Great food, great service,on harbor, nice view. Went to celebrate wedding anniversary, great evening
Eight of us who graduated from high school almost 50 years ago meet for dinner twice a year. I have a friend in York Harbor who frequently dines at Dockside with her family. My friend has always spoken highly of Dockside, so I suggested it to my classmates for our September 2017 dinner. We all enjoyed it, and the food was delicious. I expect that we'll return. Thank you.
Highly recommended, but call ahead for reservations. The restaurant will sometimes close for a wedding.
Very disappointing. The boiled lobster was good(can't go wrong there), but risotto was mushy, over powered by garlic, and was placed on top of the salad. If our server had been more attentive( had to ask someone else for bread even), she might have noticed the full plate of risotto. She charged us for it anyway, even after telling her it was not edible. I approached the hostess who erased the charges, bur then literally threw the bill on our table! And did I mention we were celebrating a birthday? And they knew it. I guess the wedding party that they had was paying more! Never again
We come to stay at Dockside Guest Quarters every year and always look forward to dining in their restaurant. Preparations are always excellent with very good wine selections.
We were a little disappointed with our meals. Have been the last couple years and the food was very good. Two of us had a pork tbone chop and although they were large, there was a lot fat and the pork loin was not very tender. The third meal was salmon and was a bit over cooked. The fourth was the exception, a beef dish, and was very good.
I regretted not ordering one of the local fish options which probably would have been better choices.
The desserts were all delicious.
There are nice views of the harbor but unfortunately it was a foggy night.
They have a very good chef this year
Nice play to dine on the water. It's quiet and look nice inside... food is good. However, my waitress was having a bad day. She forgot our bread and my appetizer. She didn't even offer us dessert.
A pleasant location, provided you are given a table by the windows, or ( weather permitting) outside.
Spectacular New England coastal setting. Excellent hospitality, bar with terrace, view of the harbor throughout. Very good food and drink. Adult, contemporary ambience.
Love it here
There for a birthday celebration. The food, staff and view the best.
We have been here for lunch on three different occasions first time we been here for dinner , food was good the service was OK the server could've been a little bit more attentive clearly she was very busy and there seem not to be very many servers working this was the Friday of Labor Day weekend definitely will go back. During the day at lunchtime the view is spectacular it's a must-see of the Maine coast .
Settings is lovely overlooking the water, food was delicious but waitress seemed very nervous.
Maybe she was new. She was nice but nervous and we are not difficult patrons.
Nice place and harbor views made it relaxing. Food and service were great. Would go there again when in the area.
The Haddock was amazing! Can't go wrong with Haddock. Shrimp and Lobster. Perfect view of the York Harbor. Seafood Chowder was also delicious.
Very good. Had run out of Tuna special by 6:30 though. Lucked out with stunning evening!
We had a lovely lobster, succulent and sweet, had good service with out of town friends. We love this place for the view of the harbor. I find the a/c usually too cold but they turned it up when we complained.
Have been here many times. Here for our 31st Wedding Anniversary today. This place is the best kept secret in York. Watching the boats going in and out of the harbor is a great take while eating lunch or dinner. Service and food outstanding.
Dockside is set on a quiet inlet; the views are awesome and very relaxing. The food and service are outstanding. You have to try the fried oyster appetizer.
The food was not good. The wine was awfull. The service vers poor.
I had been there Last year and it was nice. But now I would not recommand this restaurant to anybody.
Very expensive for a vers poor expérience.
Good food. Friendly and efficient service. Good waterfront views. However we found it on the noisy side.
Our family lives in the area and some of us are also in the restaurant business so we are well-versed in local eateries. The Dockside Restaurant is one of our favorites, both for the ambiance (overlooking York Harbor) and the excellent food. The service is excellent with friendly, attentive waitstaff. We recommend it highly.
