Dockside Restaurant & Brewing Company
The open dining room is relaxed yet refined, wrapped in spectacular floor to ceiling windows, while the lounge offers warm intimate surroundings for evening cocktails. The award-winning patio catches sunlight from morning to late afternoon. Protected on three sides it’s an oasis of calm, disturbed only by the occasional sound of boats making their way along False Creek. Recent renovations have added fireplaces and casual seating areas to this Vancouver destination.
Food took forever and was barely warm, mediocre for price range....lots of better options out there
Lunch menu bettee than dinner menu. Eg improve prime rib.
Just a lovely weekend away here at Granville Island
Our group of 8 had an excellent breakfast experience at Dockside. The staff were very congenial and professional, the food was superb, and the ambience was totally delightful.
Both the service and the food were mediocre at best.
Wonderful location and views. Friendly and prompt service.
Food was nicely presented and portions were great.
Nice flabour combinations.
Service and ambience were great. Based on this, would recommend for a date night or celebration. Food was hit and miss (we went here for dine out), in particular, the chicken (it was like a fried piece of cutlet and it was dry). The Korean spiced arancini and lamb was done very well, however. They also forgot to give us our dessert so we never got to try the chocolate creme brulee or the apple tart.
The food is always reliable and in the summer it is my go to place for patio dining - the view is awesome!
I came here for dine out and I was severely disappointed. After looking at pictures and reading reviews I was so excited to go when I first came the host was rude and unfriendly. The Arancini and risotto were both very bland and unflavourful, my partner who has worked in restaurant for years and who is also in culinary school agreed. We had to put salt on out food to even make the food the least but flavoured, the risotto was so oily it almost wasn’t even risotto because there was no sauce or cream. The only part of the dinner that we enjoyed was the dessert. For a nice restaurant the service wasn’t good, I’ve received better service at white spot. Overall my experience was disappointing and I would not recommend to anyone.
I used to love coming here years ago now the atmosphere and food were not up to par!!
The staff was great; food was disappointing(vegetables almost raw, not colourful, lots of deep fried items) it is understandable that participating at Dine out means smaller sizes etc, but I see it as advertisement to show what the restaurant is able to do and even better when you would normally have dinner. Dinner at home would have been better and more cost-effective. Sorry, i‘m normally not picky.
We had a very nice evening. The food was not outstanding but okay. The starters were unique and tasty the main course was just okay. It was pretty noisy, hard to have a nice conversation.....especially because the family at the next table had a very rowdy, loud child who was not under control.
Our waiter was very attentive and helpful so the service was good.
We went for the dine out Vancouver to try this restaurant for the first time. The Korean rice ball appetizer was outstanding. The cucumber salad was small and not much taste, but fine. The lamb was good (but not especially exciting). The chicken thigh seemed the better option with it's wonderful smoky flavor. Both desserts were good. For only $12 they offered 3oz of wine with both the first and main course. Great location. Wonderful view. Good service. I'm not convinced that their regular prices would be worth it, but it was good for Dine Out.
Food was cold ..service was so slow ..
Used to be really nice food and great ambiance however seems like it changed ..asked medium rare lamb rack it came like super well done and other side things are cold and apple pie was so cold it was chewy ..I Don’t think I would ever go back for food and this is too bad ..I took my date for b day dinner stated him that it is one of the best foods in town and my fav place ended up being humiliated. Too sad that quality is no longer there .
drinks, appies, entrees and desserts all came at the perfect time with very little wait. very impressive service!
I'm never disappointed when I dine at The Dockside because of the ambiance, excellent service, great food choices and the waterfront view is amazing!
I absolutely love the experience.
Wonderful service, delicious food. Loved the atmosphere and you can’t beat the view!
We will be back!
Food wasn’t very good gnocchi was very dry and my chicken was over cooked
Excellent food. Nice and friendly waitress. Amazing service.
Awesome atmosphere. We really enjoyed our dinner at Dockside. We’ll definitely go back again. Highly recommended! Thank you and all the best to the staff.
Dockside's Dine Out Menu offered an interesting selection of appetizers, entrees and dessert. The food & service was very good. We sat at a window table with a view of the yachts, water and city lights. The whole evening was very enjoyable.
Came here for the dine out menu 2019. The appetizer choices were all fusion takes and being korean myself, i was pleasantly surprized to see that one of the selections were korean flavouring inspired. The sauce actually did taste authenticly korean, however, it tastes very similar to the sauce we use for our friend chicken and i associate that taste with chicken too much that it was weird to taste it on a arancini. The empanada was average also. Honestly, id just let the koreans stick to the korean food and mexicans stick to the mexican food. I applaud the chef for attempting fusion dishes but i would rather just go to an authentic place for that. I got the rack of lamb with gnocchi. Lamb was good & tender. Gnocchi tasted like it had been sitting for a while because it was “hard” and too chewy like it was on heat for too long or had been made and reheated. Also, my gnocchi was covered in citrus flavours but my lamb wasnt, whereas my friend’s lamb was very citrus-y and gnocchi was bland. I would have prefered the blander gnocchi and more flavourful lamb. We both got the choco creme brulee for dessert. I thought that the top sugar layer had a great “crack” to it but it was on the thicker side, also the consistancy under was a bit more pudding like than creamy. But overall taste was good!
