First time here and everything was good, food and service.
Everything ordered including the kids Mac and cheese meal were very tasteful. The plates offer a considerate portion and there was no disappointment with any of the food choices (mainly seafood).
The service was outstanding and the food was great. I will definitely return and recommend to friends and family
Great overall. The food was delicious with great proportions
The dining experience was good, our server was great. The food was also good. The only little issue that kinda put a damper on the night for me was I wanted a Happy Birthday kind of celebration and that it didn’t happen. The first Valet Guy was great he made me feel so welcome and was excellent. The second valet guy going home was more worried about a tip than getting our cars. He even told me to walk to my car once he felt like he wasn’t getting what he wanted. I felt that it was so unprofessional considering the Resturant reputation.
The food was delicious. It was a great date spot. The drinks were phenomonal also!
I was a bit dissapointed in the seafood/fish selection - I expected more. Food was fine, okay, but nothing I would return for. I also thought the atmosphere would be better, given the waterfront location.
Very good food. I portions can be a little bigger though. Lol
It was okay, I went for restaurant week. I have gone before and the food was much better. It was a slow night and I don't think the food was as fresh as it could be. However , the service was very good.
Great food great atmosphere and great staff. Valet parking too.
It was noisy because there were two birthday parties but the food was good. It was our anniversary and I let them know when I made the reservations but they didn't acknowledge it. Been here before and will come back in the better weather so we can sit outside for drinks.
Dined early due to a commitment so it was quiet- 3 of us all enjoyed our meals- attentive and timely. We all had a different special entree. Steak frites was especially tasty and tender. Entire experience from the host, to the bar server(we had cocktails first) to the table server were terrific. Nice experience- Recommend!
The corn curry soup is gross. The raw oysters were good and fresh. The fish and chips are just a few fried shrimp. The stake frites was good, but it had too much chimi sauce.
All 3 appetizers were terrific, main courses were on the menu and each one we had was very good, with the mashed taters a must have. The bottles of wine were really nothing special and could have been skipped. Overall, they were lightly staffed, with 2 group conferences going on at same time, making for a longer wait. We had sent along a request recognizing the birthday event we were there for, but it was ignored or missed completely.
Very quiet due to a snow storm, had the seafood payah which didn’t sit well with my stomach when I got home (it only takes 1 shrimp)
The 3rd party valet was VERY rude asking for the pre pay fee before giving me a spot (take cash) after doing that and eating dinner, then wouldn’t give me my keys until I gave him a tip (even though I pre paid a fee)
I tip is earned by good service ..... it wasn’t there
This is a. Hidden Jewel!! Awesome food, great ambiance and Superior value!!
Very good food. You have the whole restaurant to yourself after 2 PM for lunch.
Creative presentation of delicious food.
Great food and service! I recommend for both lunch and dinner.
Crab nachos did not have any crab in it just unmelted cheese and salad with dressing nothing special, tacos no taste at all plus over fried sausages, steak have was chewy and tasteless
Try the crab nachos
It was a good meal and good value. There wasn’t anything spectacular that would make me want to go back but I wouldn’t rule it out either.
It's a dissent place, food was acceptable, bill not too high for quality of food and service. We expected Hudson view since it's waterfront, but you can't see water from inside the restaurant. I would recommend this place to gluten-free folks since they had a pretty good selection of GF dishes on the menu.
While I really, really want to love the Dolphin due to the location and wanting to support Downtown Yonkers I leave disappointed every time. The food is okay with the highlight of my meal being the oysters - cold and fresh. The paella, while abundant with seafood and chicken was a little bland (would have loved more of that delicious chorizo).
It's the service that leaves me baffled. On a lunch visit over the summer the only server also seemed to be the bus boy (and would be absent for long periods of time) and a simple summer lunch took over 2.5 hours. Not a manager in sight and tables grumbling all around us. During our most recent visit after waiting for our order to be taken I asked our server if there were any specials and he asked if we had received the menu insert, which we had not. Throughout the meal the server would disappear for long periods of time and when at our table seemed annoyed by the whole process. I will go back for the reasons listed above and I hope that the next visit will be better.
