The food was delicious as always. And the service was terrific. Attentive without being intrusive.
A neighborhood gem! Veal was delicious and very reasonable. Liked the intimate feel of the restaurant definitely return again.
Friendly staff, amazing food, great night overall.
Great food. Good service. Went there on Valentine's Day with wife and daughter and friend to celebrate her move to NYC. This is a hidden gem. Would definitely recommend.
The waiter was really rude while taking the order
A fine lunch at a fair price.
We have dined here many times over the years, and the menu and food quality are better than ever. The out of the way location must be the explanation for the scarcity of customers on a Friday night. We usually go after a movie at the local AMC, but this restaurant is worth a special trip. Highly recommended. Good value, too.
dolchino has been in business for many years, a survivor in the restaurant wars. It is worth traveling to 2nd Ave. is this is one of the nicest high-quality restaurants that you can get a good meal under 30 bucks in New York. Thank you for surviving and thank you for continuing to be such a wonderful place especially to take visitors from out of town.
The absolute most deplorable management I’ve ever seen. My review is on yelp. The owner/ manager accused me outright of starting a fight with a party when I was there previously. It was not me. He insisted. I left immediately. The food is mediocre at best, ambience nill and management atrocious. Went for convenience to movie theatre and always could get in. Now I know why despicable. Worst experience I ever had !!
The food was OK - too much sauce on my pasta - but good portion. Service was courteous but overall experience wasn't that enjoyable - ambiance not great, waiter didn't tell us about the specials like they did to the table that got seated next to us, which was strange. With all the restaurants in NYC, I likely will not be returning.
Unfortunately we had a bad experience this past time. The food is excellent but the busboy was in such a rush to get us out that he took our plates away before we had finished our meal. We tried to tell him but it was so noisy in the restaurant that he didn’t hear us. The waiter never checked in with us after our food was delivered. We realize that it is holiday time and large loud parties were being accommodated but we were ignored and our service was suboptimal. Having said that, the food was delicious. We had baked clams - too much breading. The caprese salad was excellent. Veal Parmesan and shrimp Fra diavolo was excellent. May or may not go back.
Day after Thanksgiving, train show @ NYBG, walkin’ the Highline, all family, dinner at Dolcino Trattoria Toscana was outstanding ending to a wonderful day!
It was a very nice, quiet, neighborhood restaurant. We enjoyed it.
Despite receiving a reservation conformation from Open Table the restaurant was closed when we arrived at the appointed time and date.
We usually love this place but there wasn't even a closed note on the door.
Please let me know what was the problem.
Eat there regularly for a reason and have for years. Good value, good food, good service.
Great food. Great service. Reasonable price. Quiet and elegant. We'll be back!
Food was always good, Just didapinted they don’t have the veal scallopini.
It is a reliable neighborhood gem and never disappoints.
Very good but the waiter was a hurry to rush us out the door. Our reservation was for 9 PM, and by 10 he was ready for us to leave, as he made very clear even though there were still other customers. When I questioned this, he said "they had a reservation" although we also had a reservation through Open Table.
What a great neighborhood find, righting Kipps Bay. The clientele seem local, the pace of the restaurant is relaxing and the variety of outstanding food was impressive. We had four different entrees and each exceeded expectations. We were there for a birthday celebration and the staff were particularly attentive.
This is a lovely neighborhood restaurant with excellent and delicious food. Perfect spot to enjoy a meal with friends and family!
Dolcinos is one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants. We especially like having specisl celebrations there!!
It was our first time there and we'll definitely go back. It is a very nice setting; tables nicely spaced. Menu has many options and everything we tried was delicious. There weren't many servers, but they seemed to make it work.
Great place to bring your kids. Great food
A neighborhood trattoria with good food friendly service. Nice for lunch or dinner
Have come here often and always had a lovely meal. The $29 prix fixe (not listed on their website) makes it all the more appealing. Started with the large portion of grilled portobello mushrooms, and then veal piccata in a fabulous sauce with lemon and capers. You even get dessert included. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend.
Tasty food, good service, and most importantly a quiet place with widely spaced tables, thus suitable for conversation with a friend.
One of our favorite local restaurants the food is always wonderful and the staff very polite and remember your drink orders from each time we go there.
We eat there often, about once a week. Always quiet and tasty with excellent specials as well as Italian staples on the menu.
Great neighborhood place. Have been several times with friends. Food is good and now even a better value since they added a $29 prix fixe option. Excellent service. Had portobello mushroom appetizer and veal scallopine main -very tender. Also a really delicious Cosmopolitan cocktail!
Wonderful restaurant. Needed a dinner spot near the NY Comedy Club. Pleased to have found Dolce. A charming restaurant with very good food and service. Will be sure to visit again.
Birthday and family get together after a broadway show. Food was served hot and was delicious. Moderately priced for NY so it’s a win-win. I definitely will be going here again!
The food was very good but the service was not. We could not get a servers attention the whole night and the place only has about ten people in it
I think I have reviewed this restaurant before. It holds up as a great neighborhood place with reliably good food and a nice ambiance. The staff is friendly and the service is smooth. I like the fact that it is not crowded, but wish a few more people knew about this off-the-beaten-path gem. Excellent choice for a meal before or after a movie at Kips Bay AMC.
The restaurant offers a good atmosphere and decent Italian food. There is nothing that stands out -- a very average experience with average food. The service was the best part of the meal, our waiter was extremely kind and on top of refilling water and bread.
Excellent neighborhood restaurant with excellent food (specials!!) and reasonable prices. Low noise level and rarely crowded. We eat there a number of times a month and keep going back!
We went in the evening on a Thursday. It was the perfect atmosphere that evening for quiet Conversation. Most of the food was good, especially the striped seabass and Salmon. The cheesecake was dry and lumpy. The service was very good and was hospitable. I would go again.
Best kept secret!!! Quiet, cozy and delicious food!
Food was great. Location makes it easy to miss because it's on congested block/area. Would definitely go back to try other selections on the menu.
simple neighborhood Italian with decent ambiance, service, food, wine list. Prix Fixe dinner a good deal. Very pleasant.