As long as you're not in a hurry and don't mind chasing the waiters, this place is nice for a meal. Outside on the porch is very nice. However, the wait staff needs some training. We went for a 95th birthday. The waiter didn't even express "happy birthday" much less attend to us. So, don't look for any special attention. They can't handle 6 tables with 4 waiters. The food and ambiance were very good. The staff was awful.
Drunkin Lobster is excellent. The harbor view is beautiful.
Waitress never asked us if we wanted another glass of wine.
This is a wonderful place and am sad that it took us 15 years to get back here. Sitting on the porch area is not only beautiful, but a bit less noise than inside seating. Amanda our server was very attentive and was excellent at explaining different menu options. The food was exceptional. We had 7 in our group and hit all the highlights including the Duck that my 13 year old son said was off the hook. Of course the seafood was fresh and great!! Would highly recommend a visit here next time you are in southern Maine.
Where to start ... I guess the first would be walking in the door and being greeted. Host could have been a lot friendlier.
We had made reservations online and when we got there and inquired about the screened in patio, we were told it was all reserved (although all but 2 tables empty) and that the patio only books 5:30 and 7:30 reservations.
I mentioned that I did not see that option on the online reservation system and was told by the host that "oh ya it's this little teeny option someone on the page, not very visible".
Our reservation was for 4 at 7pm, and as a side note, at least 3 patio tables were unfilled until 8ish. I get it, but don't at the same time.
Second, we did not get a server until having been seated for 10+ minutes. Other wait staff saw us (and it's not like they were 'in the weeds') choose, more like scoffed, at coming over and at the very least filling water and being polite.
When we did get our wait person (Jess I believe) she was very nice, attentive and helpful. Very positive experience. Kudos to her, and in her defense, apparently there as a mix-up and she was not informed about our table.
Third, the food. 2 of our party ordered the steamed 1-1/2 lbs lobster. Soaking wet they may have been a 1-1/2 pounds but I'm skeptical. But for $29.00 with 1/2 ear of corn (REALLY? 1/2 an ear, this is Maine?!!) and a small potato, you've got to be kidding me.
I had the duck, which I wish I could have the "chef" eat. Horrible really. It was really dry and flavorless. A real shame. (FWIW - try doing seared duck breast instead - and MEat in Kittery supplies a great duck breast.) Not worth the $30+ at all.
My wife had the drunken lobster; she enjoyed it, I however did not. Scallops only seared on one side. All in all, our guests enjoyed their lobster and the experience just the same but us not so.
Could be a good place but needs to come out of the 80's/90's and bring everything up a notch or 5 IMO.
Wonderful little gem in York Harbor! Have had lunch here many times. Never disappoints!! Beautiful views...great food.
We ate outside on the screened in patio. Terrific dinner. Would recommend the restaurant and will return on our next visit to the area.
We went to the Dockside while visiting the York Harbor area because it offered nice waterfront views and excellent food. It did not disappoint - we loved the food, had a great view even from inside, and the service was first class as well.
Had the Cod special was wonderful. Great service, great view.
Celebrated my wife's and her sisters birthday Saturday night. Seated immediately, great menu and good, very good service, can't beat the location and the view. Highly recommend!
Our meals were fantastic; I always end up getting the baked stuffed lobster because it's delicious, huge, and a great value! My wife got the Harris Island Haddock, which is her favorite too! Great service (Thanks, Delaney!) and reasonable prices! Our only regret? Going to a different restaurant the night before! Should have gone to Dockside both nights of our getaway!
This is my fifth time dining at Dockside. The decor has been updated as well as the menu.
Waterfront setting us beautiful.
Clean upscale dining with many good choices of seafoods
Would recommend for everyone except maybe not the best choice for families with children
Have been here many times. The food and the view are among the best in York, Maine.
Great Staff, attractive, competent, & friendly. Delicious meal and Peaceful scenery.
We had a very enjoyable evening! The view was beautiful and the food was amazing!!
Dockside is always a great place to eat-will not disappoint.