Food always on point! Dolphin never disappoints!
"I love the relaxed feel of this place. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The curry corn soup was fantastic, and the salad was refreshing. We had the raw clams, oysters, and shrimp. We loved it. Service was well-timed and friendly. The infused liquor was a great twist and complimented our lunch.
Great meals love the sweet potatoe fries awesome!
Service was great , warm , friendly, and warm greating.
The seafood dish was deliouios full of flavor.
We enjoyed our experience very calm and imitate
Will definitely come again food great too
Great food and ambiance, def will be back.
My sisters and I really enjoyed our drinks and food. One suggestion was to lighten up a little on the slat but otherwise, we were happy with the service and the food.
The Thai basil mussels were to die for really great.
Dirty restaurant floors, walls. Bathroom sink look like a moldy morticians sink. Food was like a step up from baby food. The smell of either bad cologne or cheap cover up spray in the dining area was inescapable. I should have left just after being seated, but i didnt due to being w another who never said a word about what was obvious to me. Typical hungry man... food drives him. Thinking back, i should have dissed this place.
I had been to Dolphin in the past, and felt their food was okay. I returned after two years, and was pleasantly surprised by their new, more creative menu. We visited during restaurant week to celebrate my friend's birthday. Everyone was pleased with what they ordered and found it to be a fun, relaxing experience. I had the goat cheese/Kale salad and the salmon entree. Both were fresh and delicious. I also had the cheesecake berry dessert which was light and tasted divine. Overall a pleasant experience in a non-rushed atmosphere. The only negative is that parking increased from $3 to $5 (that's with discount from Dolphin without including valet tip). This additional cost could discourage customers, but I still recommend the restaurant.
Food and drinks are fantastic! The pumpkin risotto balls are absolutely delicious!
Food was ok, paella had minimal flavor. Prices were high for the quality. B
Not many people in the restaurant but service was slow anyway.
We went for restaurant week and stayed for trivia night !
Food was outstanding, service was timely and the value was in the great tasting steak.
The Dolphin Restaurant is located near the Hudson River. It has a spectacular location.
The ambiance is very up beat and up dated. The bathrooms are very clean and also up dated. I have never seen a bathroom sink that glows. Very cool. The Dolphin is a place to relax and enjoy. The service is very good. They do not hover but they are very attentive.
The Food is questionable. I had the miso chicken. It was so spicy. My mouth was on fire with every bite. My husband and I switched dishes. He could tolerate spicy more than I. He had to a lot of drink water to endure the meal. They should warn people, Spicy Dish. The other dish, butternut squash ravioli, was swimming in oil. Although, it was still enjoyable. I liked the added butternut squash to the dish. It give it a fresh taste. But the ravioli are not fresh and I felt like they came from Costco. It really is a delightful restaurant. I would go back. I went for Restaurant week. So sometime meals can be mass produced. It is worth another try.
This was excellent food and great service at a reasonable price. Well done!
The service was efficient an friendly. Sitting outside on a warm day and looking at the river is delightful. The food is always good, and I am so glad they participate in restaurant week. The goat cheese salad could use a little more goat cheese, but the dressing was sweet and light. The pumpkin ravioli was delicious, surrounded by grilled shrimp and pieces of pumpkin. I took most of it home for lunch the next day. The cobbler was pieces of apple in a cinnamon sauce with vanilla ice cream. More than enough food for a delightful lunch.
Went for restaurant week to celebrate friend's birthday. Every dish was so good that we all finished EVERYTHING!
My husband and I had two different appetizers; the Soup of the Day ( Pork n Bean) and the Pumpkin Risotto Balls. Both were delicious. For our second course, I had the Seared Atlantic Salmon ( it was perfectly seasoned the skin was crispy and the salmon was moist and delicious on a bed of creamy sweet potatoes. My husband had the Miso Glazed Chicken it was just the right amount of spicy and enough food for two people!
We barely had enough room for dessert but we forced ourselves and we're so glad we did! The apple cobbler was to die for, warm, sweet and the drizzle of Carmel sauce set it off!
