Dockside Restaurant & Brewing Company
The open dining room is relaxed yet refined, wrapped in spectacular floor to ceiling windows, while the lounge offers warm intimate surroundings for evening cocktails. The award-winning patio catches sunlight from morning to late afternoon. Protected on three sides it’s an oasis of calm, disturbed only by the occasional sound of boats making their way along False Creek. Recent renovations have added fireplaces and casual seating areas to this Vancouver destination.
Excellent customer service, and quality food for the price.
A lovely place to have a meal. Scenic and casual however my meal of crab cakes tasted very fishy and were not good at all. The mussels were lovely as well as the Caesar salad.
Loved the view! Food and service were great
We had a lovely ladies lunch on the patio admiring the beautiful view. The food and service was excellent!
Wonderful service, delicious food and an amazing patio!
Love the servers! They are friendly and efficient (and Irish accents don’t hurt, either!). The view from the patio is magnificent.
The food was very slow, fries were cold and the steak was no done as requested. Very pricey for a salad.
We were meeting friends from India that we hadn’t seen in 10 years. Everyone in the restaurant was quite excited and wanted it to be special. The fish and chips were highly battered and greasy. Not to their liking. Only one menu choice for vegans. Otherwise it was wonderful.
Upon entering Dockside, we were immediately greeted by friendly staff and were led to an outside table with an uninterrupted, spectacular, water view. Our server strategically placed an umbrella to shade us from the sun. Our lunch was delicious and the service impeccable. I look forward to returning!
We waited 30 minutes and they brought the wrong food, not so tasty
We had made a reservation for 8pm, our table wasn't ready so we waited at the bar. When we sat down there was only a manager behind the bar and he didn't greet us, he was actually behind the bar for a few minutes and then just walked away leaving the bar unattended and not saying anything...was odd.
Once we got our table, the server was very prompt. I had asked about switching out the potato sides on my entree for an alternative. The only one she gave was extra veg, no potatoes. I discovered they had warm potato salad as another side to an entree and asked if my mashed potatoes could be switched and she said no. I recognized that you could order both types of potatoes separately as a side dish and noticed it cost more, I offered to pay the difference it was still a no. What bothered me was she didn't even check and couldn't tell me why. So I stopped the manager and asked why I couldn't switch, he said they "don't really accommodate order changes and that the kitchen is to busy for that tonight".
I was surprised, usually such a small request is easy to manage and makes the customers visit that much better and worth talking about to friends.
The meals overall had great flavour and were a healthy portion. Server lost her attentiveness once she found out I spoke with the manager it felt like. It was nothing to do with her, just wanted to know why...
I would recommend food and location to friends, I would not recommend for service.
Had an early dinner by the harbor. The setting is wonderful as they have outdoor seating by the water. Dinner menu wasn't available as it was too early so had two orders of the crab cakes as were delicious. Made with a few kinds of crab. Excellent service. If rainy, ask for a table near the window by the water. Hope to be back soon.
our server was making excuses about the cold food, said he could not fix it and blamed it on the kitchen, we were not impressed w him at all. He could not offer a vegetarian option in place of sausage and bacon. Not very imaginative.perhaps a side salad? well that was our idea but he said no he couldn't do it so my friend had to change her order.
As I go there often I still like the patio ambiance and usually the food is pretty good.
Perfect poached eggs and the best roasted potatoes I've ever had -- a great brunch!
Usually this restaurant with its waterfront views, comfy patio and glass walls and is as delightful in gastronomic as it is in visual pleasure, however, the time we were disappointed in the menu offerings of both food and drinks. We found the food menu limited - oh, when will the trend towards nouveau cuisine be over- and the wine-by-the-glass and cocktail selection uninspiring. The one favourite beer ordered by one us was out of stock (due to a delivery of a bad batch, we were told). The noise level where we were seated in the low ceiling section was high, true, it was a busy night with quite a few parties of diners but I think that the acoustics could be improved by incorporating some acoustic baffles to dampen the sound levels that having all that glass intensifies. All in all a disappointing birthday celebratory dinner out! It may be a long time before we will choose Dockside again for dinner. Maybe we'll stick to brunches.
