We truly loved our experience, and will be back for many more brunches! The server was awesome and the food & cocktails were delish!
Great server, only misstep was a slightly overdone pork chop, but still a great meal.
This is such a LOVELY setting! Their menu is great--lots of choices. It will be even better when the weather gets warmer, and we can eat right next to the water. The service was fantastic!! And it's a classy but casual atmosphere. My only complaint was the amount of salt in the food--on the french fries specifically. Also, I didn't think the caesar salad dressing was that terrific. Don't think I'd get it again, and normally I love that dish in other restaurants. I will be trying Dockside in the future. Maybe it was just an off day.
Disappointed in food and in long wait time to get our meal. Haddock overdone, carbonara pasta not great and salmon dish too saucy. Potatoes were cold.
Probably won’t go for dinner again!
Greta food and location right on the dock. Service was also very good
We had another excellent experience all around. Never disappoints.
Great View, well spread out for Covid and awesome food. Strongly recommend as this is one of our favorites. Reservations suggested, but even the Happy Hour can give you a good experience.
What a beautiful hidden little gem. We will be back for sure!
Date night with our granddaughter and her boyfriend ❤️ Everything was perfect! Views, service, and ambiance were wonderful and the food was scrumptious!! All 4 of us loved our meal. Salmon, haddock, mushroom risotto and pasta carbonara were our choices and plates were all cleaned!!
Topping the evening was a beautiful rainbow over the water. We will definitely return!!
New Years Eve dinner was as good as always! Great service, drinks and food. We never have a bad meal here!
We love the dockside! We’ll miss them while they close until April 2021. All the best!
Establishment did an awesome job with Covid-19 restrictions. Waitress, Samantha, was awesome.
Quality of food and service both exceptional.
The atmosphere was elegant, the food artfully presented and deliciously prepared. Our server Sam was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, friendly, professional and efficient. Highly recommended.
To be fair, we went to The Dockside Grill on a Monday evening during a terrible wind storm and COVID so the restaurant was empty. However, the service was very slow (I think only one person was working) and our food took a really long time to arrive. The tuna tartare was mediocre but the Brussel sprouts were delicious. Other meals (scallops, chowder, Caesar salad) were good though. I’d like to go back on a summer evening when you can see the view and it’s busier.
Great food and service! And those donuts.....excellent!!!
Wouldn’t want to have been anywhere else for my birthday!! Loved having Jess
Wonderful and tasty food, and great service.
Great water view and brightly light by the panoramic windows. Service was quick and food come out in quite reasonable time. Lots of parking and they take reservations, so much preferred over Portland restaurants. We will keep returning.
Great evening! Very relaxed!
I don't know how we have never been to Dockside on our trips to Portland. It is a complete gem of a restaurant with gorgeous decks, wonderful food and fabulous service. It is definitely going to be one of our stops whenever we visit the Portland area.
We were thew only ones and the squash salad paired with a Burgundy pinot noir was delightful for lunch upstairs ands inside; COVDI19 safe.
Great meal, outstanding server
What fun! Boats were being pulled and washed at the dock before being loaded for travel up the hill for the winter!
Phenomenal dining experience. I would not hesitate to go again.
Everything was lovely. My friends and I enjoyed food and beverage. I’d go back in a heartbeat.
Always a great time with incredible food and service.
Beautiful day on the patio. Server attentive. Hubby had his usual fish and chips- he enjoyed very much. I mixed it up and had the burger with caramelized onion and side of greens. Absolutely delicious. I almost finished every bite.
We had the whole bar area to ourselves for most of the meal. The bartender was also our server, and she was attentive, competent and personable. Our meals were all excellent!!
Met a colleague for lunch - great views as always with quality Burrata, Watermelon, & Heirloom Tomato Salad followed by Blackened Halibut Tacos. Colleague had a Massive Shrimp Cocktail followed by the always-awesome Fish & Chips.
Four stars and not five only because it tops out there, it’s just not a five-star location. This is not an insult, just a very good location with a great view, not Fore Street or EvenTide, which are James Beard winners.
Go, enjoy, and dine well.
Everything was outstanding. Very talented staff. Great service.
I am from Colorado but grew up in New England. It had been a while since having lobster and I was looking for the perfect steamed lobster dinner and I found it!!
We had a great experience at Dockside. Very impressed with their adherence to the Maine Covid protocol. We felt very safe. The service and food was impeccable. Fun evening out with friends.
Ambiance was
We had a mix bag of nuts for our time at the restaurant. We had reserved a table inside but none were available when we arrived so we were stuck outside freezing that night. In spite of that my friends and wife were in good spirits about that and joked about how cold we were. The server did her best to take care of us but she was taking care of several tables and walking so far from the restaurant out to the edge of the dock must have made things hard on her as drinks too a long time to get and when the food came the steaks were way overcooked and the “hot drinks” were cold. I was upset about the bait and switch of our table and the fact that my steak was so over cooked that it was like shoe leather but we didn’t complain or send the steaks back because we couldn’t last another hour outside in the cold. The worse part was the loud girls group next door just complained and got moved inside before their food came. I don’t blame the server for being overwhelmed, but the restaurant should have honored my reservation that I made almost two weeks early and sat us inside and perhaps the cook should have check the steaks before sending them out to make sure that they were actually medium rare instead of well done.
On a sunny day in late September the patio dining with shade was perfect. The creamy seafood chowder made a tasty starter and the pickled onions and a bit of fruit went well with the fish tacos. For less adventurous tastes their lightly dipped fish and chips can be recommended.
Great spot and atmosphere. Appetizers, drinks and sides were excellent. I opted for a prime ribeye over seafood and was served what looked to be a NY strip. In these trying times I didn’t want to make a big deal about. This was our first time there but despite the main course being less than desirable I’d go back.
Incredible food and service. Every dish we got we were so happy with! Can’t wait to go back!!
The servers were attentive and quick. Beautiful patio view
Beautiful view overlooking dock with boats and islands beyond. Attentive, courteous waitstaff. We were seated inside a clear wind curtain with an optional heater on the building above our heads, so it was very comfortable even on a somewhat chilly September day. This is one of our favorite restaurants!