For the price I was expecting a more worth it experience, nice ambiance and service but that’s as far as it goes. Mediocrity for an un mediocre price, pretty disappointed. Wouldn’t come back was a nice one time thing.
This is nice upscale restaurant with a quiet but not boring atmosphere. Staff were attentive but also let us drink and eat at our own pace. The salmon sampler was perfect for two as a starter. I had the salmon for my main course and it was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately my husbands prime rib was over cooked...
The dessert, the final memory of the meal, was a rude offering of slightly burnt, semi warmed, hard, apple pie and a chocolate creme ( should read crime) brûlée which really tasted like a package of instant pudding. The meal itself was mediocre for a restaurant claiming to be ‘ fine dining’ , but to finish off with
a blackened pastry speaks volumes about how much Dockside really cares about food.
Location and tourists is what this is about, and it is turning into a tourist rip off place, unfortunately.
My boyfriend and I went for our first Dine Out at Dock Side. The selection of food was absolutely amazing and so delicious. Our server was great, attentive, and really sweet! Made the experience even more fun. I would recommend going during Dine Out or during any other occasion or just because dinner. Never disappoints the taste buds!
From the time we arrived, we were met by very friendly staff. We were seated promptly. I cannot remember our waiter's name and I apologize. He was very attentive without being a bother. He read my thoughts completely and knew exactly when to come by and not. I would strongly recommend Dockside Restaurant to anyone.
Great service by our server. She was able to accommodate substitutions on the entree sides. The food was either a hit or miss depending on what was ordered. The halibut was overcooked and hard on the outside. The prime rib and garlic mashed potatoes were amazing. Dessert was ok. The wine and cocktail list was decent and local beers were available. The view from the window was really nice. Free parking just outside of the hotel doors made it super convenient.
I dine out a lot at fine restaurants and have for many many years,. I’ve also frequented Dockside many times! This was one of the best dining experiences I have had at any restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious! The way the flavours were put together was impeccably done! The service was exceptional, friendly, accommodating and responsive. The atmosphere as usual was beautiful and warm. One of my fave restaurants in the city!
Great food, I thoroughly enjoyed the califlower bites and halibut. It is the best I had. Spent my mother's birthday there. The service was superb. I hope to be back there soon!
The location is the selling feature of this restaurant, everything else is "good" however the service that we received was "very good". You will not be disappointed but you will not be over awed either.
A good place to take visitors to Vancouver - the patio in summer is 'excellent".
Food was ok but not great for the price. The hollandaise sauce for my eggs Benedict was luke warm and wasn’t worth the $23.
I am a regular of this place. Food is rather good. Miltiple reservation reminders. Food is above average but the water front view is impressive even on a rainy cold day.
I ordered the seafood risotto. What I got was mushy rice in a cheep cheese sauce. Some cheese is fine in risotto but not in seafood risotto. Totally kills the flavour of the fish. Very disappointed. I’ve eaten at Dockside many times with wonderful food and was so very disappointed with this meal. I did mention this to our waiter as well.
It was amazing to go in having given a few notes about allergies and it being a Birthday. Patrick took excellent care of us and made it a fun experience! The food was also incredibly tasty! I’d go back for a special occasion or recommend it to friends for sure!
We dinner on Christmas Eve and it was booked solid. Despite all the people we found the room temperature to be quite cold. It did not help that we sat beside a window but we had a good view of the harbour. The food was very good: we shared the Grilled Halibut and the Baja Salad paired with a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. The service was exceptional. Recommend you dress warmly if eating there on a cold winter day. In the summer time they have an exceptional patio and I typically go several times a year.
We had Christmas Eve dinner at Dockside, as we have had in the past. Our waiter was excellent and very entertaining. The corner we were seated in was cozy and quiet. The food was a bit of a disappointment. My Yorkshire pudding (Popover maybe?), was dry, cold and overcooked. The beef was not the most tender I have eaten. A fig creme brûlée was chosen for dessert and the fig essence was impossible to detect. The meal was enjoyable enough but not quality I would have expected for the price. Thank you.
Mom was visiting from out of town so we brought her here for dinner. Beautiful views and the service was excellent.
This is a fun place to go in the Summer when you can eat outside. The waitstaff is very good and personable. This recent meal was in the lounge, since there was a huge Christmas party in the dining room. This is always a gamble whether the party ruins the experience for the other diners. Everything was pretty good for us, but we had an early dining time. The time to go is definitely in the Summer.
The area of s lovely
And the service is great
I had the salmon chowder and it was only a three
Sorry but that is the truth
Too thick and just not great
Disappointed not to be able to enjoy a requested marina-side window seat.
Enjoyable location. Will dine here again.
