Dockside Restaurant on York Harbor
The approach to the Dockside Restaurant is all part of the Dockside’s charm. You are treated to views of the York River and the grand “summer cottages” as you turn onto Harris Island Road to reach Dockside Restaurant.
Chef Dennis la Planet has been recognized as a “chef’s chef”. North Atlantic seafood prepared with a northern Italian influence and aged steaks are just the start. Lunch features organic salads, creative sandwiches and traditional favorites; fish and chips, chowders and fried clams too
The food was delicious! I was very pleased with the effort they have put in to accommodate patrons during the pandemic.
Wonderful like always. One of the best.We love it there,
Everything was great . The food , service and ambiance were perfect.
Delicious!!! Been going for years and always enjoy. Sat outside for the first time and unfortunately was getting eaten alive by mosquitoes at the end of the meal. A wick mention to our waitress and we were quickly relocated inside.
Say for over 25 minutes without even being acknowledged we were there. This was after we saw 2 desperate waitress’ waiting tables next to us. We just left.
We started off with a couple of apps. The Caesar salad was very good.the onion soup was good but certainly not the best you've ever had as advertised. Our main courses were excellent to outstanding. Ernie's baked stuffed lobster was fantastic. Loved the large Maple scallops on top of the lobster that was a neat trick! Richard had the short rib on the bone, which wild very good was a little overpowered by the liquid smoke flavoring. Ann's stuffed haddock was excellent.I didn't want to get my hands dirty so I had the drunken lobster which I usually have. As usual it was outstanding.I think the next time though I'm going to get my hands dirty and get that big stuff lobster it really look good! Price wise it came out to $187 before tax, which is really not a bad price considering the quality and the portion size.sitting out in the deck was excellent we usually try to do that anyway and last night it was nice and cool. The day before and been around 90° so this time it was perfect.pretty much one of the best restaurants in that local area the only other one that compares and it does very a little bit would be the York harbor inns restaurant. Sometimes the food there could be a little inconsistent, though they do have an outstanding lobster Newburg.the big difference was the baked stuffed lobster was $41. The lobster Newburg over at York harbor Inn is about $90 big difference! we highly recommend dockside and will be back there again sometime in the next month or so.
Beautiful setting overlooking YorkHarbor
Both my husband and I ordered the short ribs. Unfortunately, this time they were not as delicious as other times. My husband, being a chef himself, said that there was way too much liquid smoke on them. Neither one of us could finish the portion due to that reason.
Wonderful as usual!
Amazing experience! We will definitely be back. The quality of food and service were superb not to mention the wonderful view!
Excellent meal as always. Beautiful setting. Highly recommended.
Great food, beautiful scenic spot, excellent service.
We had a very good time. They did an excellent job given the limitations due to Covid
Great view great food. Just a little tricky finding if you are not familiar with area.
Delicious meal and great service
The food was great and the views are amazing.
Our entire experience from the hostess who greeted us, our waitress, the amazing food and view were top notch. We could not of asked for a better experience. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Beautiful spot on York Harbor. Screened porch for our first pandemic outside dining. Fabulous.
Our first restaurant dining experience since the Covid-19 outbreak and everything was perfect. The views are just gorgeous. We felt very safe and well attended to. Our server Emilyn was a pleasure. All three of us enjoyed our meals, the scallop special, shrimp with linguine and baked haddock. Everything was fresh and delicious! So glad we chose Dockside!
Given the new social distancing rules Dockside did a fantastic job!
Great time with friends
Excellent meal and a beautiful setting to enjoy it. Wonderful as always.
The Dockside was our first choice for dining outdoors after the long lockdown period. We arrived for our lunch reservation and had the choice of sitting on the screened porch or the open deck. We chose the deck and were seated socially distanced from one other couple. What followed was perfect, from the view to the service and the food! We couldn’t have chosen a better place to finally feel a semblance of normalcy and peace in this sad and crazy world.
Can't say enough good things about our experience! First night out for 3 months and all local restaurants were booked so we ventured out and SO glad we did. We were running 30 min late for our reservation because we went to the WRONG restaurant (apparently there is a Dockside in Alton Bay, be careful!), but they were SO accommodating. No pressure or rush even though we showed up 15 min past last reservation time and were one of 2 couples on the deck. The view was AMAZING and the ambiance was stunning. We were bummed that the full menu wasn't available at first, but another blessing in disguise as their takeout menu was incredible. The crabcakes were great..amazing flavor and texture and the sauce was killer. The truffle fries were brilliant. My wife ordered the Fish Burrito (basically a big fish taco wrap) which we both enjoyed and i got the Tornadoes of Beef which sounded cool and tasted even better. Topped with sauteed mushrooms and a side of grilled asparagus and potatoes au gratin which was like a little potato lasagna. And the S'mores cheese cake :O. My mouth is watering thinking about it all again. The service was perfect and it was just a great night through and through. We will definitely be back to try out their full menu when things get back to full service. That is, if we can resist coming back sooner.
Awesome. Great food. Happy to get out of house
Lovely dinner on the deck. Views are awesome of the harbor. And beautiful grounds. Diverse menu, except limited vegan options. Great job with social distancing
Dockside opened last week with outside patio and porch dining and they did a wonderful job with social distancing, masks etc...The food was superb as usual!
We were surprised that there were no other diners there at 5:45 when we arrived, but two other parties arrived shortly after. The eggplant flatbread was a tasty appetizer, and the shrimp linguini with spinach was outstanding. My friend enjoyed the haddock dinner very much, but remarked that the fish was a little overcooked for her liking. The lemon cheese cake was exceptional, and though my friend is not a fan of cheese cake she was able to thoroughly enjoy the berries and whipped cream. Alisha, our server was fun and attentive.
We stayed at the Dockside Guest Quarters for a night on our way to Acadia National Park and just loved it! We were glad that they had this nice restaurant on their grounds and were able to make an online reservation when we booked. Very nice local seafood meal with great service. The view of York Harbor makes for a very nice setting! Highly recommend!
The food and atmosphere was perfect. Our server Michelle was delightful & knowledgeable. My husband and I enjoyed a delicious meal by candlelight overlooking the gorgeous harbor view. We will definitely come back with friends/family. Thank you!
As always, fantastic fresh food, great service, and a setting that cannot be beat! Our Texas guests were so happy with the venue and the traditional Maine food selection!
Absolutely wonderful all-around
Our waiter, Ryan, was very nice and efficient and everyone was very welcoming and helpful with our very elderly guests. Thank you for helping us to have a memorable evening.
Great location and tasty food. Hostess and waiter were friendly and helpful
The location is nice. The bar staff need a little work on the mixology skills, drinks were not made with right proportions. Swordfish tasted great and generous portion, the rice was dry and flavorless. Waitstaff is either overworked or disinterested, very mechanical interactions with not a hint of friendliness. Reasonable prices but many other places locally with more ambiance.
Nice restaurant. Great service. My wife had a very tasteful filet of haddock. I had a very disappointing overcooked, dryed out duckling a la orange with dry herbal stuffing. Or maybe it was old crow.
We loved the relaxed feel and beautiful harbor view. Lobster and scallop saute and shrimp linguini were top notch. This place knows how to cook sesfood perfectly
Great food and great view! Only thing is I ordered the salmon from the regular menu and she brought me out the salmon that was on special! It had a different glaze and it came with different vegetable but she had them make me asparagus! I didnt want the Brussels sprouts that came with it! She took care of it though
Great atmosphere, food was excellent and the servers were attentive.
Clientel very courteous and helpful, server was friendly and prompt. We had a combination of entre's and appetizers all were very good
