They can take a reservation but they can’t keep a reservation! 8pm reservations and we waited for over 1/2 hour. Food was ok but nothInform worth returning to.
This is the second time we came to this restaurant pairing it with a concert nearby. The fact that there is valet parking is a plus. The food and service are outstanding . We shared 2 of the daily special appetizers and they were both special. The burrata was fresh and paired with avocado and greens and the shrimp was served hot with a favorful sauce. We loved that the pasta was made at the table. The porcini mushrooms were delish. Lastly we shared the veal sorrentina and found it tender and served on a bed of spinach. Unfortunately we did not have time for coffee and dessert but decided that we will come back when not under time restraint. Looking forward to our next dinner at Dodici!
Waited 1.5hrs to sit after our rez. Bill was like an honors math test. Italian in ny shouldnt be this complicated.
The greater at the front door is somewhat condescending
While the food is exceptional, the service leaves a lot to be desired. When we arrived, we were seated promptly and bread was brought to our table. Unfortunately, after a wait of 40 minutes, I went to speak with the manager that no one had come by to take our order. While someone did come by shortly thereafter, there continued to be unreasonable wait times for the remainder of the meal. Despite it being Easter Sunday, the restaurant was not overly crowded and these delays were just not acceptable.
Easter. Billy is wonderful
Superb food and service in a gracious environment. Scrumptious offerings in a lovely setting where the service is truly impeccable. Old world elegance in a sea of casual dress. Simply wonderful!
I like this place very much. Everybody is friendly and the food is very good and at a reasonable price. I intend to go back soon.
Food always consistently great! Service, excellent.
The food is always great but the combination of a slow kitchen and poor wait staff makes me wonder why I keep coming back. Our waiter did not come to our table once after taking our order. I am not a fan of restaurants who use runners to serve food.
Great spot. Fun Waiter. Attentive staff. Good drinks. Will go back again
The food was superb as usual. The waiter took and brought our drink orders very quickly but it took a while to place our dinner orders. Aside from that ,everyone raved about the quality of the food. You never disappoint there.
Food was exceptional. Waiter was outstanding.
We love this restaurant and always bring New friends knowing it will be an amazing time
Great food, great service at the table. The hostess had a bit of an attitude when I asked why our seat was taking 20 minutes even though we had a reservation, wasn't the end of the world but she could have been less of a smart *** about it
Always great food, good for special occasions. Restaurant was almost empty, service could have been better.
Service and food was terrific. My friends and I enjoyed ourselves!
The four of us had a 630 reservation today after a show. Our table was ready when we arrived at 615 and we were seated right away. What a pleasant surprise it was the last day of restaurant week and we were given 3 menus, specials-restaurant week-regular. We all ordered off RW menu and it was awesome. I had the fresh mozz arugula prosciutto pizza appetizer and it was the size of a meal itself-took half home. Main course was a seared filet of sole w/ sauteed garlic spinach -outstanding. Also had the filet mingnon/chicken special that was just as tasty. The entire staff was friendly and on point. Look forward to go back soon. Keep up the great work Dodici.
I wasn't sure what to expect, since it was my first time there and it was Saturday night of Restaurant Week. The experience turned out to be perfect, starting with the valet parking service. Parking in RVC is almost impossible, so valet parking was like a Godsend! The young man who parked my car was so nice, and an asset to the restaurant. He took my car immediately and I only had to wait a very short time to get it back after dinner.
The restaurant was very crowded but they seated us right on time. The waiter was very attentive, as well as a few other people who visited our table several times to make sure everything was alright! The food was very good, a great value for your money during Restaurant Week, right down to the delicious cannoli for dessert. We never felt rushed and truly enjoyed dining there to celebrate our friend's birthday. The only complaint was that my friend's kale salad was very small, especially compared to the size of the pizza that was one of the appetizers. That complaint can be easily rectified, I am sure. All in all this was a really nice dining experience and I have already recommended the restaurant to other friends. The next time we are in RVC we will visit Dodici again!
Overrated food was bad and so was the restaurant.
Food was good and authentic, but the noise level was extremely high so it decreased the fun of dining tremendously. Also, I asked the server when placing my main course order is the chicken dish (with steak and sausage) all white meat and he said NO. It turned out to be almost all white meat with a little piece from the leg. That wasn't very nice.
The hostess was courteous and pleasant. She sat us at a romantic table by the window away from everyone else. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and done to perfection. The portions were also perfect. The veal was tender as can be. It practically melted in your mouth. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the pasta was just right. I would gladly recommend Dodici to anyone.
went here first time for Restaurant Week. Great restaurant, great food, great service. I will definitely be back
Went during restaurant week - limited menu but good food with ample portions.
