. We began with the grilled artichoke heart topped with a balsamic drizzle and a garlic mayonnaise for dipping. The grill taste really came out with the drizzle and the mayo. For the entrees, two has the fish and chips, one had the deep fried prawns, and I had the sole. The sole was fantastic! Fresh vegetables, garlic mashed, and the fish in a light lemon sauce. I sampled all the proteins at the table and would order all three entrees when we return.
Beautiful view . Most tables are by the water . You can see seals playing . Calamari was delicious
The meals were quite bland. This is more a place to come to sit with a view of the bay rather than delicious former food.
Delicious food, attentive service and incomparable views combine for a wonderful night out.
Perfect location. Service was outstanding. My friend’s dish was a pasta with really small shrimp. My dish was told that the salmon middle would be pink. It was. Didn’t taste great. Never going to order that again. My other friend got a great pasta dish with seafood. She loved it.
Me and my fiancé had a very nice dinner yesterday in celebration of our baby moon; our son is due next week. Couldn’t have ended such a relaxing weekend any better than ending it there. Such a great environment and delish food! Will definitely be going again in the near future!
Great place and easy to book a reservation with Open Table. We got stuck in traffic on our way into Monterey and was able to change our reservation thru the app.
The restaurant was easy to find and located midway on the wharf. Service was quick and friendly. Views were beautiful and available from any table in the restaurant. Menu had plenty of choices without being overwhelming. Calamari was good as an appetizer. My husband had the choppino and I had the mixed grill with salmon, swordfish, and shrimp. We shared the tiramisu for dessert. It was all very good! I was disappointed that I didn't get a chance to try the coffee drink listed at the bottom of the cocktail menu. Good reason to go back!
Great experience? Would definitely go back!
This is not your typical Italian seafood restaurant. It is sadly a typical restaurant on fisherman’s wharf. I ordered a seafood pasta dish that should have had crab meat in it.
There was no crab meat at all. When I brought it up to a waiter ha had no answer, when the maiter’d came over he tried to say there was not supposed to have crab. When I pointed out the description in the menu he when tried to tell me the crab was in the dish. This is all to typical of restaurants, a bate and switch. You should also know that Domenicos is not a quite place whit a ambiance. It is a high volume restaurant with plastic table cloths and waiters that strive for turnover. I won’t go back.
The food was great! But the service was terrible! I was out to dinner with customers and noticed a group of five that was seated 15 minutes after we ordered and they got served before us. Needless to say, if you don't mind waiting forever then go to Domenico's.
We enjoyed dining with a great view of the harbor boats. Our meal was good. This restaurant was recommended to us by a valet at a neighboring hotel.
We were disappointed in two different cocktails thaty we ordererd. I sent the first one back - a Mai Tai with no sweetness at all. I drank the second one after asking the waiter to have the bartender sweeten it - a Pina Colada.
under staffed in the kitchen and the bar.
Our server was outstanding.
Will not return here until i have eaten everywhere else. yes everywhere.
Great food and views
Domenico’s was a wonderful experience. They were very accommodating, as my whole family has Celiacs disease. The food was delicious, what we ordered was gluten free, and Anastasia was an incredibly pleasant and attentive server. Thank you for the very pleasant experience.
Family dinner to celebrate family.
Halibut was bland, prawns on mixed grill overcooked. Veg and potatoes on one entree were cold. Waiter never checked in after food was served. Disappointing.
Our food was good, and server was friendly. But we saw our busser much more frequently and some at our table complained about how long drinks took to arrive. Food was good, but not great. If you remember that you're having a meal at a touristy location in Monterey then you'll be fine with the experience. If you're expecting value for the price, prepare to be disappointed.
This is the third time In the last few months I have made a reservation there. The first time was a treat. I received prompt seating and great service. The second was a disaster. We were seated a half hour after our reservation, sat for twenty minutes with no attention until we flagged down a waiter from another section who took our order, then waited thirty minutes before flagging down the maitre d’ to track down our order. Interestingly, Domenico’s reported us as a now show to Open Table presumably to prevent me from posting a review. The credit card charge overturned that. This time, I showed up exactly at 8:15 for my reservation and no table was available. Based on my prior experience and as I was a single this time, I decided to eat at the bar. The bartender was gracious and made a great scotch old fashioned to my specifications. The Caesar was excellent and had anchovies in it. In most other places these days, it is some sort of romaine concoction without anchovies which is definitely NOT a Caesar. The crab cakes were quite good. I’m still ambivalent about this place. Very touristy.
they have the highest quality seafood at the restaurant, the clam chowder is a must, service is exceptional, great views of the seals in the bay.
Food was not good.
The food was wonderful, service friendly and warm.
Best food on the wharf and we've tried them all. Order the Alaskan Halibut if available. The cedar planked Alaskan Salmon, with the honey glaze, is also outstanding.
Great appetizers and entrees! Cocktails (I ordered an Old Fashioned) was not as good as I expected. Service was professional and welcoming. Ambience was pleasant with lighting not dimmed too much and the noice level on the lower end.
The waiters were amazing. Service was good, drinks were always full at the table and they made sure we were attended to. Food was delicious, and perfectly cooked. Drinks were a bit pricey tho.
Wonderful food great experience!
Excellent food, amazing drinks, great waiters! Highly recommend!
I reserved a table overlooking the water and when we got there they put us in the very corner when walk-ins were being put by the water. The person who placed us in the back was very rude and short. Every time I wanted to speak to mgt she would rush over and cut the conversation budding in and making sure the Mgr didn't make any other arrangements. I have been going here for years but will never eat here again. I bragged so much about the service and was really embarrassed by the host's behavior. No apologies, and zero remorse. Very disappointed!
Food was excellent. Fortino aka Forty was great and kept the meal and drinks in order. Special thanks to him!
Delicious! Very good service. The view of the harbor is great.
I set reservation for a window table for my anniversary. They tried to sit us in a crowded corner no where near a window. I put notes about all of this. The host said we could wait at the bar and he would seat us as soon as one opened up. He seated other people in the table he said was for us. I've never felt so disrespected. I will never go back.
Thank you, we enjoyed the food, view, and service! We will be back soon.
Family of five. We booked an outdoor table as we had our dog with us. Incredibly busy day on the wharf being Independence Day. Waitress was friendly and attentive as she could be, but she clearly needed more help. A table of four seated after us, got their appetizers first while our food was delayed. Then our food came out all at once, appetizer and entrees to a small table. I'm balancing my plate on the edge of the table. Food was OK. Hit or miss depending on the dish. If not for the fact that it was dog friendly, we likely won't come here again.
