Dockside Restaurant & Brewing Company
The open dining room is relaxed yet refined, wrapped in spectacular floor to ceiling windows, while the lounge offers warm intimate surroundings for evening cocktails. The award-winning patio catches sunlight from morning to late afternoon. Protected on three sides it’s an oasis of calm, disturbed only by the occasional sound of boats making their way along False Creek. Recent renovations have added fireplaces and casual seating areas to this Vancouver destination.

With the value of what we spent during an evening out with friends, the service was slow and the food was not as spectacular as it use to be. Dockside has been known for exceptional service and food since I’ve been going to this restaurant, however, during our evening there this past Saturday, it has gone to a decline and was very disappointing to say the least. My risotto looked and tasted like a microwaveable dinner and my partners halibut was dry as a rubber. Not impressed!
Due to weather, we couldn’t be outside, but indoors was well-spaced. Good care taken for Covid restrictions. The frittata was delicious as was the Caesar. Friendly, helpful service.
i didn't have food, and the review demands a star rating for it! so i guess this review is not that helpful,...
that being said, i sat in lounge area outside, and service was great, the drinks were a bit disappointing as these days you would expect the correct glass for your order from a place like this. so the presentation needs work specially from the bar side of things!
No chicken, on the menu. The waitress was pleasant. Sparkling water should also be offered in house no extra charge.
We booked outdoor seating (as we have a number of times) and on arrival were told this was not available (quite rudely I may add). If outdoor seating was no longer available the restaurant should have called to give us the option to cancel. If we had known outdoor seating wasn’t available we would have gone elsewhere.
Too bad as our usual experience at Dockside is very good.
The server was absolutely wonderful! Very attentive and kind. Excellent food and wine!
We celebrate our wedding anniversary at the Dockside every year. The staff are impeccable and the food is a delight. I think the restaurant actually has a special sauce: great team management.
We had an attentive server and the food was very good. A pleasant long lunch!
The servers were great and very friendly. The food overall was delicious! We definitely loved the oyster sandwiches and the mini donuts.
I was very disappointed with the service from the hostess Courtney when we arrived. I had made a reservation for 2 under the canopy if Possible (I am allergic to the sun) When my friend arrived ahead of me she was placed on the concrete slab - without an umbrella. When I arrived and saw where we had been seated I went to Courtney and asked why with a 2-week reservation we wouldn't have had more consideration? She was rude and condescending and said there are no guarantees for the canopy area. After a discussion, I returned to my table and she came by about 5 minutes later and again "with attitude" announced she was making an exception and gave us a table under the canopy (there were at least 5 tables at this time)
The server was in a difficult position and did try to make the best of it but she also had a bit of an edge.
I live in the area, and love your restaurant and being in real estate am always happy to recommend the restaurant/hotel to clients.
I look forward to a pleasant visit in the near future.

The location is very nice but our table was situated behind a curtain hanging from a pergola so you had to lean forward or backward to take in the beautiful view. The food was average, thought it would be superior and the service was good. We did witness a busboy wipe down/sanitize (Covid) a table and chairs very poorly, missing spots and half heartedly doing so. Didn't give us much reassurance as to whether ours was properly cleaned. The servers wore face shields rather than masks which probably don't do much to protect patrons or other staff members. Go if you like a nice view and maybe you'll order a tastier dish.
Took a friend for a birthday lunch and it was absolutely delightful! Comfortable seating, lovely day, wonderful view, cheerful service and the food was delicious! A lovely way to celebrate a birthday.
Very pleasant outdoors!
Love those Sticky Pork belly bites!
We always enjoy sitting dockside at Dockside! The view, ambience and service round out the experience.
Beautiful setting! Wonderful dining experience. Very comfortable with the Covid protocols in place. Highly recommended!
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes.
We enjoyed a beautiful day out on the patio the weather was warm and sunny the views were spectacular and the food was great. I don’t like posting negative comments or reviews under present circumstances while we are all living through challenging times with Covid etc. however we were slightly taken back underwhelmed by the cool reception at the front when we first arrived. Our server was friendly and pleasant although there were constant waits of 10-15mins between each service call for things like getting the right menu, ordering and serving drinks, etc. The leisurely day, scenery and people watching helped to pass the time make up for the waits in between.
The space has potential to be a bit more lively but it felt quiet as faint music in the background did not manage to drowned out other tables even with distancing.
