Dolce Italian Ratings and Reviews
We arrived before dinner service so we had drinks at the bar. The service and drinks were excellent. We were seated outside on the upper level at a great table. The weather was perfect. We split the fritto misto app, which was perfectly cooked and had a wonderful arrabbiata sauce. For our main course we had, TORTELLI AL TARTUFO - ricotta & spinach, montasio, leeks, preserved black truffles, and CAVATELLI ALLA BOLOGNESE -braised beef, veal, pork ragu. Both of these dishes were outstanding. The portions were generous and rich. Our server was friendly and responsive. He decanted our wine and paid attention to our wine glasses throughout dinner. The only downer for me was the added 18% tip, which I thought for a party of two was a bit tacky. We normally leave a 20% tip for good service and I would have left even more for this experience. I asked the server about this and he said it was corporate policy.
Overall the food was quite nice but I would not recommend because of the rushed service. The essence of the Italian meal is a slow social occasion. 3 of our 4 main courses arrived while we were still eating our appetisers. There was no acknowledgement or embarrassment from the servers. We felt rushed and had unwelcome and by the time we did start our pasta it was of course not as hot as intended.
First they did not have our reservation down on their books. But, I presented a confirmation and they then found us a table. This was my first time using open table, and showed up with no reservation showing. Then was not pleasant, but we finely made it work out for us.
My mom and I happened to be staying at the Gale and ate here on a girls' weekend trip. It is excellent food, service and atmosphere. My mom is gluten free and vegetarian, and it was no problem for her to order. They are very accommodating. We will definitely be coming here the next time we are in Miami. *The meatballs are divine!
Ambiance and service was impecable. The one thing I do have to say is not kid friendly in terms of not having any cheaper options for him. I asked for a kid speghetti with meatballs and they charged us a full price 28.00!! Yes, maybe I shouldn't have brought my kid, but he sure was not going to finish a 28.00 adult portion.
Hello Julio 😊 , i hope all is well, let me begin by letting you know that we had an amazing time yesterday, since the moment we walked in we were greet by the hostess in which she happen to be very nice, nevertheless we went on the bar to have a few cocktails as usual and we had the opportunity to meet Ana, which i called her Jeniffer by mistake multiple time, she was outstanding and very easy going, you did great with her there she seems to be a great people person, later on while we were seating at bar, Mimmo came along and introduced him self to us, sweet hi very polite and professional we did not expected anything less from a restaurant where you have your hands on 😊 tone frankly honest, i introduce him to Mr. Mackay “Clive” he did liked him a lot you know how rare is to find well educated and kind people in this industry, on another note once we were done at the bar, we were seated at out table, let me tell you something.... the music selection that set the ambiance yesterday was perfection, quite and 70s Clive sincerely loved it as we all did, Ana at the bar suggested a few dishes which one of the guest had the lobster ravioli to die for by the way, so when we sat on the table Mimmo introduced us to our server Luca i believe his name was, he was superb, im telling you you have magnificent staff, the food was excellent without doubt, not to mention the ultimate kindness of Mimmo of sending us a few appetizers for the table and the pizza was to die for i had to take it home cause it was too much food 😊, the meatball where delicious as well, my seafood pasta was fabulous, the carrot soup clive said it was one of the best he have ever try and he travels the world so trust me when tell you he was impressed and we will definitely come back, he is staying here for another 5 weeks, so they will see us again, on another note and for last, i had a real cappuccino and dessert omg, The Dolce Italian experience was beyond our expectations.

Great food and ambiance. Very authentic Italian food. Both chef and our waiter were straight from Italy. Portion sizes were generous and prices were fair for the location of the restaurant.
Dim lighting and busy atmosphere. Only real downside was the place was really noisy. Despite that, had a great experience and would gladly return and recommend the restaurant.
Once we got passed the hostess trying to seat us at the only bad table in the house (right at the top of the stairs with zero light and in a very high traffic area) we had a spectacular evening. Amazing service by Carmine from Naples (the one in Italy). Great wine list with reasonably priced bottles as well as cellar worthy options. Out of this world caprese with warm house-made mozzarella and heirloom tomatoes. Amazing house-made pasta and decadent deserts. Gratuity was included as it is with many Miami Beach restaurants but we were happy to add extra for superb service which is rare in these circumstances. Wish we were in town longer so we could try a few more dishes.
