Consistently the BEST Branzino I've ever had.
The food at Doi Moi was outstanding. The branzino was phenomenal, as were the ribs, the veggie sides, the pork buns, and the cocktails. I will be frequenting Doi Moi again, and I would recommend everyone else does too. Enough said.
The food was awesome and the service was great!! Get the dumplings!!
Everything we got was delicious and the portions were all larger than expected
Had a great meal. The food is creative and tasty. The server and the GM were most attentive. Very interesting wine list. Loved the Calabretta Rose, and the food paired very well with two gems that we brought in -- Knoll Gruner Veltliner and Musar Blanc. The soft serve dessert made with fish sauce was quite good (if you can get past the ingredient). Definitely coming back
Overpriced. Only thing good is the Amish rabbit Khoa Soi out of all 4 dishes we tried.
The food was very good. Definitely plan to return.
Fantastic cocktails. Delicious food. Our server was great at helping us navigate the menu and very helpful answering any questions we had. Will definitely return to try more of the menu.
The last time I ate at Doi Moi was two years ago and it has changed. The food and service were not as good this time.
Quality has deteriorated quite a bit over the years. Used to be a great food experience but this time was very disappointing.
The terrace is very nice, good for people watching. Inside it's kind of cold. You should sit outside in summer. The food is very good and creative. Stuff helpful and ready for the right recommendations. One of the best fusion spots.
Service was great! Very helpful and able to recommend on out requests. Ambiance was great, the patio seating is not on 14th so the noise level and people walking is not overwhelming or intrusive.
Also, the food! AMAZING food and good shareable sizes. Great experience overall!!
I've been to Doi Moi twice and I really like it. The pork ribs, brussel sprouts, and chicken wings were all great. I was not too impressed with dessert. My friends said some dishes were only mediocre but overall this is an interesting menu and decent portion sizes for the price compared to a lot of other DC restaurants of the same calibre.
Great food for everyone--you can share smaller plates or have your own, good cocktails, and always a fun time. Highly recommend their heart of palm curry and their sweet potato custard with sticky coconut rice.
We were at Doi Moi for a friend's birthday and we were not disappointed. The food, service and ambiance were excellent. Such a fun dinner!
Great place to share plates. A bit on the noisy side and service was spotty. But a solid choice on 14th.
We had a great experience at Doi Moi - the food was different and excellent. Wait staff were great, advising on dishes and level of spiciness, which was much appreciated. The carmelized ribs were great and the chocolate dessert was outstanding. We enjoyed eating outside.
The food in my view is overpriced, especially the appetizers. We had the kee mao noodles, which were way too salty and bathed in too much soy sauce, even though they tasted good. The seasonal soft shell crab was all right, and we also ordered the cashews, very spicy. The service was very attentive, which is a bright spot.
I absolutely loved this restaurant. I don't think there was anything on the menu I didn't like. I'll definitely return to this restaurant soon.
Always impeccable food. Great and fast service
Fabulous experience the food was fresh. The scallops, sticky wings, and okra are a must try!
Great veggie options but ask for low spice. We loved the rice noodle dish and the salads we had. Also good drinks.
Having been our 1st experience at Doi Moi, food was outstanding, but is sad to see that such great tastefull presentation of food is not acompanied by atentive waiting service. We wanted to order more things but had no one to request to. Overall we were happy
Always great food and wonderful experience at Doi Moi.
Incredible experience, incredible food
my friend really like the foodes
I would recommend Doi Moi for almost any occasion. The food is great and the ambience is fun - service is kind, genuine and not too invasive. The menu has enough options and is clear. The dishes are beautiful. The only thing I wouldn't rate top are the acoustics. But this is unfortunately true for most places. I wish restaurants/cafés knew that you almost don't need music if you have the right acoustics. But all else: wonderful every time!
Great food, gre
Excellent food and service. Chef Sasha and the rest of the kitchen are turning out exceptional food.
My second time at Doi Moi and I think it just keeps getting better! The rabbit entree and scallop starter are on my list of favorite all-time dishes.
Great food but lousy service and far too noisy. Even though I requested a quiet table when I booked, we were seated in the noisiest part of the restaurant. Then our waiter ignored us for ages, and when we asked if he would take our order he seemed surprised that we would actually order food. Then he told us that despite this being Vietnamese restaurant they had run out of noodles! When he finally deigned to take our order everything arrived at once. The food was mainly excellent but the noise level is atrocious and the staff need better training. Have eaten there several times and this was by far the worst it's been.
This has become one of our all-time favorite restaurants in Washington, it is reliably good with delicious creative food and marvelous, knowledgeable staff. Every once a while I get super busy and the attention could be a bit better but other than that it is a super place to go out especially with friends when you want to try a lot of different dishes
Food was delicious! Chefs are consistent!
Food always creative and different. The Rabbit curry, pork buns, bok choy, apseragus, ribs all delicious. Handcrafted cocktails fabulous. While service is friendly our wine took too long to come to us and our finished dishes should've been bused sooner. All in all we love this place and will be back!!!
The Branzino never disappoints paired with Vegetable Fried Rice and Sautéed Okra...yum yum
Food and service are so good!!
Food was excellent, however, the seating was tight.
Exceptional food & service!
Hands down our most favorite restaurant in the District of Columbia . The menu never disappoints. We were lucky enough on our last few visits to be treated to sample some possible new menu items. The people watching on 14th is awesome too. Plus we've never had a bad waiter. Each staff member more charming then the next. We just love Doi Moi.
Wonderfully spiced food that tastes great and leaves you feeling good afterwards. Love this place
