We had a wonderful Easter brunch! Great service and delicious food, worth the splurge.
We had the rare opportunity of an evening without our kiddo and after striking out finding a decent reservation in the Old Port, we stayed close and chose The Dockside Grill. No matter when we have come here (dinner or lunch), it has been a win. This evening was no exception. It took a bit longer than we would have liked to put in our initial cocktail order, but over the entirety of the meal, Whitney did a great job and we had no complaints.
I had the salmon with capers and buerre blanc sauce and it was perfect (I even ordered extra capers); my wife ordered the Shrimp Scampi which was on special and was delicious - not overly greasy or garlicy and the shrimp were fresh and HUGE!
We needed this to be a quiet, low pressure, great dining experience kind of night and it absolutely was. It is so great to have a home run so close to our home. We will always bring friends and family to this restaurant. Great menu, great food, nice ambiance. Thank you!
This restaurant had it all: atmosphere, good food, good service!
Our meal was absolutely amazing! I ate every last morsel of my dinner
The price you pay is a direct reflection of the service you receive. With a beautiful view and welcoming staff, Dockside Grill is all around a "Fine Dining" restaurant. I recommend this beautiful restaurant not just for the quality of their food, but for the amazing staff and management. You will not be disappointed.
The menu sounded wonderful but wasn't much to write home about after tasting... service was pretty slow (to give credit, it WAS a pretty busy evening). I guess I'd like to try them again once summer is here - perhaps they're just a good "summer" place.
We enjoyed a splendid mid-winter lunch at the Dockside Grill. The menu was imaginative but also Maine. The food was very good, attractively presented and promptly served. The service was terrific, with our wait person going more than the extra mile to ensure that the one-year-old with us had oyster crackers to nibble before his grilled cheese arrived and fresh fruit to enjoy as the adults enjoyed a leisurely conversation after lunch. The location is, of course, unbeatable.
Went to try the winter special. Excellent food and a great value, ran out of bread but not a big deal, well worth trying.
Food delicious. A bit pricey. And took a bit for server to make contact.
A delightful experience - Sunday brunch. Service was outstanding, will always return!
My wife and I were looking forward to dining at Dockside for New Year’s Eve but were somewhat disappointed in our experience. The ambiance was nice , our waitress was very friendly and likeable. Unfortunately though, service was very slow. We each ordered the 8oz filet with scallop potatoes. I ordered mine medium, my wife ordered medium-well. Both steaks were excellent cuts of meat, but were served cooked medium rare. Our potatoes were flavorful, but also very much undercooked. If not for the fact we had waited such a long time for our meal we would have requested additional cooking, but instead kept quiet and ate most of our dinner. For the price of dining at Dockside, it’s unfortunate the chef wasn’t attentive enough to prepare our meal as requested.
Great view of the full moon on New Year's Eve! Our server was extremely friendly and helpful in offering suggestions based off our questions. Pricing/value is equivalent to the Portland area. A must see in the summer!
The food at the Dockside is consistently good. The waitstaff is friendly. Nice place to eat, even in the winter months. Nice bar with Happy Hour.
Upscale new England find. Delicious cuisine and generous portions. Truly enjoyed the experience.
Four different food choices by our group and all were excellent! Lovely dining experience.
Delicious food served in an elegant yet comfortable setting.
Lovely luncheon on a quiet day; service was great; have been coming here since I was 6 years old!
really nice; our second time to take grandma out to dinner and it will be our regular spot i'm sure. Easy for her to access, good seafood, friendly service and not overpriced. I look forward to going in the summer so we can sit in side.
You go for the view; although I have heard they are going to change their menu up and look forward to that.
Uneventful, I had the yellowtail which was good but risotto was bland. My friend had shortrubs but they ran out of potatos at 7:00 and substituted with bland risotto. Service was good.
Good food, good dinner. However, I feel that for a $38 filet I would expect a center cut filet. And not an end cut with a side muscle. For the money we spent on dinner I would expect a higher quality product.
Our favorite restaurant in Greater Portland, great food and atmosphere I would compare it to any other restaurant around.
Dockside Grill offers quiet dining outside of the bar, which is great for those who want to chat while they are having dinner. My husband had the grilled yellow fin tuna and I had the panko crusted baked haddock - both entrees were DELICIOUS.
Always a great experience - fantastic setting. Thank you!
We enjoyed a nice dinner. Food was excellent, loved the location and ambiance.
To my surprise we were able to get a reservation for a Friday at last moment and my wife and I were looking forward to dinner at the Dockside because we had not been before. We arrived and were seated promptly. That's when things slowed way down, not a bad thing because we do not like being rushed, but it did take time between visits from the wait staff. We were there for about 20 minutes before a drink order was taken, 20 minutes before being served them and we were just over the 1 hour mark before we were asked for our food order. We ordered the brie appetizer which came after about a half hour with the pastry being charred black on 70%, not golden brown. Too bad, the brie and berry compote was good but the pastry not so much. My hanger steak was cooked exactly how I like it but the Brussels spouts were completely charred/burned beyond recognition or flavor. My wife's haddock was very bland and the risotto was like paste. Maybe they had an off night, we will see if we go back.
Delicious fish meal, enjoyed the Asian Tuna with honey soy ginger sauce, vegetable risotto and grilled asparagus. Great spot for seafood diner with the family.
service was not great and for the price, the food was just okay. wont be going back
Had a very delicious lunch and the service was great. Went on a Sunday afternoon and listened to a great trio. Had a table by the door, so it was a little drafty every time the door opened.
Absolutely delicious, I must eat gluten free and This is a great place for that. I had a luxurious number of options to choose from - and that is a rare thing! Lovely ambiance this evening - I arrived after the rush 😊 so it was very quiet. Fantastic service, I chose to sit at the bar and it was a very good choice, great service. I'll be back, the patio/downstairs opens tomorrow!
Our waitress was unaware we were there. Waited 20 minutes just for someone to come over and give us water. Food arrived cold. Expensive restaurant for such a bad experience. Beautiful views.
Great view, food and service! We have enjoyed both the upstairs and downstairs dining rooms.
We had a reservation for 530 , We order our drinks and dinner within 15 minutes of being seating by a very nice waitress and took an hour and a half to be served our food . I find this uncalled for ,
Hostess was harried - busy night, but.... Server gave excellent service. Meat was undercooked and had to be sent back - it was also missing the mashed potatoes which came out in a BIG pile when the meal reappeared. Food was tasty.
Extremely loud due to large party in same area. Waited over an hour for meal after ordering. Was told it was due to large party. Reservations were made so they should have been prepared. When entre arrived it was raw in center. Sent it back & got back another entre that was not much better after asking for cooked through. Waitress was pleasant and as helpful as she could be. We will not return.
great dinner with good friends. It did seem a bit frenzied at first but it was not a big deal because the food was so good. The Mussels were amazing ( coconut).
Really great spot for dining on the water. Food was great, service was even better! Will be back this summer for sure!
Had lunch there several months ago with son. Great view. Good food. Just had dinner with wife and both of us enjoyed the meal and atmosphere.
I really wish we could give 1/2 star ratings as this would have been 4 1/2 stars, everything was nearly 5 stars, the only complaint or negative would have need unusually long wait for nearly everything but the waitress was very apologetic and the view, location, ambience and food quality made up for it. Also my girlfriend commented several times that she liked this restaurant 😃
