Dodici Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We had reservations for 7:15 and our party was there promptly. We were told to wait at bar a table would be ready in 5 mins. 40 minutes later the lady tried to sit us by the front door which we were told is a bad location due to the cold. She was a nasty woman and tried to explain but was so phony. They said they needed the open table for a table of 10 which when they came a half hour later had plenty of room. The food was very good. The waiter was great but the lady who sat us and bs us ruined the night. A lot of good restaurants around and unfortunately we won’t be back.
After refusing a table near the door on a cold night we waited another 20 minutes beyond our reservation for a table in the back section. we were seated without menus and were told they didn't have any available. Our table for 4 was set for three, and we were never given water glasses. A busboy later came to fill our missing glasses and looked dumbfounded. We asked for warm bread which never appeared. The food was good but took a long time. The noise level was beyond comfortable, as the dining room is long and narrow and has all hard surfaces that reflect sound. I'll give this 3 stars at best. Now I remember why I haven't been there in about 5 years, I forgot...
Been here before. I was surprised they weren’t as busy as usual but still busy. Turned tables a few times while we were there.
My wife and I made reservations for Saturday evening. We started with a cocktail/glass of wine which was nicely prepared. For appetizer we split the Rice Ball. Delicious, wow, I’m a sucker for good rice balls, lol. My wife had seared tuna and I had the Bronzini served with clams, mussels & escarole. We both completely enjoyed this meal as we usually do. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. A total professional. We skipped desert in lieu of going across the street to the ice cream parlor. Sorry.
This is a great place, food is second to none.
They were very crowded and backed up. We winded up being seated at hour and 15 minutes after our reservation. They comped us a glass of wine, and the hosts were very nice. But once we sat down, the experience got much worse. Our waiter clearly did not care about us, bc we we’re not one of his larger parties. A younger man put some bread down on our table and quickly ran away, but we had to wait 10 minutes to ask for olive oil or butter or anything to eat it with. We also never got napkins and even though we asked didn’t wind up getting napkins til way after our entrees.
Once we did get our entrees.. the waiter didn’t offer us cracked pepper or cheese for our pasta like they do for everyone else and we really wanted them. Now we’re eating red sauce without napkins... finally got them. After we were done, our waiter shouted over to us from a afar asking if we wanted coffee or cappuccino, so we ordered a cappuccino
Went to this restaurant with friends during Restaurant Week. We had a 7:15 reservation. Once seated I asked to see the Restaurant Week menu. I was advised that dinner was regular price after 7. I checked the restaurant website and the Dodici Restaurant Week menu and did not see anything about a cutoff time. I asked our waiter to extend a 15 minute courtesy and he said he could not. I asked to see the manager to make my request directly to her. When she arrived I explained that we had never been to the restaurant and wanted to try it during Restaurant Week. I asked her to extend a 15 minute courtesy and she also stated that she could not. She then advised me that this cutoff time is part of the Restaurant “rules”. I went back to the Restaurant Week website and read the fine print. The only thing I found was a requirement that restaurants offer the price fix meals until AT LEAST 7pm on Saturday evenings. Lying to me- really? In the end we stayed. The food was good but this whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I will not be back, nor will I recommend this restaurant. There’s so many other great restaurants in the area.
We were escorted to the back room. Very cozy. I had informed Dodici that we were celebrating our friend's 60th birthday and would they be kind enough to place a candle in whatever he ordered. They did that and Alfonso brought practically the entire staff to sing Happy Birthday to him. Alfonso was the best. . excellent, over the top service, delicious food. . a perfect evening. Thank you Dodici
Been here many times. Food always great/excellent. Bar cocktail not food. Vodka and soda was flat. The Manhattan was not crafted correctly and was missing bitters. Otherwise service including the bar was excellent. Food excellent. A little noisey but a convivial atmosphere. Great restaurant.
I used to come here always, but tonite I changed my mind I will never come back here ever again, I left 4 tickets of Yankee game on the table when I came back I asked the waiter, busboy , and Lori the manager but nobody saw or Knew anything I know 100 % I left it there ...very disappointed with this restaurant and the staff....I made a police report in order for us to get new tickets...I am hoping the owner check his camera in restaurant to see who took the tickets bc tonite was only few customers and like 4 waiters this happened at dinner time around 7:45pm on 9/28/17
Someone stole Yankee game tickets from my table!!!
The food was good and the waiter was friendly but there was a definite push to up-sell - which i guess could be expected. The problem was towards the end of the meal. My date and I were talking and enjoying ourselves when suddenly it became obvious that they wanted us out. It was late but certainly there were other people in the restaurant and the wait staff made it clear by loudly replacing the the silverware on tables near us. The worst part was (for 2 people with meals costing about $25/ each 2 glasses of wine (one each) and one Cappuccino and one Double Espresso the bill came out to $102 before tax - that is not the worst part. As we were talking a waiter came and never asked if we were done, grabbed the coffee cups from us - very rude. I was sorry that i had added $25 to the bill as a tip.
Bring ear plugs! What a shame. This is really a good restaurant. The food is well-prepared. Sadly, it is beyond noisy. The staff must be going deaf. We might try going really early in the evening, say 5 PM. We had dinner at 7 PM and the noise level was impossibly loud. There were children in the restaurant and I shudder to think what happened to their hearing after 90 minutes there.
Unfortunately, this was not a good experience. We arrived before our friends and were quickly seated after they checked our reservation. The waiter was nice, gave a menu and offered to take a drink order. Soon thereafter, our friends arrived . The maitre'd scrambled over to the table rudely saying "do you have a reservation?" She said, yes I'm with them and the maitre'd looked at us asking if we had a reservation! (Meanwhile we already had drinks and a menu) and I said yes, he asked the. Name and literally ran back to the desk to check (was he going to throw us out?)
The waiter returned, took our order, etc. Once the food arrived, no one came to the table to see if everything was fine. The cannelloni was good;, the ravioli Nona had 4 small ravioli (FOUR), the bronzino special had bones in it ( despite them asking if she wanted it filleted) and the pasta Mediterraneano had plenty of mussels and clams and was a good portion size. The cappuccino was good. Our bill seemed quite expensive for an OK meal, but the rude maitre'd and lackluster service will keep me from returning!
Most of us enjoyed our meals, but the price of the food and drinks was much too high to go back unless it was a special occasion, and I would prefer to pay that much money elsewhere. The service was excellent including singing to the birthday guest at our request.
