Dockside Restaurant & Brewing Company
The open dining room is relaxed yet refined, wrapped in spectacular floor to ceiling windows, while the lounge offers warm intimate surroundings for evening cocktails. The award-winning patio catches sunlight from morning to late afternoon. Protected on three sides it’s an oasis of calm, disturbed only by the occasional sound of boats making their way along False Creek. Recent renovations have added fireplaces and casual seating areas to this Vancouver destination.

I would NOT recommend. (the kitchens fault mostly). Everything took forever to get and the manager just came out I make an excuse that they were “overwhelmed” and there was “nothing he could do about it”.
The food came out all wrong after waiting 2 hours for it. Prime rib came out well done when asked for Med-rare. Pasta was Cold. Chicken was swimming in watery sauce.
Servers were VERY nice and respectful and I really wish they didn’t have to work at such a shameful establishment.
Broken glass 3 times from the waitress, food wait for too long, more than an hour.
We had a wonderful young waiter, Jared, who was highly attentive and accommodating, the only redeeming feature of the evening. At the beginning of the evening our waiter sent over someone to help us with our wine choices; unfortunately, the gentleman, while very polite, knew nothing about wine. The wine selection, by the glass, was non-descript. The food was deplorable. The cauliflower was soggy, and I think deep fried. The veggie rolls were deep fried and tasteless. Our green salad was mediocre.
The view of the water from the deck is one of the nicest in the city.
Excellent food! Really excellent! The servers seemed young and inexperienced and a couple of them had no issue complaining to each other in front of the guests - it would have been a 100% top notch experience - gorgeous, excellent food, waterfront etc. The servers sadly brought it down a notch
Best patio on Granville Island
Patio is great. View is beautiful. Food is really good. Service was pretty bad. Slow, have to ask for things more than once, but people were friendly.
Everthing we ordered was sold out!!
Strawberry blonde cocktail
This is a place we come to every couple of months. It is our go to place for lunch!!
Loved the location of the table, the view of the water, the service, the fish chowder and caesar salad. I enjoy eating at Dockside and do so often if I am in the neighborhood.
I rated the restaurant four star because of its beautiful setting - it feels like you are at a resort with the boat and water views - Celebrated Father's Day dinner - we had to wait a long time for our dinner, not sure what the situation was but since we have been here before, more than once and were served in a timely manner, I think it was just a unique situation. The weather was beautiful and view etc. made the wait enjoyable. My son and I had the beef tenderdloin which was very good, although I preferred the gnocchi they previously served to the churro as it is deep fried and people are more health conscious these days.
Fathers Day brunch. 8 diners had a great meal out on the deck in the sunshine. It was a lovely afternoon all around!
Fabulous eggs Benedict and the potatoes were amazing ...excellent 𝙿𝚎𝚛𝚜𝚘𝚗𝚊𝚕 service
The setting of this hotel/restaurant is awesome. The food was good as was the service. Would definitely go back for lunch/dinner.
Had a very nice time. Olivia ( our server ) was very attentive and caring.
Better coordination between front hostess desk and Open Table is needed.
- Wonderful scenery dining on the patio on a perfect night
-Loved watching the yachts, kayaks, and sailboats on the water with the city skyline in the background
- Food was delicious but portions were somewhat small
-Our server was delightful with lots of personality and very attentive
We were attending the Vancouver Gay Men’s Chorus at Performance Works.
Very good experience for ambiance, food and service
Nice atmosphere on the heated patio. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was average to above average.
Had to wait 45 minutes before we flagged down a waiter to ask if we could order our meal. She said she was waiting a different section, but would go get our waiter. She came back saying that he was too busy, but she would take our orders. After that, she had our food to us promptly, as one of our patrons had to leave early. She was very polite and took good care of us.
Went for brunch with my mom and my son. Food was good, highly recommend the legendary chili squid appetizer. Service was great. Throughly enjoyed the second visit there. Was hoping for the main part of the restaurant but that was booked for private event(wedding). Will definitely return when on town again.
We were celebrating 2 birthdays among friends. It is a yearly tradition and one of our favourite places is Dockside. This time we had a wonderful waiter, Juan Mataha, who served with charm, humour and attention. The day was made perfect with the outside decor, soft seating with a little overhead heating. Another wonderful celebration!
Met two girlfriends for lunch. The food was good. Our server was nice and attentive. Because the restaurant was being used for a private party I was called in advance and told we would be seated in the lounge - but would still have a view of the marina. When we arrive they tried to burry us in the back / dark part of the lounge. With a bit of a push they gave us a table at the window. There were three open. The setting is why we go to the dockside. Valet parking was a disaster- their sign was out but no service. We were told to park our own car and come back in an hour. This is the typical poor service the Granville Island Hotel is known for. I don’t know why they don’t step it up - it all comes down to the management and what they value.
We used to go to Dockside every couple of weeks for a family get together over lunch. Since we have moved away from the area we go less often but we still enjoy the atmosphere and the food.
We had a beautiful table near the window to enjoy my mom’s 71st birthday with family. Everyone loved it, the service was great, food was good and the lunch time lighting was beautiful for photos (added bonus!)
The Dockside Restaurant & Brewing Company has a limited and specialized menu. Prices are moderate, the food is good but not great. It is definitely not a place for a quiet conversation; the acoustic environment is all hard surfaced thus quite noisy.
Overall, it's a fine place for tourists and those locals who like a lot of commotion.
Our server was quite good, very helpful, and reasonably attentive.
I would give it 3.5 "Stars" out of 5.
It was just not my type of place, but it may be yours!
Very good waiter.
We had visited before and enjoyed a sunny outdoor lunch, but were very pleasantly surprised by the menu, service and delicious and beautifully presented option when inside on an overcast day.
Our out of town guests were delighted as well!
First time here at this restaurant and in Canada! I had the zucchini "pasta" and it was delicious! I paired it nicely with a glass of their Malbec. However, I did add chicken to my meal and it was way overdone. Super dry and flavorless. In the restaurant's defense, they offered to make me a new one, but I loved that pasta, was starving and didn't want to wait. Their coconut cheesecake was sublime! The ingredients tasted fresh. Their service is AMAZING. I truly enjoyed my meal at the bar (despite the chicken) & watched a little hockey. It does get really cold if you're sitting by the open doors- so bring a shawl or a jacket.
Happy to move us to a sunnier location
The Dockside Restaurant & Brewing Company puts on a wonderful dining experience; good food combined with excellent service!
Vacation. The Portobello Fries were excellent. The salmon burger was excellent as well.
30th Wedding Anniversary Breakfast
Exceptional evening with a couple of girlfriends. Would absolutely dine again.
Had been there many times. The zucchini pasta there was impressive.
Fish and Chips were good but question the white dip it had funny taste not like the dip or sauce normally associated with Fish so left because I thought it was spoilt and did not risk getting sick.
We enjoyed discussions with our server as well as your staff. Very friendly staff. We celebrated our birthdays in style. Keep up the friendly atmosphere as this is a rare thing to experience.
We will be back to visit.
It was wonderful! The server, the view, the coffee. All great
Long weekend calls for patio dining and Dockside has one of the best. Lunch featured sausage with wild mushroom pizza that was popular among the patrons. Couldn’t pass up halibut in season with assorted vegetables. Farm to table fresh and lovely presentation, friendly staff and great city line view. Hope to be back and check out more entrée options.
it was a Girl Friend get together to catch up and we only had appetizers but they were Good and the Server was Good so no complaints except maybe the tables were a little close so the noise level went up as it got busier. Would not recommend it for a date.
