The restaurant was close!
My boss is furious with me!
It was an important business dinner and it became a big screw up.
I would like you to inform me what exactly happened?
I have been here numerous times on the weekday and find it to be a nice environment for dinner with friends. I came on a rainy Tuesday evening and there were not many people there. I was seated on the corner table of a long comfortable booth. I had 2 glasses of red wine, my friend 2 cocktails (pineapple express and one off the menu requesting a sweet drink). We shared the seared scallops, which were very good, and I had the spaghetti al pomodoro. It was al dente, good though nothing special, but I wasn't expecting it to be. My friend had the pappardelle alla bolognese which she enjoyed. I ordered the chocolate mousse cake for dessert, which was light, fluffy and easy to eat. I will most likely be back.
Went for brunch and got the bubbles package. Food was amazing as was the belinis! Would recommend to anyone. Service was also really good!
I truly enjoy the experience of dinning here, at Dolce Italia Chicago. From the door you are greeted with a smile, and the servers and entire staff were very attentive and friendly. Food is excellent and phenomenal dishes. The chefs menu is well selected, and beautiful presentation! Will be back here very soon.
I usually try to stay out of hotel restaurants so Dolce was not on my list of places to go but I was very pleasantly surprised! The food, mood, and scene were great. It is busy with not being over crowded and you can not beat the prices. The manager was very attentive and made sure all my dietary restrictions were handled. I am def. going back!
Food is good, but not worth the price. If you want to celebrate a birthday there and want to bring a cake from home, there is a “cake cutting fee” of $25. This is a rip-off ruined the experience.
Was wonderful and delicious, thank you! Happy Valentine’s
Most definitely our new favorite place to take friends! We are always treated very well (and have experienced many different servers so management must instill strong customer service); all of the various entrees we have tried have been superb and their desserts are also all amazing. They make their own mozzarella and the tomatoes we had with their Caprese salad were amazing especially for this time of year. Don't delay - dine there today!
We had a fantastic time there for brunch and thoroughly enjoyed the bottomless Bloody Mary/Mimosa option! Wonderful food selection. The salmon and eggs were AMAZING as were the pancakes. Would go again!
Great Service, Great Food, I would definitely return and would love to explore the menu a bit further. The table was clean and well organized for an elegant meal. Beer menu is lacking, but the signature cocktails make up for that.
Dolce continues to be one of my favorite Restaurants. Always good food and great service!
The restaurant is beautiful. The staff is friendly. The food is yummy. What more can you want?! I can't wait to go back again!
Was there for brunch, and I don’t know whether it was the eggs Benedict or the disgusting water (it smelled like sewage water- awful). Whatever it was, I got really sick right after. Even if that wasn’t the case, I wouldn’t go back because the food was below average
Totally amazing brunch service with bottomless mimosas— great food, pastas are to die for. Will come back soon.
Such a a great time! The Dolce staff did such a great job creating the surprise for my friends birthday! The staff was great and Chef Victor did an excellent job too!! Thank you very much and we look forward to coming back in the future!
One of Chicago's best Italian restaurants. The salads were very fresh and quite tasty. The pastas were wonderful and perfectly flavored. Our wait person was very attentive and helpful.
I've been here numerous times before and had a good meal/experience. However, this time was a big miss. I don't know if the fact I brought a Gilt City voucher had anything to do with it but I ordered the veal milanese for my entree and it was just bad. It had no seasoning, only breading with an equally dry arugula salad on top. It tasted like cardboard. We also ordered the octopus which was ok. The only thing good was their Manhattans. I will not be coming back for dinner but I will come back to the bar for drinks.
Food was not outstanding "not a be back" just good
A group of 10 of us went to brunch on a Sunday and we all got the endless bubbles package. Amazing value! The waiter was not too generous on the prosecco and we had to constantly ask for another bottle for our table. Mind you, one bottle would barely fill all 10 of our glasses. Aside from that, the experience was great! He was able to split our checks into 10 too, which is rare with a party that size. The food was amazing too! I tried a truffle pizza that a friend ordered and instantly regretted my order. The poutine was actually tater tots and they were wonderful. I could have just eaten them as my meal. I chose the Benny and it was fabulous. We will definitely go back!