Food was very good. We had a 7:45 reservation and didn't get seated until 9:15. Not acceptable!!!
Yummy food ! Great service! First visit and would definitely go back!
Coctails, food, service
All very good. Wonderful evening
We had reservations for 7:15 and our party was there promptly. We were told to wait at bar a table would be ready in 5 mins. 40 minutes later the lady tried to sit us by the front door which we were told is a bad location due to the cold. She was a nasty woman and tried to explain but was so phony. They said they needed the open table for a table of 10 which when they came a half hour later had plenty of room. The food was very good. The waiter was great but the lady who sat us and bs us ruined the night. A lot of good restaurants around and unfortunately we won’t be back.
After refusing a table near the door on a cold night we waited another 20 minutes beyond our reservation for a table in the back section. we were seated without menus and were told they didn't have any available. Our table for 4 was set for three, and we were never given water glasses. A busboy later came to fill our missing glasses and looked dumbfounded. We asked for warm bread which never appeared. The food was good but took a long time. The noise level was beyond comfortable, as the dining room is long and narrow and has all hard surfaces that reflect sound. I'll give this 3 stars at best. Now I remember why I haven't been there in about 5 years, I forgot...
I have been going to Dodici for years and it has been consistently excellent!
Been here before. I was surprised they weren’t as busy as usual but still busy. Turned tables a few times while we were there.
My wife and I made reservations for Saturday evening. We started with a cocktail/glass of wine which was nicely prepared. For appetizer we split the Rice Ball. Delicious, wow, I’m a sucker for good rice balls, lol. My wife had seared tuna and I had the Bronzini served with clams, mussels & escarole. We both completely enjoyed this meal as we usually do. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. A total professional. We skipped desert in lieu of going across the street to the ice cream parlor. Sorry.
This is a great place, food is second to none.
Outstanding experience. All the service was excellent and kind. Would 100% recommend
They were very crowded and backed up. We winded up being seated at hour and 15 minutes after our reservation. They comped us a glass of wine, and the hosts were very nice. But once we sat down, the experience got much worse. Our waiter clearly did not care about us, bc we we’re not one of his larger parties. A younger man put some bread down on our table and quickly ran away, but we had to wait 10 minutes to ask for olive oil or butter or anything to eat it with. We also never got napkins and even though we asked didn’t wind up getting napkins til way after our entrees.
Once we did get our entrees.. the waiter didn’t offer us cracked pepper or cheese for our pasta like they do for everyone else and we really wanted them. Now we’re eating red sauce without napkins... finally got them. After we were done, our waiter shouted over to us from a afar asking if we wanted coffee or cappuccino, so we ordered a cappuccino
Dinner was very nice we both had pasta dishes which were very good.
As always - excellent service and delicious food is the norm! My husband had the halibut special which was the best halibut dish either of use have tasted. I requested a pasta dish be modified and it was amazing. This is our go to place in RVC!
The food was very good especially the veal chop. Three service was excellent. The markup on bottle wine was much more reasonable than most
Local Italian food restaurant great food, friendly service, and charming ambiance. Loved my bolognese over papardelle and the cheese plate was perfect with a bottle of delicious Nebbiolo. Can’t wait til we next return.
Went to this restaurant with friends during Restaurant Week. We had a 7:15 reservation. Once seated I asked to see the Restaurant Week menu. I was advised that dinner was regular price after 7. I checked the restaurant website and the Dodici Restaurant Week menu and did not see anything about a cutoff time. I asked our waiter to extend a 15 minute courtesy and he said he could not. I asked to see the manager to make my request directly to her. When she arrived I explained that we had never been to the restaurant and wanted to try it during Restaurant Week. I asked her to extend a 15 minute courtesy and she also stated that she could not. She then advised me that this cutoff time is part of the Restaurant “rules”. I went back to the Restaurant Week website and read the fine print. The only thing I found was a requirement that restaurants offer the price fix meals until AT LEAST 7pm on Saturday evenings. Lying to me- really? In the end we stayed. The food was good but this whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I will not be back, nor will I recommend this restaurant. There’s so many other great restaurants in the area.
We were escorted to the back room. Very cozy. I had informed Dodici that we were celebrating our friend's 60th birthday and would they be kind enough to place a candle in whatever he ordered. They did that and Alfonso brought practically the entire staff to sing Happy Birthday to him. Alfonso was the best. . excellent, over the top service, delicious food. . a perfect evening. Thank you Dodici
Food is always excellent. Service is great . Wait Staff is very Friendly and knowledgable