Amazing service, food, and atmosphere. Hard to find anything to complain about at Dockside!
I enjoyed the food, it has improved lately, I understand there is a new chef . Our waiter was not very attentive so the service was medium at best. I would recommend Dockside for the patio and the food.
This restaurant rarely disappoints. Great service and excellent food. Adult oriented -not a children’s restaurant. Love the outside patio when the weather permits.
Been here numerous times. Previous visit took 1.5 hours to get our meal.
This time came for special event(Anniversary), and requested patio. Were seated quickly on patio in shade and worst possible location. Requested to move to sunshine and better view of False Creek. Server reluctantly helped us move. Food was subpar at best; lack of flavor specifically.
Ultimately your patio view can only take you so far. I won't be back anytime soon - much better options in Vancouver.
Late Mother’s Day Lunch. Mom’s favorite restaurant and it always delivers. Disappointed that a “cup” of soup wasn’t available anymore. The main course and the shared desserts were great.
The wagyu beef carpaccio was a bit bland and could use a bit more flavour. The chilli squid was my favourite dish. Usually restaurants give you complimentary dessert/champagne for a special occasion, as I was kind of expecting here at a more up-scale restaurant, but they didn’t which was disappointing. Our food took about an hour long to arrive. Everyone who was seated after us got theirs before us. Unacceptable wait time.
Poor grade of prime rib with cold yorkshire, overcooked crab cakes, very, very salty clams and chorizo.
Very noisy. Needs drapes or carpets or something to muffle sound.
Had a delicious lunch. Really good service. Restaurant was not too busy so the noise level was low, which was much appreciated. Also the parking was a breeze.
We had a lovely unhurried lunch on the heated patio. I had not seen my sister in many months and am hard of hearing. I appreciated the low noise level and not being seated cheek by jowl. Our server was attentive but not intrusive.
The location, ambiance, food quality price and service made my birthday dinner one to remember, would recommend it to anyone and will definitely be coming back myself whenever I am in town.
Excellent hidden gem with a great view, fantastic food, vegetarian options and ambiance.
We were on the outside patio and it was a beautiful evening. We loved looking at the Marina. We will return!
Our server was great, made us feel at home. We will definitely be back in summer.
Wonderful location and great food. Sadly no apple cider available on the day
Fantastic view from the patio, delicious food, attentive service. Also, took our two little kids with us and they enjoyed it! Shirley temples ($2 each) for the kids kept them busy at the beginning and later when they became restless we took them to the actual dockside walkway (just a very short walk from our table) to look at the boats and stare down at the water. I'd definitely say it's a family-friendly restaurant.
It was a beautiful Vancouver day and Dockside has the perfect setting by the water. We had the perfect table not on the deck but just inside where all the doors are open. Food was good and our server was friendly and attentive. Need to get back as often as I can this summer.
The food, service and people were amazing! Thanks for a wonderful awesome evening! Well needed for a girlfriends birthday!!
Their food is really bad for their location. They have a top location but their food is pub quality :(
Never understood Persian owners. Y r they so behind???
We had out if town guest and wanted to experience great food with a fantastic view. View and service was excellent. The food however has gone downhill. The prime rib was a complete disappointment. We won’t be coming back.
We had a lovely lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the food, the service, and the view
Amazing food, service...CANNOT go wrong coming here
Great setting/atmosphere on a beautiful sunny evening. The waiter (Nathan) was excellent and very accommodating. The food was very good and service was prompt. The Coconut Milk Cheesecake was heavenly.
The only complaint was the Zucchini Ribbons dish was lukewarm.
I do have a question about the bar policy. We each ordered a 9 oz. glass of the wine special (1 red, 2 white) and were told they could pour a 6 oz. glass or we could order a bottle but they could not pour a 9 oz. glass. This seems like a strange policy as we each had a 6 oz. glass so they actually sold less.
It is a wonderful place to meet a friend!! The views are spectacular and service is always good!!
Awesome place to go for lunch or dinner. Great food, amazing service and the setting is second to none. A true waterfront experience in Vancouver.