The service was really top notch! We had a great meal, the food was amazing & the ambiance was just perfect. It is a really great spot in River North. Hip & trendy decor, amazing menu, premium service.
Great service. Helpful with recommendations. Very much enjoyed the food and surprise dessert. Would definitely recommend, either alone or with a date.
It was loud due to kids crying and screaming, the waiter was unable to make menu recommendations, and it was priced expensive for what it was.
Asia and her team took great care of us. We had an amazing meal! Everything was delicious. Our server was fantastic and the music was upbeat and fun. We will be back!
Service was friendly but a bit slow and off
We had Christmas Eve dinner at Dolce.
The food was excellent, and we enjoyed
a surprise - professional singers caroling,
in period costumes!
One complaint - a pet peeve of mine - big TV screens in the bar visible from half the seats in the dining room. When I go out for dinner I want to talk with my friends; if I want to watch TV I'll stay home. I avoid places where I can't avoid the screens.
Hands down, one of the finest dining experiences in Chicago!
The food was great. Must get the the pizza. Service was okay took about 15 minutes for our serve to greet us and the wrong drink was brought ultimately a good experience
Have dined here several times and it has been consistently great and is one of our favorite Italian spots n the city. The ambience is great and the service is attentive. I am in love with the Branzino and my wife loves the Pappardelle. Their pasta is all homemade. Their happy hour is something that should not be missed from a quality and price perspective too.
Modern restaurant with a touch of Italian atmosfeer. Great dishes for a reasonable price
Service slow and inattentive. Food just okay. Value for lunch specials was great. Champagne for $3 and $10 for a sandwich and salad.
We have been before and thought it was great, but not this time. I have a feeling this place will be gone in 3 months and it seems as if the staff thinks the same thing. The service was terrible! Our water was never refilled, the server never asked if we wanted more cocktails. He said he would course out, but they brought everything out at one time - apps, pizza and mains. Super strange and beyond bad service. The food was good, but with service like that I would be unwilling to go back.
Thank you, Dolce Italian, for working with me for a surprise birthday dinner! The friendly and helpful staff made sure everything was pulled off without a hitch. The atmosphere, food, wine, and service were all fantastic! Get the ricotta cappelletti! I highly recommended this place.
I had been here before and it was phenomenal. This time I was super underwhelmed. The server was nice but we had asked for our meal to be coursed out and it all came out at once. The food was not nearly as good this time. The ricotta in the Stella pizza was not what it was before. The menus also just looked super cheap which was a noticeable change from when they first opened and it just demonstrated how they've started cutting corners to save money. Probably won't go back after that experience.
It was delicious. Lived the carpaccio. When they say the pizza is spicy... believe them. Great service!
The current lunch special can't be beat! Delicious food and drinks for reasonable prices. My co-workers and I are regulars here and the staff is delightfully pleasant.
One of our favorite places - we brought friends on 11/4 and they really enjoyed it too. Thursdays are great with half-priced wines; all their pastas are delicious and the hangar steak too. Leave room for dessert - especially the gelato with Frangelica. We have also received discount coupons from them as well!
I came here with a girlfriend for an 8pm reservation on a Sunday. It was very quiet but I've been here before when it's much more lively. I ordered a glass of red wine and my friend the mule. I had the charcuterie/cheese plate and my friend the caprese salad. We shared the chocolate cake. Our waiter was attentive and professional and it was really the most perfect place for us to catch up.
I came because I had to use the credit on an expired coupon. I have purchased coupons for this establishment before because I enjoy coming here. It is worth a visit for a nice meet up for drinks.
Delicious, need more menu variety but is really delicious, the service is more than excellent
We love to eat outdoors at this delicious Italian. Restaurant. Wednesday’s are so fun bringing our well behaved pup to the outdoor dining. Staff are so friendly fly bringing special treats for my pet too!
Branzino and eggplant parmigiana were awesome as was the selection of rose wines.
Can’t wait to go back esp because they have patio heaters outdoors. So beautiful