We have been here numerous times, although the menu is not as extensive as usual it was still excellent. No complaints on the quality of their food.
The deck is awesome, deserves being voted best deck in Vancouver many years in a row.
Service was disappointing this time around. Our server was not very attentive. Was also celebrating my birthday which was on the reservation and mentioned to the Server, but no mention through the meal.
I’m sure that was a one off, I hope, and we will return.
Always a fantastic place... and was very comfortable/felt secure with their COVID protocols.
Patrick was amazing!
Highly recommended, amazing service and fantastic food
The view is unbeatable, and the service was excellent. I had the Nicoise Salad, which was a sizeable salad and nicely prepared - the soft cooked egg was cooked and presented perfectly. The only request would be blankets (not in the time of Covid, I guess) or a patio heater because our table was in the shade and I was quite cold in my summer dress.
Totally felt safe despite COVID. Would definitely go again.
EVERYTHING Perfect! Service,Food,Sangria;Will return!
Our server made the experience great. Super friendly and outgoing and the food was delicious and the outdoor patio is great!
Everytime I come from Vancouver Island I take my cousin’s daughter to the Dockside. She has been going there since she was 3 months old. She is now 4 and had her first Shirley Temple.
Wonderful food in a beautiful setting. Would highly recommend!
Visited for first time mid August with friends and had a top notch experience therefore wanted to return bringing my family to celebrate my fathers and brothers' birthday. Disappointed with the service at the beginning - my father is elderly and had just turned his chair around on the patio to look out at water (we were seated in waterfront lounger chairs/table) and was told he was not allowed to alter chair - he didn't move it except to face it the other way....no closer to any other table. The server was very curt with him and rude....he's 76. Disappointed with the happy hour menu - we arrived early and ordered meals...stayed later into the happy hour to enjoy the scenery and the options were limited, expensive and disappointingly small to share. Wanted to order more than one bottle of wine however disappointed with the first pink viognier and wanted to sample a different bottle before spending another $50+ on it. Now probably will not return; will try others in the area. Originally from South Surrey/White Rock area and don't come out this way much so looking for an overall exceptional experience.
Excellent ambiance, splendid location and view, great service, and fantastic lunch menu !
We are celebrating our 25th anniversary! Great food and excellent service as usual!
Best place to have lunch---beautiful deck with heaters & awnings available on request, excellent food, wonderful service and absolutely amazing views.
Was disappointed in Salmon Salad special. Asked waiter before ordering whether greens would be made up of lettuce (leafy, romaine) rather than arugula and bitter "weeds". He checked, came back and said there was romaine in it. Well, I found one spine of romaine. I ate the salmon with the peach salsa, which was good but left most of the greens.
The Nicoise salad was not very good. It lacked flavour. Otherwise, our other meals were very good. The waitress took the salad off the bill.
The lamb was good but I was quite surprised the $46.00 cost. I wouldn’t have purchased this meal if our waiter had mentioned prices while explaining the specials.
We were also charged for 2 glasses of wine which we didn’t order and had removed before I paid.
Service was slow, food excellent. Most tables don’t have a view.
Food and ambiance was delicious as usual, however it seems like an all new staff that came across as quite inexperienced. I was approached to clear my plate when there was still 1/4 of my dish on it and I had been eating for less than 20 minutes. My cutlery had actually been taken away when they were clearing other dishes leaving me with food I was unable to eat.
The beer we ordered was flat, and it took quite some time to be approached to be able to order another.
Ultimately, It was a fail as a stop on my birthday and I’m not sure if I’ll be back. I spent half the time there calling around to find a table at nearby lounges to shift myself and my guests to.
Strange way they conduct service, on weekends... they have a brunch menu that you can only order from until 3pm, then happy hour only from 3-5 and from 5 on do they actually service full food items. It’s a confusing and touching quiet a few menu scan photos. We had 5 at one time on our table, it’s a bit much. Brunch, beverage, HH and then dinner menu to ask for.
Patio is beautiful, really nice setting.
Service was slow, but it was pretty busy and they seemed short staffed.
Food was just OK, the burger was very disappointing. It was clearly not a homemade beef patty, no flavour, and over cooked.
No one even asked how we enjoyed the food. I did eat the tomato, lettuce, etc from the burger and left the beef patty on plate.
I would not recommend eating here, but drinks are OK.
